May 2009

I thought I would cover all these items in 1 post since they are all related.

My Great Husband & Coupons
My husband made a trip to Home Depot today to pick up Scotts Fertilizer for the lawn and 10 bags of mulch. I am so impressed with him because I sent him off with a $3.00 coupon for the Scotts (you need to register on the site to get the coupon) and a $10 off $50 Lowes coupon. We don’t have a Lowes close to us but Home Depot does take competitor coupons. His total was going to be just over $50 after the $3.00 coupon. The cashier told him he could not use both but he knew better. I guess listening to me talk about using coupons for so long paid off because he calmly asked her to check with a manager and sure enough…he was able to use both. That is quite a change for him because, number 1…he would not have even attempted the coupons in the first place and number 2…he would have just went along with what the cashier said. I was so impressed!!

A Great Reader & A Great Garden Center
I received an email today from a great reader, Michele. Knowing how much I like to garden, she sent me information on a garden center called Gasko’s Family Farm in Monroe Twp, NJ. When I went on their website I could not believe how reasonable their prices are. If I only lived closer. If you are lucky enough to live close to Monroe or maybe you just want to take a drive there you can check them out. It’s certainly worth it. Note: They only accept checks or cash (that’s my kind of store). Thanks Michele for the great information!!

My Garden
Lastly, my front garden is finally done. With all the chilly weather we had I was a bit backed up on it but as of this afternoon (and before the thunderstorm) it is complete. I hope you enjoy my pictures.

I Need Your Help To Find A Car

by Cindy on May 24, 2009

We are searching for a car for my son who turns 17 in July (sigh!). If any of you live in the northern NJ area that know of anyone selling a car suitable for a guy (no VWs – they are girl cars according to my son) please let me know. Our price range is around $3000. Now I know that is not that much but we are hoping we can get something that is reliable for around that price. Send me an email at livingrichwithcoupons@gmail.com if you know of anything. Thanks a bunch and I hope you are all enjoying the holiday weekend. Tomorrow I am spending the morning finishing up my front garden. I’ll post up some pictures when I am done.

3 Blueberry Bushes for $10

by Cindy on May 23, 2009

When I got this deal in my email I thought that this would be great to offer you guys but I was a bit hesitate to post it as I was not sure about the company. So….I tried it myself before I let you all know about it. I can report that it took only 1 week for these to arrive after I ordered them. I paid $18.90 for all three including shipping. They are smaller than I thought (as you can see from my pots above) but they arrived quite healthy. I planted them in pots to start and will probably transplant after they get larger. I really can’t imagine they will produce blueberries this year as they are so small but I can’t wait till I have my very own blueberries to pick. The one thing you will need to know is when you are placing your order you only need to order a quantity of 1. Ordering 1 will get you the 3 plants. I made that mistake and after I emailed them they corrected it quickly for me. So….ONLY ORDER 1 TO GET THE 3 PLANTS. Click on the banner below to get your very own blueberries.

My Pathmark Trip Today – Saved $76.75

by Cindy on May 23, 2009

I took advantage of the Pathmark bonus deals today as well as the 4 day sale items and a great find on the Sorrento Fresh Mozzarella Balls for only $1.00 plus a $.55 coupon that I had just found at ShopRite on a table earlier in the day. So I got them FREE after double coupons! I won’t bore you with all the items because you can see them in the picture and if you click on the bonus deals link above you will see how it all worked (I used idea #2 & idea #3 that I had posted earlier which made me money so that I was able to buy the meat, tomatoes & ice cream for next to nothing). The summary was $83.79 for only $7.09. That’s a 91% savings! And I have so much Country Crock from this and the A&P deal that I gave some to my neighbors.

Update On My Kraft Catalina From A&P

by Cindy on May 23, 2009

Just an update on the $10 Catalina that should have printed on the Kraft deal last week at A&P. The awesome managers at the Maplewood A&P did a great job of checking with corporate and then with the Catalina company. They called me everyday to keep me updated until Catalina called me directly today to let me know that I would be receiving my $10 catalina coupon in the mail by next week. I was so impressed with the customer service I received from A&P that I sent an email to corporate to let them know that Ron & Bob at A&P are awesome and I appreciate the service I received.

Now even better news. The cost for the $153.80 worth of groceries I got at A&P during that shopping trip was only $6.67. That is a 96% savings.
