NJ Happenings: Family Beach Party Night, Super Science Saturday, Maple Sugar Festival and more!

For New Jersey Residents:  Here are some free and/or inexpensive family activities for this weekend.

  • Saturday, 1/8: Family Beach Party Night at the Summit YMCA.  From 6:30 to 8:30 enjoy sand art, topical bingo, boardwalk games, face painting, beach boys music, snacks and more at the Buntin pool.  This event is free. Click here for more information.
  • Saturday, 1/8: Super Science Saturday at the Morris Museum in Morristown.  Create your own Kaleidoscope and participate in experiments. Children ages 5+ are welcome. From 12-2pm. $3 per child plus museum admissoin.  Click here to find out more.
  • Saturday and Sunday, 1/8-1/9: Maple Sugaring Demonstrations & Festival at the Great Swamp OEC, in Chatham Twp. Join in the fun at tree tapping demonstrations, learn how to identify maple trees, make syrup and taste test different syrups.  At the Maple Sugaring Festival enjoy wagon rides, games, crafts and more! The festival is $4 and from 12-4pm. The demonstrations is $3 and from 2-3pm.  Click here for more information.
