Walmart Competitor Coupon Clarification

I received an email from Walmart clarifying the issue with the Competitor’s coupon.  Here is what they had to say:

Walmart will continue to accept all valid manufacturer and print-at-home internet coupons with a scannable bar code. In addition, Walmart will also match the price listed on any valid competitor coupons that include a printed retail price for a specific item (e.g., $2 for a 24 oz. bottle of Clorox).

I thought they price matched anyway but I must admit I don’t shop at Walmart. The odd one or two good deals each week are not worth the hassle to me!

      I’m with you.

@ Dee I am so with you on this one. I stopped going to Walmart when I started couponing in Oct. I had WAY to much TROUBLE with them not wanting to take my coupons. Now I shop at CVS, Walgreens, HEB, and Target. I have had no probs.

Thank you so much for sharing this Cindy. I have been told by my local Wal-Mart that they did not price match anything that requires a “store shopping card” and this is clearly incorrect according to the official policy. I’ll print it out and take it with me. I love your site! It makes the expensive grocery part of adjusting to moving to NJ a lot easier on our budget.

The price matching is the same at Target, Paige. Our local Target will not price match any “store loyalty card” prices either. They pulled out the “rule book” one day and told me they couldn’t match a price because the sale was only good for those having a “store card.” Seems silly to me-anyone can get those sale prices even if they don’t have a card-all you have to do is ask the cashier and they have a “store card number” that they will enter for you.

So does this mean that they will honor a Walgreen’s in-ad coupon that shows a price, like this week’s $.19 for papermate mechanical pencils? That would be great since sometimes my Wags is already out of the good sale items.

Yes that is exactly what it means.
