Most magazines make their money from advertisers not from readers. Lots of popular magazines are given away for free because the higher the readership the higher the revenue from advertisers. Thats why you sometimes see such great deals for ordering magazines for a year or two years. It’s not your dollars that keep them in business it is their advertisers dollars
