This had me really curious, so, I double-checked my most recent ones, and, went back quite a few to make sure. Nada, zilch, none…no YTD savings anywhere to be seen on my receipts Must be a ‘by-store’ kind of thing, I guess

Giant also tracks
savings. I have 2 cards and my savings is 34k but I shop for about 30 people so I’m there on a daily basis and shop only with coupons.

A quick request can anyone help out with vegaratain coupons or info. It is so hard to shop for vegetarian items and they so rarely go on a stock up worthy sale.particularly the meat substitutes. thaks so much for everything. Chanukkah Shameash & Merry Christmas

Jessica, it seems like for meat subs like morning star, that Target tends to have the best overall prices, and frequently has weekly sales that I find by total accident when I happen to be in the store for other things–they are almost never advertised in the weekly ads. They don’t have a tremendous selection, however. Amy’s brand frozen vegetarian meals are also much cheaper there than regular grocery stores, but again, with limited options.

It seems like coupons rarely pop up for them, and I have found that one of the few things I still need to pay full price for are things like Light Life ground “beef” and the like. I have noticed, however, that brands like Gardien seem to have peelies fairly frequently.

As far as stock up prices go, I’m still on the hunt every week for one. Good luck to you as well…at least with sites like this we can all keep each other posted :)

thanks so much for the info I love lightlife products as well as tofurky it’s just such a budget buster. I often roll cats for these products but it just doesn’t last in our house.

Reply

Shell Holland December 25, 2011 at 7:24 am

If you want tofu and have any type of asian store nearby you should go there. I found tofu for 99 cents at the asian food market near me. And fresh tofu was 4 for 99 cents but I wasn’t sure about buying it since it was just sitting out in the open.

Reply

Jessica December 25, 2011 at 7:26 pm

we love tofu for a lot of recipes but for some stuff we need a more meat like replacement

Reply

aimee December 25, 2011 at 9:25 pm

My husband like Light life bologna and I buy them at Whole Foods. It’s $2.79 there while Shoprite is $3.49 and they rarely go on sale. Tofurky products are cheaper at trader joe’s so that’s where I get them. Morningstar Farms is a staple in the house and I recently have been purchasing them at Target because they have the cheapest price. it’s so unfortunate that they are getting so expensive lately so whenever there’s a good sale and there are coupons available, I would stock up on them ( good for a couple of months or so). Veggie patch and Quorn products are very good too. actually they are my favorites but they are quite expensive.

Reply

Dawn K December 25, 2011 at 10:42 pm

Make sure you write your favorite companies and tell them how much you love them. Mention something about coupons in it and sometimes they will send you coupons. Amy’s mailed me coupons within the week that I emailed them. Good luck!

Hey Jessica,
I don’t know if you every tried Bob’s Red Mill TVP (textured vegetable protien) I used to stick with morning star products only until i found this. You can get it online relatively inexpensive about $2.50 a bag (sometimes in store even less with coupons) I’ve found it at Ocean State Job Lot and Big lots as well. I use it in chili’s, stew’s, for tacos, anything i would use the morning star in this works just as well.

i always have the hardest time getting coupons from the nestle site to print. Go through the whole process, and nothing.

Can someone give a step by step tutorial?

Reply

Laura D. December 26, 2011 at 1:00 pm

Hi Lady J, sorry to hear you are having trouble. Exactly which nestle site are you referring to? I have had no trouble with the coffee mate and the Nestle tasters choice pages. However, the tasters choice page did say it couldn’t print the coupon on my mac…..but the “print coupon” bar was still below the couldn’t print statement, so I clicked on it and I got 2 printouts with no problem…..I have NO idea why it does that. Which site are you having trouble with? Did you try a different web browser? On my mac is safari. The other computers have Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Lady J December 28, 2011 at 9:12 am

i wanted to get the q’s for apple juice and nesquick (don’t know if there are any right now). I do everything they ask, and the print q’s page never turns up.

Lori December 26, 2011 at 9:51 am

H Cindy,
There is a .50 of one on the carefree website!! Great deals!!

Reply

Shell Holland December 26, 2011 at 1:19 pm

So who’s done the nestle deal successfully? I tried to buy two nesquiks and a coffee mate which should have been 8.99 + 8.99 + 2.50 = 20.48 but it didn’t print out so I went to customer service and they said it was after price plus AND coupons so they wanted to say it was 7.99+ 7.99+ 2.50 – 1 -1 =16.48 which would have made me get 3.50 more… so I just returned the stuff to wait and see how you guys have done since it’s always been before price plus and coupons.

Reply

Laura D. December 26, 2011 at 1:37 pm

Hmmmm…..sorry to hear you didn’t do well. Which store did you go to?
The ad does not state after Price plus and coupons …… soooo, that shouldn’t apply. In the past this deal has always been shelf price that triggered the catalina. However, at the bottom of the ad (in my flyer on page 3CM) there are very specific sizes that go along with the products listed. Recheck your weekly ad and see if you had the correct size of the Nesquik. Maybe that is the problem.
I am going soon to get coffee and powdered creamer. I hope it will work, I plan on doing multiple transactions. Will post afterwards.

Reply

Shell Holland December 26, 2011 at 2:54 pm

I went to Marlton, NJ. I might try again at the Evesham Rd. one in Cherry Hill because they’re usually nicer to me. I did get the right sizes… let me know how it works out for you! Good luck!

Reply

Laura D. December 26, 2011 at 4:13 pm

It worked perfectly at the Shoprite in West Milford, NJ. All my transactions were before price plus and before coupons. My first through third transactions were 2 taster’s choice coffee and the catalinas printed. Fourth transaction was 4 of the coffee mate powders which also produced a catalina along with my regular grocery list. Plus the catalina rolled. Your deal should work. Remember to check the catalina machine prior to the cashier ringing you up. The light should be green, not blinking red. Definitely try another Shoprite, Nestle catalina deals usually always go through without problems. Good Luck!!
Oh, I had a good one at my last transaction. For whatever reason, my young male cashier (whom we all love) had to ask for front end help with my Muir Glen coupons. The woman (who is usually at customer service, not front end) saw I had over 4 coupons for the Stayfree and insisted that I could only use “4″ of these coupons because “other coupons” have “no more than 4 coupons per transaction” printed on them. So I had to explain to her that because “other” coupons have that printed on them it does not apply to “Stayfree coupons” and our Shoprite does not have a limit on the number of “like” coupons during each transaction. I did get to use all of the Stayfree coupons because she was wrong. Oh well, the nay-sayers are everywhere. Hopefully it will work at the next Shoprite. Check that cat machine……let me know how it goes!

Reply

Shell Holland December 30, 2011 at 5:53 pm

I went and tried it today. It didn’t work again, but I knew that customer service at Evesham Rd. is better – they didn’t give me a hard time at all, they just glanced at the deal in the circular and then printed it out for me. It must be a problem with the nesquik or something since the coffee mates were working for everyone else.

The carefee liner small packs go on sale for 99 cents at Shop Rite, CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens at least 10 times a year….and half of those times, the packs have a $.50/1 peelie on it at Shop Rite!(making them free). I would say about 5 times a year, the sunday inserts have a $.50/1 coupon for carefree, stayfree and OB in them as well. Sometimes the carefree is a money maker at the drug stores that give you money back rewards. Over the past year, I collected about 50 free packs and just donated them to the Women’s shelter.

Reply

Katie Coupon December 27, 2011 at 6:59 am

Also, keep a close eye on the drug store ads….a few times a year you can get free tampons. A box will be on sale for about $2.99 and then they give you a $2.99 UP reward, or ECB, or Register Reward, making them ‘free.’

Reply

Janelle S December 27, 2011 at 8:06 pm

ShopRite currently has the Carefree liners pack on sale for $0.99(the smaller pack)….and there are $0.50/1 coupons on their website making them free also the larger packs have peelies on them making them $0.49 ea. I definently stock up when the I can get the little packs free and the larger packs for $o.50 or less……I never receive the coupons in the sunday inserts for the $0.50/1 Carefree or Stayfree products

I had issues at the Glassboro NJ SR this morning. I was advised that my .99 coke coupons were fraudulent and so was the $3.00 Kikkoman coupon. This was my first experience with something like this although I will say the check out folks are really examining/questioning my coupons. I was told Coke never issues a full-price coupon such as this. So–back went those items!
By the way, the Sarna lotion is $8.99 this week so with the $5.00 e coupon and the $5.00 printed coupon, I made $1.00.

Reply

ruth December 27, 2011 at 5:56 pm

These coupons were not pdf coupons. If I’m not mistaken, they were from coupons.com and they are not fraudulent. Sometimes cashiers and a manager get together and make up stuff based on their own opinion. Next time ask to see the proof or memo that those coupons were fraudulent. They just didn’t want to honor it.

Reply

Karen December 27, 2011 at 7:40 pm

Thank you Ruth! I was really floored but I could not remember where I printed the coupons. Now–if this happens again, I’ll know what to do! I did stop at the courtesy desk to ask for a copy of the coupon policy as it is not online. They don’t even have a copy to give out!! I very nicely said I am new to couponing and follow all the rules. I also mentioned the store is becoming very coupon-unfriendly. I actually had a cashier tell me last week she hates coupons and especially printed ones. I’m not going to shop at the Zallie’s owned SR this week and will be trying a different one to see if I am treated like a valued customer!

Reply

michele from Poconos December 27, 2011 at 7:44 pm

Shoprite in Cherry Hill would not take the $3 Kikkoman coupon for me. They said they can’t take a coupon that doesn’t have a place to write in the actual amount of the coupon. ?? Why that matters, I don’t know. I’m holding my breath on the Coke coupon.

My friend went shopping last week at shoprite. She was excited to use her coupns, when she was about to pay so she gave her coupons and the cashier said that they dont double coupons that are printed out in the computer no more. She also asked for the manager and they said its a new store policy. Now she can’t go shopping at shoprite no more with her coupons

Reply

ruth December 27, 2011 at 5:54 pm

Shoprites are indepently owned so they make up their own rules. I rarely shop there, most of the cashiers and managers are rude and the prices have gone up significantly. Their coupon policy sucks and they keep changing it all the time. One can do better at stores like Acme and at the drug stores. Kmart announced that they are closing 100 or more store today. I see Shoprite going the same route. As a consumer, I would rather pay a few cents more for good service than save a little for rude service. I have noticed that their customer volume has decreased in the last year.

Can someone tell me how to get a Kraft Food & Family coupon book? I shop at Toms River, NJ and they NEVER have them. I ask customer service and they look at me like they never saw one before, saying they haven’t seem them in years!! Anyone have any ideas??? Are they regional?

Reply

Jess December 27, 2011 at 10:04 pm

They were placed at the customer service counter. If I am not mistaken, it was handed out early this year. So, they are not longer available as far as I know.

Reply

Barbara A December 27, 2011 at 10:36 pm

The Kraft Food & Family coupon book with the coupons that you might be referring to is probably almost a year old. I live in the Toms River area and we never saw that exact one here. I did get a version of it in one of the stores but it wasn’t as good (Buy 2 get $1 off instead of buy 1 get $1 off for most of the coupons) It really was a long time ago and they went very quickly and live on only in the weekly match-ups. Maybe we will see a 20012 version in January? The coupons in the last one didn’t expire for almost a year. I can understand the answer the customer service desk is giving because it really was a long time ago and I can understand that it shows up in the matchups because some people might still have the coupons.

Reply

Jess December 30, 2011 at 1:40 am

Yes. I agree. It’s a LONG LONG time ago. I did still have coupon til last week. But they should all be expired this week anyway. :|

Reply

Jess December 27, 2011 at 10:07 pm

I agree with that that SR is getting more difficult with coupons. The cashier always exam my coupons like it’s some kind of alien object. And one time, I used the carefree coupon (Free after coupon) and it clearly said any size any carefree item, the cashier still called the manager who was far away and exam the coupon. Funny enough, the manager just looked at the coupon and said “it’s all good.” Since that day, I avoid go to her station. hahahah

But sometimes you do get a nicer one or easy-going. They just push the coupon thru and call it good.

Reply

Lady J December 28, 2011 at 9:21 am

One time I had a young female trainee cashier (without the red nametag) call her boss over for every coupon. I had a whole stack so the manager just stayed. The manager approved every coupon, and the whole time the trainee was complaining about how SR shouldn’t let me have stuff for free, and that it wasn’t right when people had to pay for their groceries. The boss was explaining that it was okay and why, but this one just kept going on – every coupon. “How come you don’t make her buy the larger size” “Because the coupon says any” “Then you should stop the coupon from doubling so that she doesn’t get this for free”. Needless to say, this one does not work at my SR anymore. Who argues with their boss over something like this?

Reply

Jess December 30, 2011 at 1:44 am

Now, I just stay with the cashiers that I know are the easy going one. They start to know me too. And I just go to SR when I know that my cashiers are there. I can’t deal with the rude/clueless cashiers and fight every single coupon anymore. And sometimes, it really just for a 50 cents. And a long line starting to form behind me….

Now my problem is I dont feel I coupon well at food stores. I know I save Money at shoprite. I bring my coupons and shop. I read peoples post from shoprite and it seems to me they are doing better than I am. Is there any tips ? Are people having the same problem I am? I figure this year I will learn how to coupon for groceries. I hope I’ m making sense. It just seems I spend more than I think I should at the grocery store. Thanks Andrea

I am with you Andrea. I just started couponing in May, and have been getting crazy deals at both CVS and Rite Aid. Grocery shopping, on the other hand, seems to be a lot more tricky. My shop rite only doubles up to $1 and the Acme’s prices are much more expensive. I am hoping to figure out grocery store couponing too this new year!

work free/cheap catalina deals to pay for your more expensive groceries like meats :)

Reply

jl December 31, 2011 at 5:37 pm

Agreed. What I often do when I see “FREE” and “pay only .19″ or “pay only “.25″ is I have those savings in the back of my mind, then when I do those deals I end up paying more because my store, too, only doubles up to $1. Do 25 or 30 deals like that in an order and it adds up. If I was more disciplined I would calculate out the actual cost, but time constraints abound.
I have posted in the past about having a separate calculation done for we unfortunates who are in SJ, and I think Cindy is working on it.
Well, it’s definitely on next years Christmas wish list. Good luck.

Nestle deal buy $20. get $5. Back. I bought 3 powder coffee creamer @$4.99 (shelf $6.29) each and 1 liquid creamer @ $2.50 (shelf $2.50) I used 4-55/1 coupon. Paid $13.5o plus tax and got the $5. And I rolled the deal. The powder creamer never seems to go on sale and that’s all we use in my house. So this is a great deal for me.

Shoprite in Peekskill has an in-store sale on HillshireFarms Carvers Honey Ham & Honey smoked Turkey for $1.97. There is a peelie coupon on the packages for $ .55. (the coupon says DND, but it Did double) so $ .87 cents!

Also, check out some of the leftover xmas stuff; paid $.09 cents for gift bags & tags!

Yikes Lisa! Ask Cindy to remove your address from public display … Wouldn’t want anyone sending 2,000 pizzas to you on April Fool’s Day would ‘ya? ;o)

I’m pretty new to couponing but wanted to share this as I am pretty excited. Just made dinner for my family of 6:
1 lb. Black Bear Turkey Breast (sliced thick 5.98 lb w/Card & Super Coupon)
1 Box of SR Turkey Stuffing (free w/q from a few weeks ago)
2 cans of Ocean Spray jellied cranberry sauce (both free w/q from a few weeks ago)
2 bags of Frozen Steam Fresh veggies (approx .75 each w/q’s from a few weeks ago)
1 can Cambells turkey gravy (.49 w/q a few weeks ago)
Stuffed the turkey slices with the stuffing and rolled them up, seam down in a roasting pan, covered in gravy. Heated up and served with sauce & veggies.
Total Cost of dinner tonight for 6: About $8!
I bought a second pound of turkey and pre-rolled/stuffed and am popping it in the freezer for a quick mid-week meal once the kiddies are back to school!
