Head on over to IHOP on Tuesday, 3/1 between 7 am & 10pm for and get a Free short stack of their famous buttermilk pancakes to celebrate National Pancake Day. In return, consider making a donation to support local children’s hospitals through the Children’s Miracle Network. Sounds like a great deal to me!

This shopping trip by reader Lynn needed nothing more then what she wrote:
I am so glad that you have started a “couponing for a cause” section on your website! I started couponing 1 year ago, and after a few months, it became clear to me that I had an opportunity to make contributions to local food pantries in a significant way. Each week I’d find several “freebies” (or near-freebies!) and grab them for the pantry. I’ve been donating to the Bucks Country Housing Group (BCHG) in Doylestown PA and it has given me so much joy. It has also given me an opportunity to start teaching my 3-year old daughter the concept of giving and charity (See photos. Please excuse the mess in the photos–we are in the process of remodeling!)
Of note, I’ve found it very useful to talk to the people at BCHG about their needs. You’d me amazed to find out what they do and do not need. For example, my pantry always gets pasta, but no pasta sauce. They have a lot of peanut butter, but no jelly. They get tons of soup, but no condiments or fruits. The deals at ShopRite over the past weeks have allowed me to help bridge the gap. I was able to get many of the things they need for nothing or next to nothing! Much of the pasta sauce I bought today as part of ShopRite’s week 2 of Dollar Days will be going straight to BCHG. I started couponing to save our family money during a difficult time; I never expected to help my local food pantry in the process!
Thank you for inspiring people to give to others in need.
