Reader Shopping Trip: CVS and ShopRite

Allison had a day off from work and saved a ton at ShopRite & CVS.  Great job!

I lucked out not having to work today due to a power outage at work…since I wasn’t able to go out on this coupon haul during the storm yesterday :-) I decided to try for the CVS Gas card for the first time this summer. We were nearly running out of paper towels, so I figured it’d be an optimal time to partake. Thanks to your tip on the visine- I was able to spend only $12.29 in two trips and receive the $10 gas card! I also made a quick stop at Shoprite for some groceries– we didn’t need many, but the deals were too good to pass up! I was very light on coupons at Shoprite, but they have a ton of really great deals this week that require no coupons at all!

Have your guests bring their favorite side dish or dessert! Not only will this cut down on your costs, but you know your guests will love the food at your party! This also could be fun because it could be a contest to see whose food is the favorite of the crowd! It is deffinetly a convorsation starter!

Decorations

Keep your decorations simple. Maybe you have some flags left over from the 4th of July or you found some cute chip trays at the dollar store! Keep it simple because the food and the people around you are the main attraction!

How to Help Hurricane Irene Victims

For some of us in NJ the hurricane was nothing more then a bad storm but for some NJ and surronding areas, residents have lost homes, cars and more.  The flooding has just taken over some towns.  So, I wanted to put together a list of organizations that are offering relief in the area.  Of course, the Red Cross is the biggest, but many local organizations and Churches are pulling together to help out their communties.

This list is short right so please leave information in the comments of any other organziation or collections efforts that you know of so that we can add more to this list.
