Free Tax Return Filing Online

Each week I post an updated list of the best prices on Turbo Tax, Quicken & H&R Blocks products. I have come to find that people like to stick with what they are used to using.  So, if you are looking for one of the products I post every week, you might want to keep your eye out for my weekly update on them.

However, I did want to point out that there are free returns as well that you can take advantage of online.  Some require up to a certain income and some do not.  Here are a few of them.  If you know of any others, please feel free to leave them in the comments and I will update this post.

Plus you can also use the IRS.gov website to help you locate free online tax filling.

The links in the post above may be affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

If you have a AAA card you can get 25% off the price of Turbo Tax.

You might suggest people check their state tax websites, too. NY has 4 companies that will file both federal AND state returns for free if you are within certain income criteria. Here is the link for NY:

I always use TurboTax, TaxCut, and TaxAct Online. I fill out all 3 for free and see which gives me the highest refund. I e-file the federal return for free, then seek a free state e-file and e-file the state separately.

Ouch. I fill out only 2 for free (turbotax and taxact). But I don’t file until I check that both give me the SAME refund. If the refund is different then I get to the bottom of it and make sure that it becomes the same.

  • I agree with Laura, this good idea to file taxes with use of this online software and its also free so it is good to efile tax filing and please tell me if any more option also for free tax filing.
