Does anybody know if you can pay for one gift card with another?

Thank you for the great deal.
Happy and prosperous New 2012 Year to all!

No, you cannot pay for a gift card with a gift card!

I believe you can use one gc to purchase another…

I think you need to pay with either cash or debit card. I am tempted to try this deal, but I can’t imagine what I would spend a $20 UPR on! Not really worth it if I just end up buying stuff I wouldn’t have otherwise I guess…

you can only pay for a gift card with cash or a debit card

Peggy December 30, 2011 at 10:29 pm

that’s not true….I was given a gc for $100.00 and used that gc to buy 4 $25.00 gcs.

All depend on the store. I bought gift card by gift card at CVS and
other stores but super market (Pathmark) didn’t allow me to buy
a gift card by gift card. Ask the store or call store customer service, they will tell you if you can or not.

you don’t have to use it on stuff you wouldn’t spend on otherwise. you could use you $20 on personal toiletries that you would use. Toilet paper, toothpaste, laundry detergent, shampoo, cosmetics, even some food items…Rite Aid has it all, not just meds.

Mia, I was going to post the same question. Can I buy a visa with another visa? using two different cards (my husband’s and mine)? That way we get $40 in rewards and use the $100 visa for gas and food somewhere else.

My boyfriend and I got $100 from his mother for Christmas. We’re gonna go to CVS and get our money maker! Woo! Thank you!

I think it’s Rite Aid Nikki, not CVS.

Does anyone know what “+ loyalty program” means? Is it something in addition to having the wellness card?

Reply

heather December 31, 2011 at 9:49 am

Is this a monthly limit? Or a weekly limit?

I don;t understand the gift card deal. If you pay 106.95 and get $20.00 back hiw us it a profet of $13.95?????

Reply

Cindy December 31, 2011 at 10:39 am

You still have the $100 gift card. It cost you $6.95 to get the gift card and you get $20 on top of that. So, a profit of $13.95.

I went to Rite Aid today (12/31) and I earned a $20 Resolution Reward. Did the reward start early? Does that mean I can’t earn another one starting tomorrow?

Bought the $100 visa even though they only marked the $50 and $25 cards with the resolution rewards and it worked fine (got my $20), so don’t believe it if they only have the lower cards marked because you would pay more in activation fees. Happy New Year everyone!

I bought the visa that you can load anywhere from $20.00 – $500.00 on with a $4.95 activation fee and put $100.00 on it and received the $20.00 upr…..then used the $100.00 visa plus $4.95 cash and my mother in-laws loyalty card to get another $20.00 in upr.

Looks like they caught on to this great deal. Bought the $100 Vanilla Visa today and the $20 reward didn’t print. Pointed it out in the ad to the cashier and the manager came out with a printed copy of an email she had received from corporate stating that the gift cards should never have been advertised as part of the deal and do not count towards it. Manager said she was un the midst of printing signage to hang at the gift card display. She was very nice but said she could not honor what was printed in the ad so I returned the gift card.

Was this your first attempt at it? Since no one has answered the Limit question, figured it may be a repeat attempt.

They really have to honor it since it’s pictured right smack in the middle of the ad. You usually make out better in that case if you argue, since Store Credit cards have no expiration dates.

So yea, there is no mention of a limit on the Spend $100 Get $20 deal anywhere in the entire circular. Anyone have any insight?

If you go to Rite Aid site
http://www5.riteaid.com/savenow/resolution-rewards
middle of this page, there is FAQ by PDF form.
In there, one of question is asking how many times you can do this deal.
It said once for this month.

I called Rite Aid. They said that the $20 Up is not printing but if you call in with your receipt (they need numbers from the receipt) they will issue the ups. Although the manager at my RA said it was a “misprint” I am going to try buying a Visa card and then calling RA back with the necessary info.

This must be a YMMV situation. I got the card and ups printed on Sunday without any trouble. The ad in Philadelphia does have this pictured, as does the weekly web link delivered via email.
