  • how many of these deals/catalinas can you do per transaction?

    • what is a catalinas…..

      • Hi, Athena,
A Catalina is a coupon that prints at the register at grocery stores. Catalina is the name of the company that manages the system and printers at the stores, thus the name. A general $2 Catalina can be used on anything else at the store. Sometimes Catalinas print coupons for specific products.

One of the goals of the Cindy’s couponing method is to get cash equivalent Catalinas that you then use for things that don’t usually have coupons, like meat and produce.

        • Woohoo! Well said. It puts such a big smile on my face when I see that people get the concept. Makes me happy :D

  • Do you know how long this cantina deal will go for?

  • HI CIndy,
When will it be the end of this deals?

  • Also, is the $2 coupon for Scotts naturals toilet paper from the Shoprite Live Right magazine a store coupon or a manufacturer coupon? Can I stack that with the $1 manufacturer coupon for the toilet paper for this deal? (we are almost out in our house, lol)

    • One of the Shoprites I go to insisted the $2 coupon was a manufacturers coupon. But in the end they let me stack. If you look at the other coupons in the Live Right magazine, they clearly state “manufacturers coupon” on them, where this one didn’t. The second Shoprite I go to didn’t give me any problems… So I think it will be up to your store as to how they read the coupon.

  • Can you keep rolling these or do they eventually cut you off?

  • I am headed to Giant soon so I will see if it works there :)

    • Jess-
Did it work at Giant? If so, I’m going to do this tomorrow. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it worked for you!

      • Yep worked at Giant. And, Jess sent me an email for her Giant trip…

I bought a single roll of t.p for .87 and a tub refill for $1.99 ( we didn’t have the Scott coupon for .50 off in our smart source) and
        received a $2 catalina

        • Thanks, I’ll have to go to Giant for this tomorrow. Went to SR this evening and got the t.p for $1.14 and the wipes for $2.29. With the coupon and catalina cost me $.43. Know this is a good price but, seeing some of the SR stores have a lower price for these make me kind of feel I was riped off. LOL!

        • Thanks Cindy! I’ve gone to 2 different Giants (Perkasie, PA and Warrington, PA). Wipes refill is $1.99 and single roll of TP is $1.06. I found 10 of the wipes coupons so will be using those up. Thanks so much! I was running low on baby wipes so these will really come in handy. My youngest son is 3 and doesn’t appear to ever want to use the toilet – gotta have these wipes on hand!

  • Do the two items have to be from different categories or can you just get two single rolls of TP per transaction?

    • i tried this last time (2 roll of TP) and it didnt work

this time i just got back from my shoprite, 1 TP for 1.14, 1 flushable wipes 2.29
net out of pocket 43 cents (+ tax??? maybe)

  • Can I buy 4 sets in one transaction and just get the 8.00?

  • woo hoo! I love this deal! Thank you Denise and Cindy!

  • My Shoprite said you aren’t allowed to use catalina’s the same day you get them…i tried it whith the solo catalina….is this true?

    • the girl at my register said the same thing today.
but i have definitely used them same day before

    • Nah, that’s wrong – you can use them as soon as you get them (though not on the order that produces them, obvs). Just go to a different cashier for your subsequent time(s) through.

  • I just went to stop and shop down the street from me to see if they had the deal and they did. HOWEVER, when I tried to roll the cat it beeped and wouldnt work. The manager came over and tried to override the coupon and even that wouldnt work. They had to give me $2.00 out of the register and took my coupon in exchange. PLUS, another cat didn’t print out. I was soooooo annoyed!

    • Yea Stop & Shop is the worst with rolling catalinas. It’s a weird way their registers are set up. But, the good news is, it’s working at Stop & Shop too!

      • let’s hope shoprite doesn’t upgrade their systems like stop and shop!!! ;)

        • You can’t even use catalinas on regular purchase let alone trying to roll them. Such a headache. I’m trying to roll the Kelloggs cereal deal this week and it is such a pain every time I use the $7 OYNO. Still worth the trouble for 50 cents a box.

        • Just got back from ShopRite and this happened to me to using the cat from the first on the second. Manager said “I was’nt spending enough $$$??? Which I knew was not a valid statement. I was super nice though and she pushed it through. We did the deal two more times again at the same store and it worked fine so I don’t know what the problem was. Don’t usually frequent the store we went to tonight so I was hoping for no problems!

    • One the managers at my Stop & Shop (Toms River) told me to avoid the self check out and the scan it gun if I’m trying to do a deal like this. She said more than half the time the instant savings don’t come off, the catalinas don’t print, etc. I don’t know if you were using any of those, but I hope this helps!

      • Uh oh, I shop at the S&S in Toms River, and I was hoping to try this deal today. I guess I will see what happens.

Are the single rolls priced at $1.00?

        • I shop at Toms River store also. My $7 OYNO for cereal didn’t scan at regular register. Sometimes they ask you to pay then get cash back at customer service, sometimes the head cashier will put it through as cash and go get the money herself. It may be easier to use self check out right next to customer service and then get help when it doesn’t scan there either :-(
FYI: Scott paper towels are $1.50 this week so adding that into the Scott deal, get another $1 back oyno.

      • I should clarify- the stop and shop I was referring to is the 1 off of route 70 in toms river, not the route 37 store.

  • Okay not sure where the Scott’s tissue is 1.00 but at the Hillside Shoprite they were 1.14 so I ended up paying .33 cents each for all4 orders since I used my 2.00 catalinas from my purchase of my 4 shampoo deals…awesome quick trip. Thanks for finding and/or posting the deals u are amazing and I really appreciate all that u do Cindy.

  • Do you think it’s working at the New England Stop n Shops? The gift certificate Catalina deal didn’t work around here.

  • Just went to Shoprite. They had the Scott Toilet Tissue 1.25 and the flushable for 2.50 a piece so with the coupon my total came out to 3.04… I thought it was still a good deal cause I received the 2 Dollar cat. Also, I am in Staten Island..

  • Hi all, did anyone know where to buy the coupon please. My insert only have $1/2 scott wipe. Thanks.

  • I just got back from the Shoprite in Phillipsburg, NJ. I purchased a 12 roll Scott Naturals toilet paper and Scott Pick A Size 6 roll of paper towels, but did not get a Catalina :( I was able to stack the Living Right coupon and an MQ, so that worked out.

    • Yvette, I did a similar deal and also did not get the Cat. I bought the 12 roll of the Scott naturals, using the $2 Live Right coupon and the $1 manufacturer coupon. Then I also purchased a tub of the wipes and used the $0.50 coupon for the SS insert. The Cat did not print for me : ( Any ideas why Cindy?

      • Hmm, no clue why that wouldn’t print. You clearly purchased a Scott product from 2 different product lines. I would contact catalina marketing and your receipt info and have them look into it. Since you both did the 12 roll Scott Naturals, I’m guessing it’s something with that.

        • i will contact catalina marketing and have them look into it. this site has saved me lots of $ so thank you cindy for all of your time and effort!!!

  • Thank you Denise and Cindy!!!!

  • i did not get either of those ss coupons :( how dissapointing..

  • I bought 2 single rolls at Warminster and did not get a cat. I did get 2 cats for different amts off bigger packs of paper towels.

  • Went to S&S and the deal worked!!! I went thru self checkout and rolled the Catalina 5 times. No one was in line behind me so I only inconvenienced myself, lol. The cashier at self checkout was awesome, as she did have to help me when the $2 Catalinas wouldn’t scan. Other than that all of the Catalinas printed without an issue. I got 5 single rolls of toilet tissue and 5 tubs of flushable wipes for $1.20, plus another $2 Catalina. Woohoo!

  • CINDY, CAN I USE $0.50/1 FROM WIPES TO BUY BATH TISSUE? I ONLY HAVE $1/6 OR MORE BATH TISSUE.
    THANKS, JULIA

  • I had no problem with these @ Shoprite, but the single rolls were $1.14 at my store. Still a great deal!

  • Here’s a stupid question, what if I had say 50 coupons for the wipes and I did your suggested deal (.09 after catalina) is there a limit to how many catalinas I would get on one particular order? Like would I get 25 $2.oo catalinas or is there a cap?

    Thanks

    Mike

    • I doubt if shoprite will let you use that quantity of coupons in one check-out.
Perhaps your store is an exception to the rule, but most SR are max 4 identity coupons per check-out.

    • My store in Newark, Delaware has no limits. Although, I don’t think buying all those in one transaction will work. I did it a few times in seperate transactions this morning. Worked great. Also, this Scott deal works until 7/10… I think I saw this somewhere in these messages. It’s a great deal, isn’t it?!

      • Erin,

How much were the wipes & tp at the Newark store? I went to the one in Stanton yesterday & the TP was marked $1.14, but rang up for $1. The wipes were $2.29.

I did 2 transactions before work yesterday @ the self check out. No problems. Went back later in the day & did 3. The first 2 went through no problem, the third one said I needed an approval. The cashier keeping an eye on the self-checkout put it right through with no issues.

  • MY SHOP RITE (EATONTOWN) DID NOT ACCEPT I USE $0.50/1 WIPES TO BUY BATH TISSUE. THE WIPES ARE GONE. I BOUGHT 1 PAPER TOWEL AND 1 BATH TISSUE AND I GOT MY $2.00 CATALINA.

  • Hi all, did anyone know where to buy the coupon please. My insert only have $1/2 scott wipe. Pleeeeeeeeease Thanks.

  • I just got back from Wegman’s and they had the Scott naturals refills for 1.99
and the Scott’s TP for .99

if the deal is working there , it would only the tax (if there is any tax) you would need to pay.
I didn’t get a chance to try it, because i didn’t have my coupons there ( i was only there for my lunch hour from work)

If anyone gets a chance to try it there, let us all know please

  • I love this deal so much I wan to buy some more of the wipes coupons from coupondede. But what other coupons should I buy to reach the $5 minimum? Ideas?

    • Did you check ebay? That way you don’t have to buy ones you don’t need.

    • I usually look for Q’s for products that I would buy normally. Sugar, any meat or pet food products, coffee, plastic wrap or foil. You will be surprised at what you find.

  • Just got back from shoprite in fairless hill pa. rolled the catalina twice and got 3 rolls paper towel, 3 rolls tp, and two flushable wipes for $0.74 ( I had a 4 dollar cat from before and a 1 dollar cat from before) Cant wait to get more coupons and do it again!!!

    • It’s addicting, isn’t it? LOL. My Giant store doesn’t carry single rolls of paper towels, so I have been just getting tp and wipes. I wish I could roll it with some paper towels.

  • Has anyone experienced being told that Shoprite does NOT accept printed coupons unless they have yellow dots or markings around the expiry? All my coupons were rejected at the Neptune and Lakewood shoprites. Even those printed from the shoprite link! I’m on the phone with customer service now but would like to find out if this is happening elsewhere.

    • The lakewood Shoprite has given me a hard time before with printed coupons (I use a laser printer that prints in black and white), but they usually call someone over and approve the coupon. Go to Jackson, they are awesome!

  • I went to the Stop and Shop to do the deal. Overall it was great . I had other groceries so for transaction 2 I left an item to pay with the tp and wipe and that worked fine using the 1st 2 catalina but for transaction 3 I only had the tp and wipe total 3.24, get 1 from mfg wipe coupon then 2.24 but the 2 would not scan. It was at the self check out and the girl said it was not going thru. Does anyone know what happened. I want to go back and do it a few times without buying other groceries. Thanks.

    • I went to Giant Pa and each time the cat beeped and they had to push it through. I hate when that happens, but the cashier was very nice. I was able to roll it 5 times that night.

  • What is this magazine you are talking about? The one that has the coupon for the Scotts TP in? And how do I get it? Also are there anyone of you who live in Suffolk county NY who want to get together and shop? I am just a beginner and want to really learn the ropes….

    thanks…

  • Has anyone tried this cat deal at PathMark? I rcvd a sweet $2 cat coupon on the wipes on my last order and would love to do the deal there. TIA

  • Is it a general catalina or a Scott specific catalina?

  • By the way, anyone have catalina email for me to contact them

  • Thanks in advance, and everyone have a wonderful July 4 weekend.

  • so does this catalina deal work at piggly wiggly???
