So Many Deals, So Little Time!

Some times there are so many deals you find your head spinning.  All of  a sudden you have found yourself in the midst of this crazy world of “coupons on steriods”  ( a reader used that term once and I have become quite fond of it).  I mean, who knew you could get hundreds of dollars of groceries for $15, who knew you could get invitations for free, who knew you could make money buying bodywash.  I mean who knew? And who knew there would be so many?

And sometimes that’s a problem.  You see it gets overwhelming.  Do you go to Kmart or Walgreens, to CVS or Target.  Do you get cheap toys at Toys R Us or buy them on Amazon.  See, your head is spinning.  How do you keep track of them all?   Here are some tips to keep you organized:

1. Don’t feel like you need to do every single deal.  When you first start out you feel like you need to do every single deal you see.  Don’t,   it’s too much.  There is only so much toothpaste or shampoo you need.  Know when you can step back and say that’s a great deal but I’m skipping this one.  Trust me when I tell you that there will be more.  You don’t need to feel like you have to get it because you will miss out.  It will come around again.

2. Make a list of the deals you see and are interested in.  Keep a small notebook and jot down the deals that you find. If you like to make lists on the computer, then do that.  You can use an Excel or Google program to keep your lists.  Note coupons that you need how the deal works and the date it ends.

3.  When you see a deal you are interested in pull the coupons and keep them in an envelope. This way when you are ready to go every thing is right there at your finger tips.

4. If you are doing a rebate, keep an envelope for those receipts. When you are ready to sit down and fill out the rebate form, all the receipts are in one place.

5. When you complete your rebate forms, make copies of your completed form and receipt.  Place the date you mailed it in the corner and keep them in a folder.  When you receive your check you can remove the paperwork.  Again, if you like to keep lists on the computer, you can make and excel sheet with all the rebate information on it.

The key here is to make it easy and not overwhelming.  And pick and choose which deals you want to do because honestly there are more deals then there are hours in the day.
