Consumer Product Safety Commission Cracks Down On Garage Sales

Are you planning a garage sale soon or selling something on ebay?

If so you might want to take a couple of days and read up on the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s 24 Page Handbook for Retail Stores and Product Resellers. Or you can ignore it and risk a $100,000 fine from the CPSC.

Thanks to a new government campaign called “The Resale Round Up” it now makes it illegal to sell items that have been recalled. And they are even cracking down at a garage sales.

So if you have this Nerf N-Strike Recon Blaster that was sold at WalMart, Target & Toys R Us from November 2007 – August 2008, do not sell it. It’s really not worth the dollar you will get for it.

Go here for a breakdown on what you can not sell.

Isn't that the craziest? I guess we better watch out if a secret service looking kind of guy shows up at our neighborhood yard sales!
