Walmart has a GE chest freezer, 7.5 cubic feet for $159 on the Black Friday sales ad! Is this a good unit? The price looks sweet compared to what other stores sell this unit for.
    Thanks

I too am interested in finding out more about this. Is this the one that’s been at Walmart for $209-ish? I’m not really sure I have a place to put it. Also, I hear that some of these freezers require you to go and manually change out water pans. Is this really true? And, is this unit one of those? I just don’t think I’d remember, and then I’d have a flood.

can anyone read the details on the canon rebel camera on pages 4-5. it is too small for me and when i switch to category view, i cannot find it. any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

oh good! I thought it was just me. I don’t wear glasses, but in my family, it seems inevitable. Is there a way to make the print bigger? I couldn’t click on any items on the page (but I don’t have the latest whatever). And, I tried Ctrl+ – which made the page bigger, but not the ad. Is there a scan of this somewhere?

I liked it better 2 years ago when the store opened at 5 a.m. Last year, Walmart was hard to get into because the store opened at midnight, but all the big stuff went on sale at 5 a.m. Some people were going just for DVDs, but a lot of people were going at midnight for the big items. They would locate where they would be in the store and then stand there with their cart for 5 hours. And because those people were in the store, security wouldn’t let anymore people in to buy the items that were on sale at midnight. I understand security just wants to keep everyone safe, but Walmart needs to understand that having someone stand in the store with a cart for 5 hours is not making them any money.

At least this year there is only a 2 hour gap between the smaller things going on sale and the big things going on sale.

Anyone know if Walmart is closed on Thanksgiving, and they’re opening at 10p.m.? Or, are they just open all day and the sale just starts at 10 p.m.?

Last year I stood in a cold, rainy line for two hours waiting to get in. What a mess! I’m thinking about replacing the old, heavy tv in the playroom with one of the slim ones. I’m just trying to figure out if waiting in line again this year is worth it… :-/

You can always try shopping from home :) or wait for CyberMonday the deals are just about the same but you get to shop while sitting in bed lol

Last year i was at the walmart by me at 9:45 pm…..did a full walk thru picked up some non black friday items. None of the pallets were covered on black bags yet so i knew exactly where the items i wanted were. Found a comfy spot and waited until midnight…..by 1:01 am i was back in my car with 90% of my xmas shopping done! btw, it was the forst time i ever shopped black friday!

I don’t think this year’s ad is as good at last years at all. I hardly see any of the most popular toys this year mentioned. Last year was great, we walked in around 11:30pm, grabbed a cart, scouted out where things were, waited until midnight, grabbed what we wanted, and were out of there in 45 minutes. We didn’t encounter any of the electronic crazies because they weren’t going on sale for another 5 hours. Now there is only a 2 hour gap which means those people are going to be waiting in the store while I’m just trying to pick up a couple movies and video games. I’m not even sure it’s going to be worth it this year. I’m going to wait to see Target’s once it’s released and maybe go there instead.

Can one just shop for these items on line? Why do people wait in the cold for so long? Most of the stores offer free shipping. The lines get bigger each year. I will not forget that poor soul that died in the infamous stampede. :(

More for the high of it and feeling like you are getting in the spirit of things. I’ve gone out for 15 years this is actually the first year I decided I didn’t want to deal with the crowds!!LOL I guess cause people are getting more and more rude everyday!

can’t we just buy the stuff a few days in advance and return and re-buy it on blackfriday?

    • Nolan

I’m wondering the same thing. I asked one clerk and they said yes but when I asked another they said no. I’m guessing you can but they’re not supposed to tell you.

      • Karyn

Usually they will UNLESS its a special hrs item (like 5am to noon special)
