One of the two stores I shop have the $1 ups tag on the Special K.
Did not see the 2nd flavor mentioned on the free coupon though.

    • JP

I just bought whatever flavor they had. The clerk, I don’t think, gets paid enough to care.

  • Anonymous

    I can’t find the bogo stayfree q!

  • Karen

I don’t think the $6 Motrin coupon will work. The Rite Aid coupon policy says they won’t accept manufacturer coupons over $5.

    • Cindy

They don’t except internet printed coupons over $5 but they will take regular insert coupons over $5

      • Anonymous

My Rite Aid in central NJ took the $6 coupon, and so did a friends Rite Aid in South Jersey.

  • steph

    hi,
where do you find the month long deals? when do they start for this month?

  • Anonymous

I can’t find the stayfree coupon either. Zip code and category, please Cindy.

    • Cindy

It looks like the first link might be gone but you can print them off the second link.

  • Jennifer K.

If it’s included in the Barilla deal, there’s a coupon for $1/2 Barilla Plus pastas in this week’s smart source.

  • barb

What zip is the hormel cpn

    • Cindy

      I found it at 07039

      • anonymous

didn’t see it at all… the $1/3 is still available on their website though… better than nothing

  • Emily

    • JP

I don’t get why u only have to pay $.30 for the first transaction. Don’t u have to pay that plus the price of a box of cereal.

      • Cindy

It’s a BOGO Sale with a BOGO coupon. The BOGO coupon is only good for up to $4.49. The cereal is $4.79 – $4.99, so you would only have $4.49 deducted leaving $0.30 for 2 boxes of cereal.

        • Tiffany

I’m new to this and I totally am not catching on. So could someone help so I can learn? If I buy a box of cereal, and use the BOGO coupon, how is that not $4.49 that I pay? I understand how you got the .30 from your statement, but I don’t get it.

          • Emily

Ugh, Cindy already answered this. It is on sale for Buy one Get one free. You are using the coupon you have for buy one get one free. Rite Aid’s coupon policy says that you can use a bogo coupon on a bogo sale to get both for free. So, here’s how it goes:
            Buy 2 special K on sale for bogo free – $4.79, $0
Use coupon for bogo free – Takes away $4.49 (that’s how much it goes up to.)
            Pay: .30
            Ok?

            • anonymous

There is no need to be rude… if you are annoyed with someones question… don’t answer!! You shouldnt make someone feel bad b/c they don’t understand something that comes easy to you. If you are rude it may discourage people from asking questions. She was obviously not the only one who was confused. You are not obligated to answer these questions, Cindy does a great job at helping new comers. Thanks!

        • Tiff

Help me please. How are you only paying .30? I totally get how you literally came up with the math, but how is it buy 1 at $4.49 and get one box free equal .30, not 4.49? I’m new to couponing, so help me please?

          • Cindy

Rite Aid has a Buy One Get One Free sale this week on the Special K. There is also a Buy One Get One Free coupon. So when you match the BOGO Coupon with the BOGO sale you get 2 for free. However, in this case, the coupon will only allow you to deduct $4.49 for the Free item and the items are prices starting at $4.79. So the register rings up like this:

            1 Special K Cereal $4.79
            1 Special K Cereal $0 (store sale Buy 1 Get 1 Free)

Then you use a BOGO Free coupon so they have to deduct for 1 box. But they only deduct $4.49 because of the amount allowed on the coupon.

            -$4.39

What’s left is $0.30 for the 2 boxes.

Hope that helps answer your question.

            • Lori S.

Unfortunately my Rite Aid never lets me use a BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale 🙁

              • Cindy

Lori, go here and print the Rite Aid coupon policy which states that you can use a BOGO Coupon with a BOGO sale.

    • Ana

You can use more than one BOGO coupon at a time. I bought 4 cereals, used 2 coupons and got 4 $1 UPS in return. I’m sure you could use all 4 coupons in one transaction as long as you don’t get a mean cashier.

  • Anonymous

Are the Valentine M&Ms individual packs? My circular says Valentine M&Ms cost $3.99 or so (can’t remember, but more than 2)…

  • Mel

Is the Mars candy a single pack? Can’t find in new circular for that price…

  • Barbara A

No $6/2 Motrin coupon in Asbury Park Press. I looked on line at insert preview sites and I only saw a $1 coupon. I am very excited about some of the other deals. I loved Emily’s comment… “this is like the best week ever!” I have to admit I really feel that way EVERY week….

    • Larrina

Agreed… every week is the best week ever at rite aid 🙂

  • Jay

I haven’t seen any mars-brand single candies at all, personally.

  • Debbie

I am new to this, but can someone explain to me the benefit of multiple transactions? How would one transaction change the outcome?

    • Cindy

Doing multiple transactions enables you to pay as little out of pocket as possible. The trick is to use the UP Rewards from the first transaction to help pay for the second transaction. This is called rolling. You roll you UP rewards from Transaction #1 to pay for Transaction #2. If you continue to do that, you’ll keep paying little out of pocket and still walk away with more UP rewards to use next time. Plus all your merchandise. Hope that helped. Ask as many questions as you need. There are so many great readers who would be happy to answer any question.

  • JP

Does anyone know if I use UPR can I still get the SCR on the Blink eye drops?

    • Larrina

Yes… it doesn’t matter if you pay .45 OOP, when you enter your receipt you will get any/all SCR that qualify.

  • Kristy

I tried clicking on the aveeno scenario link but it takes me to an error page.

    • Cindy

      It should be working now.

  • Patti M

FYI to follow up from some of last week’s RA posts. I was successful using two internet printed Qs this AM, as Cindy had reported. Just happy they still are taking them after all the discussion last week.

Also, for the first time ever, the cashier adjusted a Q down for me when I asked. I have never had to adjust down before at RA and was happy I was successful with that. Used the $5 any Maalox mfr Q in this wks insert for a $3.99 bottle of Maalox chewable caps. Granted, he did not volunteer to do it but did so when I asked and the manager put the transaction thru no questions asked. Such a nice young man! 🙂 I LOVE my RA and all the staff there!

    • anonymous

Just Wondering why you would voluntarily ask for a Q to be adjusted down? The store is going to be reimbursewd the full amount of that coupon no matter how much the actual item was that you purchased.

      • Patti M

B/c if they didn’t adjust it down I wouldn’t be able to use it at all. I still get my free product if they adjust down to the selling price.

        • Patti M

When the value of the Q exceeds the selling price of the produce stores like Target will adjust down so I tried it here and it worked. It’s play their way or don’t get it at all.

  • Emily

Aww, i’m really sad. I just bought 3 papers, and I didn’t get a single good coupon. I didn’t get the 6 off 2 motrin, which i needed for rite aid, or the bogo free stayfree up to $6, which I really needed, because with a family of mostly girls, we always fun out. I was gonna stock up, but now I can’t. 🙁

  • kj

I just got back frfom Rite Aid, and I didn’t get ANY +ups.

    I bought 4 Special K
    4 Barilla / Hunts
    1 Hormel Compleats
    5 Tylenol Precise

    No UPS at all!

I guess they realized that the food was spitting out so many ups and stopped everything. : (

    • Gina

If you have a problem w UPS printing, call the # on the back of your card. Have your receipt & card # available so they can access your info. They are VERY good about sending them out if you have earned them, you just have to wait a week or two. Good luck.

      • anonymous

Actually you don’t have to wait at all. I called last week less than an hour after my transaction and they should be here within 2 weeks. They are very helpful. Also I had this problem once before…. the manager was the one ringing me up and just took my UPR off my next transaction after switching to a different register. She had mentioned the register was in a sort of “training” mode so no UPR were printing.

        • Anonymous

Maybe I missed something, but didn’t you just say the same thing…that you waited 2 weeks for your UPS when you called in? So you do, actually, have to wait; unless you have a manager there.

  • Jason

We just came back from Rite Aid.

    Bought:
    8 boxes of cereal
1 woman thing that my mom wanted 😛
    Total before coupons: $23.35

    Used:
    (4) BOGO cereal
    (1) $4 off $20 purchase

    Total OOP: $0.19

    Received (8) $1 UPR’s = $8.00 MM!

  • Laurie M.

I did not get the $1 UPS for the Special K, but can’t beat 4 FREE boxes of cereal. When I checked my receipt, the cashier took the full $4.79 amount off with my BOGO Q’s 😀

    • anonymous

4 free boxes is awesome.. but you might want to try calling to get the 4 UPR. I was hesitant to call but after the 4th time it happened I decided to call and it was quick, easy and they were very helpful. Plus in 2 weeks I will get my UPR and it will be a nice surprise for that weeks shopping 🙂 Also, the guy who helped me said that I could get the UPR from 2 months ago that were never received as long as I have my receipt. Just in case you decide later you want to call.

  • steph

are we supposed to get the $1 up on any food? like what about the quaker oatmeal?

  • Susan Z.

Perhaps a dumb question, but for multiple transactions, are your readers actually standing at the register, completing one transaction, then starting another transaction, completing that one, and starting their third transaction, etc. while there are other people in line? In other words, does Rite Aid (and other stores allow you to do that) or are they doing one transaction, walking around the store, then doing the next transaction, etc? Thanks!

    • steph

if no one is behind me i do them all there. or if someone is behind me then i just do 2 and get back in line.
but sometimes, they just call someone else up to another register and i just do all of mine…

      • Susan Z.

So Steph, you can use that coupon that spits out off your first transaction immediately, that’s what I thought but just checkin…thx!

        • steph

          yes, susan!

  • Melissa

I was just curious how/if we are able to use more than one of the same in-ad coupons. They say one per customer in fine print, is that inaccurate? I just want to make sure before I go in because I have never had a pleasant experience with coupons at RA yet! I’m speaking of using 2 of the Aveeno in-ad coupons. Thanks!

    • Melinda

      Hey Melissa,
I used 5 of the $1 off clean & clear coupons in the AD yesterday and they took all 5 in one transaction no problem. I bought 5 face washes ($5.79 shelf) and used 5 $1 off Ad coupons and 5 $2 off printable clean & clear. So $28.95 before coupons, $13.95 after coupons, and got a $10 UP, so $3.95 for 5 bottles of face wash 🙂

  • Laurie M.

    If I buy 3 Hormel Compleats, will I get 6 $1 UPS??

    • Chris

Yes. I bought eight in three transactions at 3 different stores and got $8 UP.

      • Laurie M.

        Thanks for your reply!

  • Barbara A

No UpRewards printed today when I bought 4 barilla pastas and 10 Simply Asias. There were signs and the sale circular said that I should get rewards. Manager offered to give the money off a future purchase. Of course I could call RiteAid, too. I did get uprewards for buying Campbells soup including the bonus $1 upreward. Oh and I was overcharged for 2 of the 4 Campbells soups. You really have to check your receipts. When it gets worked out it will be a really good deal…

  • Kristy

hmm, I bought the campbells soup today and I didn’t get the food up rewards for it. Is this part of the food deal?

    • Barbara A

Today I didn’t get uprewards for each Campbell’s soup, only 1 $1 upreward for buying 4. I did get 2 $1 uprewards for each Hormel Compleat that I bought. I only got 1 $1 reward for each Simply Asia but there were $1 peelies on each one. Still trying to figure out what is printing rewards, seems to be different for each store…

  • Stacey

Just go back from Rite Aid, great deals! They took the Motrin coupon for $6 off. There is also a $2 breathe right coupon inside the breathe right I bought today. So I’m thinking of going back tomorrow to score some more! (I need as many as I can get for my husband’s snoring) 🙂

  • Christie

Hello! Great week and I love your blog!! Thanks for all your hard work :o)
I was wondering – can you stack the in ad rite aid coupons with the manufactors? i wanted to use the clean and clear and aveenos –
I dont try that a lot but I did it twice and one time it went through second time she said I couldnt use both.

    thanks!
    Christie

    • Melinda

      yes you can!

  • Jason

Just came back from Shoprite and Rite Aid, and it was a horrible day. I ended up getting everything I wanted, but the cashiers were so opposed to coupons today. None of them knew their own store’s coupon policy and had to get their manager. The cashier tried to lie to me at Shoprite by saying the Kashi $3/1 coupon was fake because she needed override for it. I was a bit rude after she lied to me and called her out on lying because I know exactly what override is for. Rite Aid was even worse. The cashier was so mad at me for using so many coupons and accused me of copying them. She was looking at the BARCODE. Of course they’re all going to have the same barcode number. I didn’t really say anything until I became really annoyed when she said I couldn’t use them because they were copied, so I said to her, “Are you blind ma’am? ..becase 0101 and 0020 are not the same number. I thought you learned how to read in kindergarten.” I just had to say that because she was being really rude, and she got all red when I said that. In the end, I got from Rite Aid:

    8 boxes of cereal
    5 Aveeno shampoos
    1 Aveebo lotion

.. for $0.75 OOP and rolled UPR’s from the cereal transaction etc. and received $15 UPR back.

P.S. My dad couldn’t find the $1.00 toothpaste in Wags. Anyone seen them?

  • Susan Z.

Do dish which Shop Rite and Rite Aids you went to! I’ve also had rudeness with coupons at Shop Rite in Watchung…

    • Jason

I went to the Shoprite I did today because I dropped a bunch of stuff off at the food bank next to it. I usually go to a different one. As for Rite Aid, there’s only one in my area. 🙁

      • Barbara A

I love all my stores in Ocean County….. I like shopping at night the best, the later the better.

        • Stacey

I shop at the Lavallette Rite Aid and they’ve been amazing! They’re only open until 8pm though 🙁

          • Barbara A

Funny I was just in there yesterday. Not one of my regular stores but I own a rental in Ortley that I had to stop at. Yes, they were nice. I was in there before Christmas when they were open until 11 and I was there until 11 and they were so nice and helpful that night even though I wouldn’t have blamed them if they had tried to get me out of the store. I got some really good deals that day and they were so funny because they were so happy for me…. Like I said I love all my Ocean County stores.

  • steph

fyi-i got the ups for the special k and the barilla
no extra ups for the tuna that was 4/$5 (so i returned it)
oh and i got my $20 bonus!!! wahoo.
    riteaid rocked today!
cvs was a bit more tricky…maalox prices were higher than posted here. and they didn’t have the big airwick refills only the compact ones. and the computer didn’t want to take the q but the manager overrode it ….after i put up a bit of a fuss. i mean, it says freshmatic on it. what does it matter if it says compact or not after it? so confusing sometimes…..
anyway, love this blog!!! thanks cindy and everyone for helping me save lots of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(so with the ups printing on the special k that is a decent moneymaker huh?)
oh and my kids were thrilled that i brought home special k. my little one grabbed the strawberry one immediately “k” “k” “k please”
and my older one was so excited i found the one in the blue box! (blueberry)
    its the little things…

    • Jason

That’s so great to hear! Nice job! 🙂

      • Susan Z

Jason, at which Shop Rite location did you go? I sometimes go to several in my area, have noticed they are all getting tougher in Union County…how about you? Curious…thx!

        • Jason

I live in Stamford, CT. They’re all getting tougher too.

    • Barbara A

You got uprewards for each Barilla that you bought? Was it the spaghetti? I didn’t get it the other day. Maybe I will try again at a different RiteAid.

      • steph

yes, i did it in its own transaction, because i wasn’t sure about it….
i bought 1 whole wheat spaghetti, 1 reg. spaghetti, 1 penne, 1 elbows.

  • Joyce

I went to Rite Aid to do the $25 aveeno/lubriderm deal
I bought 1 Lubriderm adv terapy at 7.99 2 Aveeno Baby Lotion @ 5.69 each and 1 Aveeno Shampo at 5.99 however the Supervisor who was ringing up my purchases said I could not do a coupon from the manufacturer along with the Rite Aid in-ad manufacturer coupon which I did not understand. So I was only able to use the $1.00 Rite Aid manufacturer’s coupon for the Lubriderm, (2)$1 coupons Aveeno Baby/Body lotion Rite Aid manufacturer’s coupon and $1.50 coupon for Aveeno Shampoo…I was not allowed to have the additional $1.50 coupon off the Lubriderm coupon and (2) $1 off Aveeno body lotion/ baby products. Is that correct?

    • Joyce, I was wondering this too and I checked the link to Rite Aid’s coupon policy Cyndi provides at the top. According to this policy, you can stack the in-ad manufacturer’s coupon (UPC starts with 49) with a regular manufacturer’s coupon (UPC starts with 5). So the cashier helping you was wrong. I’m going tomorrow to try this same deal, and i’m taking a copy of the policy along with me!

  • Barbara A

I just came from Rite Aid. (open 24 hours) No 2nd $1 uprewards printed tonight. Not on the Hormel Compleats, not on the velveeta or Kraft macaroni, I’m not even sure that I got individual ones for the Oberto jerky. Is anyone else still getting two for the Compleats?

  • steph

has anyone received the food ups for the tuna? i saw it posted on another site that you can get the ups for the tuna but i never received any…. anyone have any insight on this?

    • Cindy

I’ve been trying to find out myself. I’ve been hearing that it hasn’t been working anymore.

  • Purvi

I went to rite aid today to take the advantage of Aveeno deal. It was a mess. I thought I bought enough worth of prodcuts but when I did not get the uprewards back they said you would have to count coupons also. Well, they let me use both rite aid and manufucutre coupons but I was allowed only one rite aid coupon for aveeno. Cashier said it says on the coupon one per customer. They were upset when I told them to refund me and re ring everything (I added one more item to make it to 25 dollars). My rite aid is small one and only runs on one cashier and one manager. so it took forver to fix it. But finally I got back $10 in uprewards along with $1 upreward for Aveeno. They told me next time if I don’t get uprewards as advertised I would have to call corporate. Don’t you hate when cashiers/managers don’t know how their reward prorams works and what is their coupon policy?

  • Kathy

I went to Rite Aid today for the Hormel Compleets and only received 1 UP for each one I purchased. Last night I received 2 UP for each one. I called corporate and asked them what changed overnight. First, I had to explain the month long food promo for the additional $1 UP. I spoke to 3 different people and no one had any idea what I was talking about. After 30 minutes on the phone, they said they would mail me what I think didn’t print. They asked me the store info because they were going to notify their tech team to make sure the store had all the right computer info. Since I went to a different store last night, they are thinking that there was a computer problem with the one I went to today. Of course, since they really didn’t know what I was talking about, how could they tell me what happend.

  • Patti M

FYI…if you use the insert Q to buy Maalox at RA, I just discovered on the SCR site that there’s a single check rebate for $2 until 1/22 which makes this a monemaker, not just free!! WOOT!!!

  • David

These deals are great but the $1 ones are always difficult at my Rite Aid. For some reason most of their cashiers refuse to except more UP rewards than items.. they make sure to limit it to one per item even though the computer doesn’t beep.

    • JP

I think that’s bull because their coupon policy doesn’t say that. I know Wags has a policy like that (coupons must equal items), but the RR at wags says “MFG coupon” on it. Which of course it is not. I haven’t had a problem with RA in CT. They will pretty much scan whatever. I’d say you could take their coupon policy in there to show them, but I don’t know how deep I’d want to get with it. I think, as a man in this coupon game, we naturally lean towards impatience. Most guys I know wouldn’t dare coupon for fear of some sort of lost machismo. I’m new to this but I wish I’d known sooner, I’d probably have a new car right now… a macho car LOL!

  • christina mathers

I went to Rite Aid again today to get more free Special K cereal-I got all the UPs for those, but only $1 for buying 4 cans of tuna-no additional ones. Oh well, I didn’t pay any money out of pocket for the tuna so I am happy. Also, my RA let me use the $6/2 printable coupon- Yeah!! Thanks again for all you do I love it!!

  • Ruth

I purchased the Hartz Biscuits, 2 boxes of biscuits for 7.48 and used 2 $2.00 coupons that it deducted 4.00, I paid 3.48 and got back $1.00 UPR, so they are 1.14 each after coupons and UPR, not a bad price for a big box of biscuit. I think the cat treat would be a better deal but they were none at that particular Rite Aid.

Another good deal is that Purex Softener, a big bottle for 3.99, BOGO and you get $1.00 UPR.

  • Jason

Does anyone know if the UPRs are still printing for the PASTA?

  • Anonymous

Has anyone been receiving the 2nd UPR on food purchases recently?

  • Jason

My aunt just went today to get Special K and the $1 UPRs aren’t printing anymore.
