Reader Shopping Trips: CVS and Pathmark

Who knew picking up a prescription would be fun.  Larrina sure thought it was when she came from CVS making money.  Here is what she said….

I have never come home from getting a prescription so excited! Thank you for all you do and saving my family tons of money. I love that deals come from all kinds of different sources! I printed out a few coupons to see what kind of deal I could come up with while waiting for my script… and the trip was much better than expected!

::Transaction #1

2 Herbashine- 7.00 each (14 total)
3 Herbashine- 1.99 each (5.97)– They were marked 3.99 but rang up 1.99

Total before coupons- 19.97

Coupons Used:
4- $3/1 Herbashine
1- $3/ $10 Cosmetic purchase (Thanks Scott for doing a trial run to make sure this works)
1-$5 ecb (Had to be reduced to $4.97)

Total OOP- .84 received $10 ECB (I did not reach the $20 mark but the ECB did print on it’s own)

And that was going to be it BUT when I scanned my card at the coupon machine for the $3/$10 cosmetic I got a $2 off any excedrin PM and I just put it in my purse to bring home but then I got another $2 off any excedrin Migraine or PM on my perscription receipt so I decided to check out the prices and the 20-24 ct are on sale for 1.99!

::Transaction #2

1 Excedrin PM- 1.99
1 Excedrin Migraine- 1.99

Used both $2.00 off coupons and Paid $0.00 OOP

    PLEASE DO NOT BUY PRODUCT THAT DO ANIMAL TESTING, THE BEST PRODUCTS ARE THE ONES THAT DO NOT TEST ON ANIMALS. THIS TEST ARE HORRIBLE FOR ANIMALS, PUTTNG CHEMICALS IN THEIR EYES AND LEAVING THEM WITHOUT WATER OR FOOD FOR DAYS. WE CAN STILL FIND GOOD BRANDS AT GREAT PRICES. LET’S STAR TO MAKE THIS WORLD BETTER BY DOING SIMPLE STUFF =)

    Sorry I don’t shop at Pathmark. What is Self-Price? So as long as Self-Price adds up to $30, I will get the Catalina for $8? And the Sale price for the cereal is 4 for $6.00 this week?

  • Cathie

    Pretty sure it is a typo. Shelf price.

  • Mike

    I just went to Pathmark and got a great deal. But when I went back to use my $8.00 catalina from the first purchase of General Mills products I figured I would buy the same order again so I can get another $8.00 catalina. To my surprise there was not another voucher. When I asked the cashier she said its only 1 $8.00 voucher per card per deal. I even went on seperate days and made sure I purchased exactly enough GM products for the 8 bucks. I’m confused….please help.

    • Lisa C

      Hmmm….that doesnt sound right

      I have done this deal 4 times already, and received the cat every time – all using the same card.

      What was your shelf prices for the cereals? Did you buy any other products that would have put you over the $30 mark in the 1st transaction?

    • Laurie M.

      I just went back today for my second round of cereal money making and I used the $8.00 catalina from the first time (bought a few additional items I needed like milk and bread) and received another $8.00 catalina. So it’s definitely not limited to 1 per card.

  • Mike

    @Lisa, I just added up my receipt total and it def goes over 30 dollars between the cereal and betty crocker items. I did self checkout and the catalina printer said out of paper. I told the cashier and she fixed it but nothing printed. When i questioned it she told me its one catalina deal per card. Then I read the advertisment and that also says one deal per card. Im new at this and am just trying to get it all straight…so i appreciate your input.

      Mike,
      Lisa is right, it has been rolling. There is a possibility that the machine was not working. Did you get anything printed from it. And ad or anything? The best thing to do is to call or email catalina marketing. Have your receipt with you if you call and they can see your transaction and issue you a catalina through the mail. You can get the info for catalina marketing on the main Pathmark Match Ups.

  • Mike

    Thank you everybody, I will email them now.
