Breakfast At The Liveseys

by Cindy on May 10, 2009

All this for $7.96.

I wasn’t going to take advantage of the Kelloggs sale at Pathmark that I posted earlier because I already have a lot of cereal. But then I remember that my daughter, Nikki, was coming home from college today for the summer and she LOVES cereal. So, at $.50 a box after the $1.00 coupons I printed from the internet (most are not able to be printed any longer), I went to Pathmark and picked up 8 boxes of cereal. Then, I remembered that I did not get orange juice yesterday at ShopRite so I ran in for the Tropicana $2.98 for a gallon (4 day sale) less $1/1 printable coupons. So now the Liveseys are all set for breakfast.

Where Do I Get Coupons

by Cindy on May 9, 2009

Part 1 in the beginner series. Where Do I Get Coupons

Well, this would be the best place to start because without coupons you simply can not save money on groceries. For those of you that are new to coupon shopping, this would be the time for you to purchase more than 1 newspaper. I get 4 newspapers every weekend plus I print coupons off the internet (I try to print 4 of each if I can). There are also a few other ways you can get your coupons besides just buying newspapers.

There are many sites that offer printable coupons. Some of them are as follows:

Coupons.com
Smart Source
Red Plum
Coupon Network
Target Coupons

My ShopRite Trip Today – So Happy!!

by Cindy on May 9, 2009

Okay, so sometimes I go shopping and I walk out thinking…that was good but I wish I saved more. Well, this time I kicked butt. My total bill for all of the above was $66.75. My total savings with price plus, half price items and coupons was….$94.36. Happy dance!!

To think that there was a time, not too long ago, that I would have paid $161.11 for all of this. Yikes. Not any more!

Here is what I got:

4 – 12 oz bags Tilapia Fillet
8th Continent Soymilk 64 oz
4 boxes Barilla Pasta Piccolini – FREE
3 Flank Steaks (wanted more but that was all that looked good)
2 Glass Plus Trigger
8 pkgs Carolina Rice Pilaf (my family will be very happy as I haven’t been able to find any at a good price…this was FREE)
2 -Perdue Sauce & Toss
20 Dannon Light & Fit Yogurt
4 Hefty One Zip Bags Galloon
4 Hefty One Zip Bags Quarts
4 Green Giant Steamer Veggies Frozen
5 Spray N Wash Stain Remover
SR Oatmeal
La Choy Soy Sauce
1 pt. cherry tomatoes
4 ears of corn (reduced sale)
2 Whole Grain Cranberry Muffins (reduced sale from bake shop)
1 container apples (reduced sale…these were probably reduced because they were picked over as they are very small but I have to tell you they are good)
1 Gallon 1% Milk
1 container pistachios shelled (my downfall…I have to have these on my salad)

Coupons used:
$1.00 8th Continent – blinkie machine
4 – $.75/1 Barilla (doubled) printable
2 – $1/1 Perdue Sauce & Toss from 3/15 Red Plum
4 – $.75/2 Carolina Rice from 3/1 Red Plum (doubled)
4 – $1/2 Hefty from the 3/29 Red Plum
4 – $.50/1 Green Giant from the 4/5 Smart Source
4 – $.75/1 Spray & Wash printable (doubled)
2 – $1/1 Glass Plus Printable
2- $1/10 Dannon
Then I received a $5.00 catalina at the end of the sale from purchasing 5 of the Spray & Wash. I used that to purchase my pistachios.
