Super Savings Shopping Trip – Saved 90% at A&P

Did you miss me. I was quiet for a day. I have been very busy all day shopping for all the goodies you see here. Plus my parents popped in and they took me to dinner so free dinner tonight for me. Thanks Mom & Dad. Anyway, got a ton of stuff today and guess where I went….A&P of course, to take advantage of their triple coupons. I found out that the Maplewood A&P is not allowing overage and the Montclair & Denville are (if you live in NJ). Too bad for me that I did the bulk of my coupon shopping at the Maplewood. Oh well, I still did great.

Everything on the left (I left out a Breyers Multi pack yogurt) is from A&P. There I spent a total of $10.77 for $100.69 worth of groceries (wow that’s 90% off). Items that were not included in my earlier post are Breyers Multi Pack Disney Yogurt in flavor Strawberry/Vanilla are reduced to $1.79 (use $.75/1 from 5/17 SS), Edge Shaving Gel $2.69 (use .75/1 from ??). I also got Wacky Mac that was only $.94 with $1.00/2 coupons. They were not tripled but I wanted to get them.

Then I headed off to Aldi. They have reduced their prices on a bunch of items. Some to take note of are milk (only $1.99), strawberries ($1.29), cantaloupe (.79), romaine hearts (1.99), grape tomatoes (1.69). There I spent $36.19.

I came home to my freezer (the one in my kitchen) not working. Everything was covered in “snow”. Luckily I have a big freezer in the garage that I had to transfer everything into. Not too happy about that but at least I had a place to put everything until we figure out what is wrong.

Tomorrow I am off to Pathmark for meat. My plan is to spend about $15 – $20. I did order coupons for Carolina Rice Mix on sale at A&P (FREE) and I’ll still try to get the Viva Paper Towels ($.04) there but that is pennies. So after I’m done I will still be under my budget for the week.
