The 2nd Tidy Cats coupon is NLA

The Gillette deal is wrong. Coupon is for if you buy the razor AND cartridges!

Reply

Lianne January 1, 2012 at 10:58 am

No you get an additional $3 RR if you buy the cartridges–if you just get the razor then you just get 5 RR

Reply

tt January 1, 2012 at 3:54 pm

no she means to use the $5 off coupon u must buy both the cart and razor

Reply

Erika Sirgenson January 1, 2012 at 4:06 pm

Yes, but the coupon itself from the PG today states you MUST BUY BOTH. You cannot just buy the razor and still use the coupon! You have to buy the cartridges to get the $5 off the razor.

Reply

Lianne January 2, 2012 at 12:59 pm

Its confusing because the coupon from PG does not say cartridges OR razors, but that is really what it is for. I did it today with just the razor, used that coupon and got the $5 RR.

Jacqueline January 2, 2012 at 9:39 pm

Lianne my coupon says *Buy one Gillette Fusion ProGlide Cartridge (4ct or Larger), get $5.00 off One Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor* and this is the P&G brand saver coupon from this Sundays Paper!

Erika Sirgenson January 2, 2012 at 11:13 pm

You used the coupon incorrectly. See the post below your comment by Jacqueline. All you have to do is READ the wording on your coupon and you would not be confused at all.

Cindy January 1, 2012 at 4:16 pm

Hmm, that’s not how the coupon was listed originally.

Reply

Erika Sirgenson January 2, 2012 at 2:18 am

A lot of these sites were saying it was going to be $5 off the razor but when the actual coupon came out it wasn’t.

I tried the coffee mate coupon on 1/1/12 and it has ended. :(

The Walgreens Alka -Selzer coupon wouldn’t scan and the manager said that they could not override it. it’s only supposed to work on the regular ones which are not on sale.

Reply

jennifer January 1, 2012 at 1:35 pm

I had the same problem. So I didn’t get it. :( I told them it doesn’t specify, just said alka seltzer but they still wou;dn’t let me have it.

Reply

Erika Sirgenson January 1, 2012 at 3:53 pm

Yep same here. I was really upset because I spent an hour getting all of my items in the cart and figuring out my fillers/rolling my RR’s. So I put EVERYTHING back and even returned the first transaction I did. I wasn’t about to recalculate the whole thing all over again!!! I was so frustrated!!! I hate this place. I haven’t shopped there for 6 months because of crap like this. Another time one of the coupons was for Glade oil candle holders, and I went to buy the tin ones and they wouldn’t let me use the coupon because they said it was for the ones in the PICTURE (the candle was the SAME ounces/size and description listed on the coupon). Same thing with this coupon. Same description/size. Wags is the only store I’ve heard of that goes off of the picture instead of the wording on the coupon!

jennifer January 1, 2012 at 4:55 pm

Yup I put all my stuff back to, the girl gave me a dirty look but I wasn’t going to buy it for $8 more than I planned. I am so annoyed with this place too. I think I may give up shopping there, less frustration.

Kahyla January 1, 2012 at 7:03 pm

Some thing happened with me! I was so embarrassed by the end of it I just bought three and I’m going to have my husband return them for me tomorrow. Walgreens seems to make me frustrated a large majority of the time.

Using the picture as a guide is absurd. I have a coupon for a dollar off any covergirl product. It says ANY. Using walgreens picture logic the coupon would have to have a picture of every single product covergirl sells. Unless they want the coupon to be poster sized that is never gonna happen. Bring that scenerio up next time they say the picture trumps the wording and see how they get around that.

sudafed is wrong also

Reply

Cindy January 1, 2012 at 4:21 pm

why is Sudafed wrong? Just an FYI, I have a submit button to alert me of things that are not correct. It makes it easier then me fishing around for corrections.

Reply

Julie S. January 7, 2012 at 5:23 am

You need to use (2) of the coupons is all that was missing as far as I can tell.

Kathy January 1, 2012 at 5:27 pm

Do you know if Walgreen’s will accept expired RR’s? In all the commotion of the holidays, I didn’t notice that mine expired on 12-27 (bad couponing I know).

Reply

jennifer January 1, 2012 at 7:31 pm

I tried to use a $3 one that expired yesterday and they wouldn’t accept it :( Same thing happened to me, plus a $7 at Rite aid that expired. Grrr, hate when that happens.

Danielle January 1, 2012 at 10:01 pm

Does anyone know if I only buy 3 Alka-Seltzers if it will trigger the RR? {Total would come to $14.97}

Thanks!

Reply

Erika Sirgenson January 2, 2012 at 2:26 am

I was wondering the same thing, because that wouldn’t be a bad price.

Linda Hughes January 2, 2012 at 1:34 am

Walgreen’s can be frustrating, that’s for sure! I only want to pick up the granola thins this week but would need 3 fillers in order to use the 4 coupons…not sure if it’s worth it! Guess I’ll go have a look at what they have in the holiday clearance area.

Ja'Net January 2, 2012 at 1:40 am

I live in Brooklyn, NY and the smart sources I have do not have any Alka-Seltzers in my inserts. not from the NY post or even the NY daily news. This is the bad part about the coupons in different areas, not fair!

There are a couple things wrong with this. First of all, where is transaction #1? You wrote to use the RR from the 1st transaction, but you wrote that on the 1st one you even listed.

And on the 2nd transaction you listed, you forgot to add in the price of the 2 fillers you’ll need to cover the 2 RRs you’ll be using in excess of number of products you have.

your transaction #1 isn’t correct mathematically: $5+$5+$1.99=$11.99; $11.99-$6=$5.99; pay $5.99, get $5 RR and $1.99 RR

I tried doing the Alka seltzer deal and the walgreens coupon for $2/1 did not work. I am pretty new at this but I even spoke to the manager and he tried to help but was unsuccessful. Was anyone else able to get the deal?

Reply

Dana W January 3, 2012 at 2:45 pm

I am sooooo done with Walgreens! I always have “coupon” problems every time I go there. The girl said that the Alka-Seltzer (Walgreens) coupon wouldn’t work because it did not match the picture. (I then argued that), Then she said that it was good only on the 12 OR 72 count! I argued again, the coupon states: 12 TO 72 ct! Also, after I tried using a RR from a previous transaction (not an Alka-Seltzer one) and they would not take it. They said that it was a manufacturer’s coupon and I didn’t have enough items! (I did have enough of a sale that there was no overage). So the RR’s a now printing as MF’s? If you shop with coupons, then you’ll never be able to use those RR’s! So long Walgreen’s I will not be taking my business there any more!

I have 2 Walgreens near me that are only a few miles from one another. One is superb and loves couponers. The other is the complete opposite. Guess which one I shop at??? :) Have to say I do my best couponing there.

Reply

ketty January 3, 2012 at 9:57 pm

yeah, totally agree about the RR situation. It happened to me today. I couldn’t use my RRs because she said I could only use one per item purchased. So if I purchase 3 items, I can use 3 RRs. Except it won’t work because I only shop with the coupons so they already count as 1 per item. I just recently started couponing and have been learning a lot but the walgreens RR situation is confusing me. I thought they were treated like cash!?

Reply

Shaina January 4, 2012 at 10:52 pm

RRs are considered manufacturer coupons. If you buy 3 items, 3 regular coupons, and 1 RR you would have to buy a small “filler item” (examples: single pencil or small candy that’s usually 10-30 cents) in order for all of the coupons to work. Walgreen’s is way more confusing than CVS and Rite Aid.

Justin January 4, 2012 at 12:01 am

The Alka Seltzer does not work. But everything else is a good deal. Hay not all deals work all the time!

She is only human, and often puts up ideally what would be nice if it works. I will say 95% of the time, the deals work with the listed coupons and if they don’t she updates it.

Thank you by the way for such a helpful site!
