My daughter is just 2, but we practice ‘school’ at home so she can mimick what we do in her daycare. We’ve talked about hugging/helping someone when they are hurt or need help. I was elated when a few days later my daughter’s teacher told me she helped someone who was sad when his mom left and another who was crying when she hurt herself. This all goes along with treating others as you would like to be treated.

We would love, love these Christian back-to-school supplies! With our home school group, we have recently began a co-op at our church which will meet T/TH throughout the school year. The purpose of the group is to work in cooperation with one another, laying down our gifts for the betterment of the community (Acts 2:42). Our children learn through experience how to live in community. These hip and inpsired notebooks, journals, pencil holders and binders would be a wonderful reminder to us all as to why we are learning.

  • In our homeschooling, we acknowledge that “studying” God is foundational and connected to the study of all other subjects. That’s how we school with purpose.

  • I like DaySpring on Facebook.

  • As homeschoolers we run on the theory that the world is our classroom and learning happens everywhere, so we “send” our girls out with the understanding that the Lord is the center of all things, and our purpose is to uphold the guidelines He set forth for us.

  • We are homeschooling and teaching them daily to live with purpose.

  • Karen D

We are very big on getting our kids doing well in school so they can be productive, intelligent members of society. But they also know that their real purpose on this earth is to be faithful to God and be kind, thoughtful human beings to everyone. We would all be much better off if we were nice to one another…
