Another Walgreens moneymaker is coming our way. Next week Ecotrin products will be on sale for $2 at Walgreens with a $2 Register Reward making it free (this is a reward that spits out of the register after your sale is complete. You can use it on your next purchase but you can not use it to buy another Ecotrin). The best part is that you can print out this $2.25/1 Printable coupon here making this a $2 moneymaker. Print your coupons as soon as possible because my guess is that they will be gone shortly.
*NOTE: The amount of this coupon is above the price you will be paying for the product. At Walgreens the machine will usually beep so the cashier just needs to make an adjustment to either the price of the Ecotrin or push the coupon through at $2.00 off.

Print out this coupon for a free reusable lunch bag at Whole Foods. The coupon does not state that you need to make a purchase but while you are there you can pick up some Kashi Frozen waffles with this $1.50/1 Kashi Waffle Coupon. I don’t know what their regular prices are on these waffles but the coupon is a high value and might be worth a look. My Whole Foods has Bell & Evans Chicken Bone-In Chicken Breast on sale for $2.99/lb which is not a bad price for organic chicken. I might pick up some of that.
Hurry this deal ends on 4/26

So I decide to run into CVS to check out a deal I had seen on a blog I subscribe to…It’s Hip to Save. The deal was that 1 particular scent of Adidas deodorant was on clearance for $2.50 and there were $1.00 coupons floating around (I found mine right there at CVS on the products themselves) making them $1.50 each and you got back $2 Extra Care Bucks for every one you purchased (maximum of 3) making it a $.50 moneymaker per item (I LOVE those moneymakers).
I get to CVS and use my Extra Care Card to scan at the scanner (usually found by the front door) and the following coupons print out:
$2 off $10 CVS brand products
$2 off when you buy 2 CVS nuts
$5 off when you buy any Lumene product (Lumene is a CVS brand)
1 other that I don’t remember and did not use today.
When I saw those coupons I thought…ewe am I going to have fun. And this is what I bought:
2 Lumene Makeup Wipes 2.99 each (have come to love these wipes)
2 Gold Emblem Cashew Nuts .99 each (CVS brand item)
2 Gold Emblem Apple Juice 1.50 each (also a CVS brand item)
3 Adidas Intensity Deodorants 2.50 each
coupons I used:
$5 off Lumene products
$2 off 2 nuts
$2 off $10 CVS brand
3 – $1.00 adidas.
Used $6 Extra Care Bucks
Total OOP (out of pocket) $.46
Got back $6.00 in Extra Care Bucks (from the 3 adidas deodorant)
Total Cost $.46
Not to bad for a quick, unplanned trip to CVS.

How I got started couponing:
Being married for almost 25 years my husband has seen me try a lot of crazy things. The first weekend I had decided to become a serious couponer (is that even a word?) I sent him out to our local 7-eleven to purchase 4 Sunday newspapers. He looked at my like I was even nutter then ever. I said trust me…I’ve been researching this on various blogs and websites and I think this can work.
I was spending $250 a week or more on groceries and health and beauty aids. With my husband landing a new job but with a reduced paycheck, 2 kids in college and 1 at a private school I knew something had to give. Groceries it was going to be. And low and behold, after 4 weeks I was saving $50 a week…6 weeks saving $75 week…8 weeks a whopping $100 each week in savings. Now I spend $75 – $120 $75 a week on all my groceries and health and beauty aids.
Now I know what you are thinking…but how do I do it. My first suggestion is to look around at different websites such as Coupon Mom. Visit their forums, check out the weekly “grocery deals by state” section for great match ups. And buy about 4 newspaper each week. A great way to start keeping your coupons is to keep them intact (do not cut them). Mark them with the date and put them in file. It’s really simple and it really works. I have more toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, shower gel, cereals, tea, peanut butter in my cabinets than I can use in a year.
The first week of couponing I had a few items with coupons on my list and a lot of items I needed that were not on sale. As the weeks went on that slowly changed and I had fewer and fewer items I had to buy without coupons. My stockpile of sale items was growing and growing and I could be picky about what I was buying and how much I was paying for it. I started to look for only those items that were 75% or more off. We eat healthier, we cook more often and get take out a lot less.
As my blog continues to grow I will share with you the hidden deals and what to look for….so stay tuned for incredible savings.
