Super Stock Back Up Shopping – Plus Awesome Aldi Trip

After my shopping trip this weekend I am so stocked up now that I have no more room in my freezer. I was still recovering from the holidays and the kids all being home and visitors and everything else that depleted all of my food. So I have been slowly trying to build it back up while still staying under budget.

To start off the weekend I stopped at Pathmark and I already posted about my great catalina deal there where I spent only $7.43 for a whole bunch of stuff.

Then I headed to ShopRite where I spent $24.41 for $88.58 worth of groceries.  I splurged on the London Broil and went with the Angus cut which was $1.69/lb at only $.20 more a lb then the regular cut.  Both prices were awesome for London Broil so you couldn’t go wrong with either one.

Then I finally got to Aldi.

Now for me, Aldi is a 20 minute ride so I don’t get there as often as I would like.  So this time I stocked up on the seafood products that we like and that are such a great price there.

Seriously, if you have never tried Aldi you really have to give it a try.  Here is a list of the items we purchased so you can see how great their prices are:

3 Wild Salmon 1 lb package @ $3.99 each
4 Tilapia 1 1/2 lb packages @ $3.99 each
Crinkle Cut Potatoes $1.69
4 lbs Navel Oranges $1.39
Skim Milk 1 gal $2.69
Ice Cream Sandwiches (like Skinny Cow) $2.99
2 Green Peppers $.99 for both
5 lb bag Chicken Fries $3.99
Romaine Hearts $1.99
30 ct Tall Kitchen Bags $2.49
2 cans Kidney Beans $.59 each
Sweet Potatoes $1.29
1 loaf Split Top Wheat Bread $.99
Lemons $2.69
Cantaloupe $.89
3 lbs bananas $.89
5 Large Fuji Apples $1.95  <—yum my favorite apples ever!
Shredded Asiago Cheese $1.99
Small jar minced Garlic $1.19
2 packages Chili Seasoning Mix $.33 each
Parsley Flakes $1.09

Total came to $57.21

So all together we spent $89.05 which is over our budget. But, I stocked up on a lot of stuff including beef and seafood and really anticipate my bill to be much less next week. I hope that’s the case because I only have $61 left in my grocery envelope. We will see how it goes.

How did you do this week?
