Why can’t I find that Near East coupon from the insert (not the print one) on any clipping service websites? Does that coupon really exist? (lol)

Thanks Cindy!

Lianne I didnt have the coupon in my insert either…….But if you have a Stop&Shop close to you there is a coupon booklet called “Fall into Savings”. It has a coupon for a 1$ off one box of Near East Couscous!!!! Also has a lot of other great coupons ..

For anyone interested in the PAMPERS Diapers CAT deal, the Economy pack listed is being discontinued for the size 6 diapers in both baby dry and cruisers, the 3 stores by me do NOT have any size 6 left and because it is discontinued they will not be getting any more, this means that the $10 CAT which is ONLY good for MORE “economy packs” are USELESS if you will be needing a size 6 (unless of course you found a store that has them now and if you need them buy them now because as I said they are discontinued) this is also neccessary info for anyone who is currently in a size 5 but may need a size 6 next time, it may influence your choice of participating in this diaper catalina deal

I would wait until the week of the 23th of October. It will be on sale for 6.49 then use the 5off coupon. making it less then 2 bucks. I will be stocking up on these, my husband and his brother use and need them. lol

Reply

adriene October 17, 2011 at 12:18 pm

I am not sure if it is everywhere but in CT, The sale on the Grande tortia chips from last week is still going on. I saw the half off tag saying that they were $1.49, so I price checked it and they were still ringing up at $1.49. It might be worth bringing in your $1/1 coupons with you.

Reply

Lianne October 17, 2011 at 12:30 pm

I saw that at the Manchester, CT store–I think its because they don’t usually stock too many of that item (at the beginning of the week when I went there were like two bags, in a very small space). So they ordered a big display of them mid-week so everyone could get the deal–I thought that was pretty nice of them, that doesn’t always happen :)

adriene October 17, 2011 at 12:34 pm

I am in Bristol, I don’t usually bring my binder in with me because people always stop and ask me if I am going to be on that stupid couponing show, But today I did because I had a pretty big list. Lucky me, 4 bags of tortia chips for $1.96

Kyle October 17, 2011 at 8:40 pm

We need to have a CT meetup! LOL! I go to East Hartford, and I often see binders there….I wonder if there are any LRWC people roaming around!

On a side note, I couldn’t find the Grand chips last week….I will try again.

A CT meet up would be awesome!! Im in Stratford, me and my binder love Shoprite!!!

Sarah October 18, 2011 at 10:23 pm

I’m a Stratford ShopRite shopper, too!! The ShopRite in Fairfield opened about a month ago, too. Both of those stores has been fairly coupon friendly to me! The only issue I’ve had is with my IP – one of the Fairfield cashiers accused me of photocopying them, but I politely explained that I just don’t print in color to save money and that the coupon was valid. Offered to show her the pin number on the coupon, and she said it was no problem. She did double check with a manager in the end though, since she didn’t want problems at the end of the night with her drawer being short. Seemed reasonable to me! Note though that the Fairfield ShopRite has a limited produce section. I find that there’s a remarkably smaller amount than other grocery stores, but all in all the quality is good. So, maybe the quantity shouldn’t matter as much. Happy Shopping!

Cindy October 18, 2011 at 10:30 pm

My daughter (at college) shops at the new Fairfield ShopRite too! If you see a college age kid walking around with coupons, say hi, it’s probably my daughter :)

Reply

Sarah October 18, 2011 at 10:40 pm

Wow!! Then, she either attends my alma mater (Sacred Heart) OR she lives on the campus that I live on with my husband (Fairfield U.). Small world. :-) Her and I should plan some outings together! That would make myself and 2 college couponers that I know of! (Unless the other one is one and the same…)

Reply

Cindy October 18, 2011 at 10:42 pm

She is at Fairfield. Funny! Well, her and her friend coupon. Her friend is an RA on campus.

Reply

Sarah October 18, 2011 at 10:43 pm

Then my husband is her friend’s supervisor! Wow! Super small world!

Rem October 18, 2011 at 10:45 pm

Fairfield U student here(part-time)…another college couponer!

Just got back from doing the deal earlier, got all my $5 and $10 Cats. Was a busy couponing night, there were 4 other couponers checking out at the same time.

Reply

Cindy October 18, 2011 at 10:46 pm

Oh wow, look at that. Small world :)

Sarah October 18, 2011 at 10:51 pm

This is awesome. This would explain why my husbands RA has been giving him your website to give to me (not knowing that I’ve been using it for a few months now) at least once a week since the semester started. This just made couponing (at least for me) a WHOLE lot more awesome. :-)

Starr October 19, 2011 at 11:29 pm

Yepee! I’m from Bridgeport, CT right in the middle of Stratford and Fairfield. I frequently visit the Shoprite in Stratford, but after a lot of attitude this Sunday, I will be doing my shopping in Fairfield. Hope to see some fellow couponers there. LOL.

Reply

woo CT shoppers! i frequent the enfield store. they’re alright, but there’s one evening cashier mgr (rachel) who is TERRIBLE. examines every coupon, wont let any DND5 go through. they also have any coupon over $4 face value locked out, so it needs mgr override. this isn’t a big deal, except when TERRIBLE rachel is working, ugh.

is EHartford better? I’m way up in Springfield MA but EH isn’t that much further, and if I’ll be harassed less it might be worth the drive.

Reply

Alison October 18, 2011 at 10:41 am

I shop EHartford once a week, and NEVER have any problems. They are always happy to deal with me and my HUGE stacks of coupons! :)

Reply

Joy October 18, 2011 at 2:44 pm

Im in Groton, CT and lately they’ve been pretty strict. Anyone else out there in my area? :-)

Reply

RC October 17, 2011 at 10:05 pm

SO exciting to see other LRWCers from CT. I go to the West Hartford Shoprite, and I’ve only ever grocery shopped with coupons like 3 or 4 times. But I find the experience to be so stressful with husband and kids in tow. And my husband never understands why I need to buy 5 of the same thing, even though we would normally pay more than their total cost for a single item, like the windex last week.
I really feel like there should be a couponing or ;slow’ lane! I always feel so bad for everyone who is stuck behind me while they scan 50+ coupons and do several overrides and pricechecks and manager calls! Is it always like that? Or do you do groceries and couponing separately?

Reply

adriene October 18, 2011 at 8:31 am

Don’t feel bad. As long as your not in a line for 10 items or less, you should be fine. I will sometimes tell someone that gets behind me in line that I have a lot of coupons so they have the option to switch to another lane. Why does the manager have to do so many overrides? As long as you are using the right coupon on the right item, The compuer should take it with out a problem. I think you may have had a bad cashier.

Reply

RC October 18, 2011 at 12:16 pm

I may have a few wrong coupons. Last week it turned out my husband had put back the kozy shack puddings so the coupon wasn’t going through, and I insisted i did have two, the lady was a little suspicious haha. when i got home i noticed they weren’t there and my husband said he put them back, he didn’t want the extra calories! And then there was an item i had contacted Francesco Rinaldi about a pasta sauce with mold under the lid and they sent me 2 free product coupons, the cashier wouldn’t accept them because they didn’t have an expiry date!
But so far I’ve always had at least one or 2 issues, then i go home and find a few more on my bill, like sale items that scanned as regular price and cellfires that didn’t show up and coupons that scanned alot lower, this week the pam coupon for $1 scanned as 20cents off!!!
I’m new to all of this. and Canadian if that could make it worse, there’s not much couponing to be done in Canada :D

I go to the East Hartford one too. I too don’t bring my binder (though sometimes I do regret it) because people keep asking me if I am like the people on the TLC show. I tell them I’m just a normal gal trying to save money for a family of 4, that’s all!! =) No way would I have room in my house to put all the stuff anyway. I only save 40-60 percent each time, I don’t get it how they can save 90% or free!

I noticed on ShopRite from Home that Libby’s veggies were still 3/$2 as were the Libby’s Peaches, so if you still had coupons for those from last week, you can still get them for $.41/$.17 a can.

I just ordered more coupons so we could get more canned goods for our food drive. I hate buying coupons, but I only had 15 of each of those and we needed 120 cans of veggies.

Reply

Laura October 17, 2011 at 2:03 pm

What Shoprite lets you go through with so many like coupons? Even if there is no limit 4 on purchase? Just wondering…..

Reply

Cat October 17, 2011 at 2:20 pm

you would have to break it up into separate transactions I think

Reply

April S October 17, 2011 at 2:55 pm

We have multiple volunteers doing the shopping to try and fill 30 Thanksgiving baskets for a local shelter. So for the Libby’s Veggies we are limited to 16 cans at a time ($1/4 X4) and the peaches we purchase 8 at a time ($1/2 X4) in order to use the coupons. This way we’re not doing multiple transactions at one store or at one time. I’ll go on my way to work, someone else on thier way home, someone at lunch, etc. Neither Libby’s sale has a purchase limit of items, but we are limited by 4 like coupons policy.

Did you have a problem with the fruits coupon? my shop rite didn’t allow saying pineapple is a tropical product and the coupon says (exclude tropical)… I think is a bunch of you know what@@@… I email seneca to see what is that all about.

The shoprite in Montague, NJ did not have any of the Campbell Slow Kettle soups. They did have a sign about the misprint though. When I asked for a raincheck, I did have some resistance from the front end manager who said she couldn’t give me a rain check for something they didn’t carry. So I had to prove to her that SR did in fact carry them, their particular store was all out. I’ve never had a problem with coupons there, so if this misunderstanding is my biggest problem, then I’m ok.

Reply

Lady J October 17, 2011 at 5:05 pm

Back with the 40th anniversary Nestle bar that was .25 – I had stores offering to give me rain checks. They told me that they didn’t carry them at their store, but if I found them at another SR they would honor my rain check. I could see if Rain Checks had to be used at a particular location, but since they can be used at any location – what do they care if they give you a rain check?

Reply

Kimberly October 17, 2011 at 6:39 pm

I don’t know. She kept pointing to the circular and said that some other Campbells’ soups were on sale. I told her, I know, but so are these. She didn’t even apologize for her error (and that annoyed me the most).

So I just got back from a small stop at Shoprite.
Tried the Osteo Bi Flex deal, my ecoupon went through first and fine but however the register beeped when scanning the $5.00 off coupon. They would not allow it because they stated it was 2 manufacturers coupons. I told her to take it off and I got back my coupon, may try it elsewhere.
Anyone have any luck with this?

Reply

Michelle October 17, 2011 at 4:55 pm

In Somerville, I was shocked that everything went thru. The Osteo-biflex Digital coupon came off, and I had a $4 coupon that had printed from the cat machine, came off in full. The Schick $2 digital coupon came off, and my $5 manuf coupon came off in full! Wow wow wow! Happy coupon dance!

Michelle October 17, 2011 at 3:25 pm

I went to the new ShopRite in Somerville NJ today. I don’t know if these were sale prices, or grand opening prices, but the SR shredded cheese 8oz was .99 and Hotel Bar 1 lb butter was 1.99 (great prices even without coupons :) ). I have to say I rocked it today using all my Cats from last week. Total savings: $193.87, total OOP $10.76. Yay!!!!!

I was able to load a $2 digital Shoprite coupon for the Schick Hydro razor. Am I able to use the $2 paper coupon also? Would that make it a money maker?

Reply

Tina October 19, 2011 at 3:00 pm

It should work. Last week, I had a digital ShopRite coupon for $1/5 Smart Ones and a printable mfr coupon for $1/5. Per Cindy, both can be used at same time (the digitals don’t double). It worked for me on the Smart Ones last week. I’ll have to check to see if I can access the $2 digital for Schick Hydro–that would be awesome. I don’t want to pay $0.99 for the razor when I got some free on Sunday @ Walgreens using my $5 coupons…the razors were moneymakers.

Bring it all back this week. They may have you return it all and re-do the entire deal or may do a simple adjustment for you. This deal won’t be around next week so I’d do it this week.

Could be Flemington, NJ too. 99% of them are nasty. I have one cashier that I hunt down. She loves when I come in. She likes closing down her lane so she can take her time with my stacks of coupons. I really hate when I shop on her day off!!!

Reply

Lady J October 19, 2011 at 10:34 am

That’s an idea. I always say that they should have coupon lanes – or more accurately “no coupon” lanes. This way the cashier who’s all skiddish about coupons can work that lane and all the customers who are spending $200 on their groceries and look down on you for using q’s can go there too.

I believe (correct me if I am wrong) we could only do one heinz deal per transaction..so to receive the 2 cats, you would have had to do trans#1 with 5 gravy = $5.00 cat then trans #2 4 ore-ida plus 1 gravy = $5.00 & $3.00 cat

I am fairly new to couponing and this site has been soooooo helpful! My total came to over $100 today and then after coupons it was $56.45. I am so excited to get better…

Question: my cashier today wouldn’t allow me to stack 2 $1 off any 2 Jolly Time popcorns today when I bought 4 boxes… I used 4/$.50 off one box first & then I thought I could stack, but she was not having it. I didn’t argue, but isn’t this wrong??

Reply

Kabby October 18, 2011 at 9:10 am

If you purchase 4 boxes of Jolly Time….you can use one manufactures coupon per item….$1/2 Jolly Time (this coupon goes toward 2 of your 4 purchased)…you stated you tried to use 2 of these coupons so your 3rd and 4th box was applied to your next $1/2 coupon. BUT you said before handing these coupons in you redeemed .50 /1 (4 of these)…..so you already applied one manufacture coupon to each of your items.
You cannot stack manufacture coupon against each other. … you can stack a store coupon with a manufacture coupon if the store allows it….my Shop Rite allows this………hope I did not confuse you. Good luck.

I thought I saw an email last week about land o lakes spreads but i don’t see any in the matchups!
Also, does anyoone know if the cat for nature valley is still on? And the Ore-Ida/Heinz from last week? Is there any way your store would print a cat if you had a raincheck and they were out of your item?

Reply

Julie October 18, 2011 at 9:18 am

I got a raincheck for the Ore Ida fries and asked about the cat. The very nice lady opened her drawer and handed me a $5 cat! You could ask at the service desk if they will give you a cat for buying a raincheck item!

Reply

RC October 18, 2011 at 10:20 am

oh thanks i’ll definitely ask when i’m in this week, although, it may be a little late now?

Reply

Tina October 19, 2011 at 3:07 pm

One time I got a raincheck and asked how I would get the cat. They rolled their eyes and acted annoyed, but they printed the cats and put them in an envelope with my name in it and held it at customer service, but gave me the raincheck. After I purchased the items the following week by using the raincheck, I had to take my receipt up to Cust. Serv. and they then gave me the cats.

******FREE $10 OFF COUPON**********

Did anyone get the mailer with 4 X $10/week coupons? min spend $50 after all discounts, so i dont know if thats oop or can include coupon savings? Anyone know?
Anyway, my neighbour gave me his because he knows I shop at Shoprite. I called customer service wondering why I didn’t get one in the mail and they said it was target advertising or something, this one was for people who haven’t shopped in a while to bring them back in. But then last week when I was in the store I asked the manager something else, and he took me to the back and gave me the homemailer! Then a lady nearby came and peeked at what I got haha, so she too went to CS and asked for one and got one. You can get one too!

I don’t either. But $10 off $50 after all discounts don’t help me anyway. I rarely spend more than $25 after all discounts. Should be interesting how this turkey thing shapes up.

Nope. Plus-value coupons are usually dropped “down” to the actual cost/sale price of the item.

Shop rite in South Philadelphia / snyder plaza would not take the $5 coupon for the Schick hydro. They claimed it was fake and showed me a fake schick coupon online from last year with an expiration date of 12/2010 and said they were the same since they had the same bar code. I tried to explain that the bar code had to be the same, otherwise it wouldn’t work for the same product. It was like talking to a wall. I called 1800shoprite and they basically told me “tough ****”. The computers were programed not to take to coupon. I am not happy.

Ruby October 18, 2011 at 10:50 pm

Is there another store you can go to? I’ve done it in ct and they take them just fine. If you can’t go to another store try going when their is a different manager on, maybe one that actually know’s the policy. The problem also could be that it is higher than the item value, so it may not scan right. They can choose to adjust it down to the price of the razor or give you the $5 off. Print off SR coupon policy where it says that they take valid internet coupons, ask them even to call Shick’s cs and ask them if they put out that coupon, or they can search for recent fake coupons and they will see that it’s not. If they don’t want to put in the leg work then demand the name and number of their district manager. It may seem like a lot of fussing, but it’s the principal of the thing. I work in a hotel so customer service is my life, and I know the standard I am held to and that’s what I hold other’s in the same field to. Remember that without us they don’t have a store or a job, so if they fuss remind them that you pay their paycheck.

Lady J October 19, 2011 at 10:45 am

can you price match at Walmart? They’ll take the q and give you the overage.

I have taken it to customer service and have shown them the purchase and proof of the cellfire receipt on the bottom. They have happily refunded me the cash with no problems. They have also stated no one at the store really understands how they work or where they come from. So I explain where I get them from and how they are loaded onto my card. Hope that helps!

I have seen people mention Flanders Shoprite and wondered if you have had any problems recently. Today they went over my receipt with a fine tooth comb and I asked if there was a problem and they said no they were matching it all up and had to make sure with coupons at self checkout. I have never experienced that before there. I said I don;t want a problem if you want to double check and she’s like oh no its fine it all matched up, no problem at all we just werent sure how the total got so low (I did use 3 $5OYNO).

Reply

marie October 20, 2011 at 2:48 pm

Same thing happened to me. I was at self checkout. I used 3 – 5.00 OYNO and as soon as I put them all in the box, the attendant was suddenly at my machine, opened the coupon box and started rummaging through the coupons. I just watched her. She found the 3 coupons, looked at them, and said “that’s alot of coupons”. I said, “I know”. I know with as many deals as Shoprite has, there must be lots of people with that many or more.

4 boxes for $8
I used a SR coupon for $1.50 off 4 boxes of general Mills
2 Kix coupons at .75 each which took of an additional $3.00

If you had mentioned this before, I missed this. If not, I thought I’d share it with you and your readers. The DiGiorno price is amazing this week, especially if you still have the $2 coupon. With the CAT, it’s like $4.52 for 2. And that’s incredible.

Did a great job at shoprite today..I made 2 transactions and paid $8.18 for both! I had logged onto my cellfire account today to find that I got the $3 coupon so for my first transaction I bought 4 dove shampoo/conditioner and used 2 b1g1 coupons and also used 2 $.75 off any dove treatment (which isn’t a shampoo or conditioner but the coupon still came off and doubled!) so in the end I paid $2.23 and got the dove catalina for $3 which I put towards my next transaction where I bought 4 ready to feed bottles of similac..a to-go pack of enfamil formula..2 covergirl products and a box of kleenex hand towels..i used 4 $2 off any similac, $5 similac check, $8 enfamil check, covergirl $8/2, 2 $1 off covergirl products coupons (which im suprised they took as well with the other covergirl coupon) and a $.75 kleenex coupon which doubled and my 3 dollar catalina from my previous transaction so in the end I paid $5.95 and my son doesn’t drink enfamil but i found out if you use the formula checks and then return the item they give you cash back ;) so I paid 8.18 for both transactions and when I return the enfamil I will get back $8.99 so it was a 81cent money maker!! :)

I had a terrible shopping trip at Shoprite today because
1.) all my (7) $0.55 q’s didn’t double. (3) for almond breeze and(4) Lindsay natural olives. I actually had 8 but cashier didn’t scan the other one.
2.) they overcharged me with the olives. the tag said it’s $1.39 but I was charged $1.69. I didn’t realized this until I got home because I was so focused on why my coupons didn’t double. I wonder if the cashier stopped the coupons from doubling. I asked why my coupons didn’t double and she just shrugeed her shoulders.
I went to cs and showed them my extra $0.55 q for almond breeze as proof that the q’s should double so the woman reimbursed me $1.65 for my 3 almond breeze q’s. The lindsay olives was dnd5 but even if I show her my extra coupon, I knew she would just say that the coupons says do not double therefore my q’s shouldn’t double.

I went to SR tonite and bought 2 Digiornos pizzas w/the $2.oo off 1 coupon. However, I never received the $1.00 catalina and customer service says there is no such deal going on….was this a mistake?

I have been planning this weeks trip to shoprite for days and finally today I got the chance to stop by the store. I thought I had it all figured out, but I only received the Laundry $5 Catalina….and I don’t know why the others did not print. Here is my trip:

1- Bounty 15 Pack paper towel @ $17.38
1-Bunce Dryer Sheets @ $8.49
Total: $25.87

2-Swiffer Wet Jet Solution @ $9.58
3. Mr. Clean All Purpose Cleaner @ $8.97
2- Dawn Plus Liquid @ $3.39
Total: $25.15

1- Tide Detergent @$21.99
1-Swiffer Wet Jet Refill Pads @ $6.59
Total: $28.58

I was palnning to buy 2Bounty Napkins, but my store was out and I was told they cant do anything about it so I decided to buy Dawn instead and I had to switch some things around…I am not sure if that last minuted change messed it all up.
When I did not see all of the Catalina’s I couldn’t even go to the customer service because my 1 year old was ready to go home and I wasnt sure if I had done the deal wrong and I just couldn’t waste anymore time….if I go back will they give me the catalina’s?? or was there was a mistake from my end?
thanks

Went to roll the P&G deal. The catalina machine did not work at all. I didn’t even get the digiorno or blue diamond catalinas. The manager confirmed the machine was not working. They gave me all my catalinas at cs, but now it was hard to tell if the deal really doesn’t roll or it was just the machine? At cs they try to give you all kinds of reasons why it might not have worked. You used coupons…….

BTW my bakery had the 1/4 sheet crumb cake for $4.99 and the kid stuff coupon scanned fine.

I tried to use the Farmland milk coupons today at the Paramus Shop Rite and was told that they will not scan so they cannot be used :-( . Does anyone know if any Shop Rites in the area that they WILL scan?? Now I have four boxes of cereal and no milk :-(

Somerset Shop Rite on Elizabeth takes them. I sent my husband tonight and he got four of the 12oz milks. The coupons do NOT scan, but they enter them in manually.
