My Garden Part 2

by Cindy on May 31, 2009

Here is the rest of my garden. These pictures are taken from the patio and I’m happy to report that I am finally done. I was so proud of myself this year because I budgeted money for the flowers and mulch and stuck to it. All I have to do now is fill the 2 urns I have by the patio door. We ate dinner out there tonight and it was so pretty.

This is the side of my house that leads to the side door. This is the door that we use as our main entrance for us, family & friends. Anyone that knows us only goes to the side door. People just walk right in. Love that! The area past the arbor is also where I do my potting. I have an old potting bench on the left. I would have taken a picture but my husband put all the garbage bags there from us cleaning the back yard. Maybe next time I’ll share it with you. Well, that’s all of my garden. I hope you enjoyed the pictures. On to more important things like bargain shopping!

Okay guys, I’m suppose to be working in my garden and doing laundry but I didn’t want you all to miss this great deal. I picked up 5 this morning (I really need these right now – too many grey hairs).
They are on sale at CVS for $3.99 and there is a $4.00/1 coupon in the 4/19 Red Plum. The only catch is the coupons expire TODAY. So pull out your coupons and get over to CVS before they close and get your free hair color.

2 Inserts This Weekend

by Cindy on May 31, 2009

After a week off from inserts there will be 2 inserts in this Sunday’s paper. 1 Smart Source & 1 Red Plum.
I buy 4 papers each weekend. I get 1 delivered to my house and I pick up the other 3 at either Walgreens or CVS where I try to incorporate the newspaper into a great deal by either paying very little or nothing for them.

Do you need a newspaper subscription?

My Aldi Shopping Tip

by Cindy on May 31, 2009

This is my first post about Aldi. I found out about Aldis about 6 months ago and I am amazed at the prices. Some things you need to know before you shop there.
  • You need to bring your own bags. They do not supply them. If you forget them they do have bags there that they sell.
  • Make sure you bring a quarter for the shopping cart. You get your quarter back after you return the cart
  • They do not accept coupons and quite honestly you don’t need them. Their prices are so cheap.
  • They only accept cash and debit card.

So here is what I bought for $44.38

100% Whole Wheat Bread
2 pkgs Chili Seasoning Mix
4 lbs. Wild Caught Salmon
Celery
Grape Tomatoes
2 Green Peppers
Bananas
2 lbs. Vidalia Onion
2 lbs. Red Onion
Shredded Romano Cheese
Spring/Butter lettuce Salad Bag
2 Cucumbers
Chicken Fries
Bag of Unsalted Almonds
1 Block of Cheddar Cheese
Baby Carrots
4 Large Fuji Apples
Gallon 2% Milk

You see what I mean. This store is amazing. The store I shop at is about 20 minutes away so I don’t get there as often as I would like but it is sure worth it when I do. To see if there is one by you click here. Look for my post tomorrow where I list all the prices for dairy, produce and bakery items so you can compare with your regular stores.
