Great job!! What paper and which section did you find the FREE ShopRite aspirin Q in?

    • Donna

The free aspirin Q was hidden in the pages of the Sunday Star Ledger… by itself, not with the usual 2 page ShopRite spread

      • Beth

Thanks. I looked through the Courier Post and I did not see it in there. Oh well.

  • Melinda

Awesome. Where did you get all the $1 Quaker coupons from??

    • Donna

      Recycling bin : )

  • Patti M

    SO awesome!!

I was going to ask the same question as Beth regarding the aspirin Q.

  • Cindy Confalone

I am shocked my ShopRite will not let me use my Price Plus Card more then 3X in one day, were your purchases made in multiples days or do you have more then one Price Plus Card?

    • Donna

This did involve multiple trips over more than one day and several different stores… I do NOT clear out shelves because it drives me nuts when other people do that… though I have to say that each store seemed very well stocked with these items!

  • christina mathers

Did you use the same price plus card for all the transactions? Usually I can only do 1 transaction per card per week so the catalinas print.

  • Dave

    What’s a “cat”, as in

    1 $5 cat from 4th order

    ??
    Thanks,
    Dave

    • Donna

A “cat” is a catalina coupon… generated by the sometimes fussy little machine next to the register. Sorry for the confusing slang there! If you click on the term “catalina” where it is clickable, you will go to a list of common coupon related terms, some of which are a little confusing sometimes.

I just got back from a different Quaker deal. Bought 5 bags of the Quaker Rice cakes at 1.50 each. Got a $5 catalina AND a coupon for $2 off 5 bags of Quaker Rice cakes. So I turned around and bought another 5 bags! And got the same catalina and coupon again.
Total oop=$7.90 (got .10 bag credit)
remaining: $5 cat and $2 coupon

So it turns out to about 9 cents a bag.

  • Kris

Wow, excellent stockpile of oatmeal! Too bad my SRs in Jersey City and Union City won’t let me get deals like this. I can use up to four of the same coupon in a single transaction but only the first coupon will double. At least they let that first coupon to fully double.

    • Donna

Kris…. the $1 Quaker coupons do not double at my stores either. Only the .75 cent Santa Cruz coupon doubled in this scenario. I have actually kept spreadsheets of my shopping trips for 3 years now, with store coupons in their own column. When I looked back at them, I was stunned to see that I save far more on high value coupons and sales than doubles. My weekly “double” average was only around $5… so while I won’t turn down a double (!), I am not sure it will hurt you as much as you might think.

I would concentrate on finding higher value coupons in your situation… for example, if you print coupons, some zip codes will have a .75/1, others will have a $1/1… in stores that fully double, the .75/1 would be worth more ($1.50) but in YOUR stores, I would print one .75/1 and 1 $1/1 to maximize savings : )

  • How much gas did u waste driving around to these places?

    • Donna

None. I pass these stores daily on my regular commute.

  • Janelle Blozy

where did you get the santa cruz coupon? Im aways looking for coupons for santa cruz.

    • Donna

Janelle… I used IPs… I am not sure where I found them.. they may be in Cindy’s coupon database if they are still available. The Mambo Sprouts booklets have these coupons (and other organic Qs as well) in them, but I have not been able to find the booklets in my area in several months now : (

    • Donna

Janelle.. there are some in the database here. Here is a direct link: http://www.scojuice.com/coupons
