    Thanks for putting this together.

What do you do with excess over-the counter drug (like those moneymaking deals that you really don’t need but would like to donate somewhere)?

I am wondering the same thing. I keep meaning to call my local food bank to see if they will accept them. If someone already knows please let us know! Thanks!

  • Also, another would be donating your expired coupons to the military overseas. They can use coupons up to 6 months after they expire.

This list can’t be beat – comes from IRS – a list of organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions. This online version is offered to help you conduct a more efficient search of these organizations.

    http://www.irs.gov/app/pub-78/

You can search by city and state for example.

By the way, I asked a couple of places not on this list why they are not on this list and I could never get a good answer – either just silence or something evasive. Try this and see what their reaction is.

The point is that all organizations on this list presumably passed some muster with IRS as real charitable organizations and the organizations not on the list did not bother to do so.
