My aunt tried it they told her can’t take the coupon its fradulent I tried it last week they keyed it in no problems. So I don’t know.

Reply

Laura D. January 1, 2012 at 3:31 pm

I did it last week with no problems. However, I always give my PP card first before anything is rung up. I have had problems in the past, not anymore though.

Gloria January 1, 2012 at 9:22 pm

the front end supervisor today said that “this high value coupon is not on my acceptable list” (she had a binder) but she did accept it for me – since i deal with the same employees often and she knows i have no reason to use a fraudulent coupon – i always point out to them if there is an error or something needs to be adjusted down per their policy etc…

I was able to use the Sarna deal a few weeks ago (when is was the .39 cent deal) and had no problem in CT.

Shita January 1, 2012 at 11:14 pm

Did this deal w/o any problem $1.01 MM yesterday. I hold my price plus card till end of the transaction. the $5 printed coupon didn’t scan. the cashier have the manager check the price of the item 8.99 and she said ok. so, the cashier have to key in. i have hand over price plus card after all my coupon scanned. the digital coupon came right off without any problem. hope this help.

Reply

sara January 3, 2012 at 11:23 am

when you use your price plus after coupons are scanned, your coupons that are under a dollar dont double. so you may be screwing your self by doing that…

Reply

DanaF January 2, 2012 at 10:02 am

Which CT store did you go to? Enfield would not let me use the $5. ip. I was told that they do not allow ip coupons above $4.99.

Mine worked a couple of weeks ago at the Milford, CT store.

Reply

Mary January 2, 2012 at 3:02 pm

Mine worked fine today in E. Hartford, CT. The supervisor did have to put it in, but no questions/problems using it.

Tracy January 2, 2012 at 8:59 pm

I was able to use the Sarna coupon at the Bristol,Ct. store without any problems. I ended up getting it for .39 cents

Reply

Sonja January 2, 2012 at 3:20 pm

I did this today, the paper coupon had to be put in by the supervisor after she read the coupon but gave it to me.

Thanks for posting these additional deals, Cindy! Just a quick heads-up on a couple of items:

The Smart Ones coupon is $3/10, not $3/$10, but, it doesn’t change your deal total, so, you knew that!

Also, for those who got/can get today’s Star Ledger in No. NJ (and, in the delivered copies of the SR circular), there is a Super Coupon for the Progresso Soups – 10 for $10.88. It requires an additional purchase of $10 or more, excluding items prohibited by law. Using two of the $1/4 coupons, that brings each of the 10 cans down to ~$0.89. But, I think (and, please, correct me if I am wrong!), if you buy 2 additional cans at 1.25 each, and then use three of the $1/4 coupons, your price per can actually goes down to $0.87 a can! And, this Super (or, should I say…Soup’er!) coupon is good from Jan. 01 to Jan. 21, so, that is probably the length of time the can can sales will run.

Other super coupons included are: Poland Springs 24 pack water (w/addtn’l $10 purchase) and 5.5 oz cans of Friskies cat food, 24 for $8.99 (w/addtn’l 10 purchase).

BTW, everyone, I started the New Year right by buying, for the first time, extra newspapers at the dollar store (one of my new year’s couponing resolutions!). Got 3 for less than the price of 2 I would normally pay at the convenience store, yippee!

Wait, whats this about buying papers at the dollar store? Which dollar store chain?

Reply

Anonymous January 1, 2012 at 5:03 pm

Dollar Tree sells both Courier News (central Jersey paper) and Newark Star Ledger for $1 each.

Reply

Rocky January 2, 2012 at 1:42 am

Yep, Dollar Tree is where I got mine. And, I learned that trick on this site, of course – big smile!!!

Reply

Jessica January 2, 2012 at 2:09 am

our local dollar tree limits Sunday papers one per family. I usually get two there as my daughter goes in before work to grab one. The others I get from our local Rite Aid as they have both our local paper and the metro ediutions of several NYC papers that often have higher value coupons, and I get the Wellness discount off the paper purchase as well.

Reply

Anonymous January 2, 2012 at 12:24 pm

Which NYC papers have the higher value coupons? I usually get the Times Herald but their coupons aren’t the best.

Thanks in advance.

Reply

Mark January 2, 2012 at 12:57 pm

In NYC the NY Post has the best coupons most of the time. Both the Daily News and NY Post get the PG. NY Post has SS and sometimes RP. The Daily News always has RP but no SS. The GM coupons (that come out every 5 or 6 weeks) appear only in the NY Post. HTH.

Yeah! I emailed this deal in early this morning through the “button”. Not a big fan of some of the soups, but not going to pass the deal up!

Reply

Cindy January 1, 2012 at 3:43 pm

Yep, I was just going through all the deal and I just saw that. Thanks Jen!

Reply

Erin January 1, 2012 at 4:24 pm

FWIW, for those with a Pathmark nearby, Progresso soups are .88 each to begin with, so with the Q they’re .63 a can. No minimum purchase or required amount either.

Rocky January 2, 2012 at 1:28 am

I think, though, that at PM, it is only the vegetable classics line, which seem to be fairly regularly on sale at the lower prices. This sale at SR covers pretty much all lines, such as high fiber, light, rich and hearty, etc. That’s why I thought it was a pretty good deal. I no longer get a PM flier since they closed the one by me, and I only checked the circular on line, quickly, so, am not positive if their sale line is limited to just the veg classics.

Reply

Alesha January 2, 2012 at 7:22 am

Everytime PM teased me in for soup sales…it was always VERY limited selections. Not much we like. So, like you, we stick with SR because we like the lower sodium line. Man, canned soup has a TON!!

Reply

Rocky January 2, 2012 at 1:38 pm

Yep, I’m getting better at reading the fine print in the ads [smile]! Since various members of my family like various different choices of this brand (other than the vegetable classics), I have really been looking forward to them being less than the usual sale price of $1.25 a can!!

Thanks for the extra deals. I still have the $1.50/2 Chex coupon from 12/21, so it will make the deal even sweeter.

RecycleBank has printable $1.00/2 BumbleBee Products, so that would make the Tuna as low as $0.38 a can.

HELP!!! For some reason, every time I go to the Pillsbury site and try to print it says “Your coupons have successfully printed” but I get no prints… Any ideas? This happened the other day too, with another site, but I was didn’t get a chance to ask if this happens to anyone else.
And, Happy New Year all….. It was hard purging all my 12/31/11 coups today but good to start fresh! Thanks Cindy for all you do!

Reply

Rocky January 2, 2012 at 1:35 am

I definitely like the super Q’s during the can can sale. I hope they have the one for veggies, like they used to regularly do. Something like 12 cans for $2….woohoo, would like that one again! Although now, it would probably not be less than $3….! But, hey, even better than their “can’t can’t” wait sale price of 0.48 each!

Reply

Rocky January 2, 2012 at 1:54 am

Sorry, this was supposed to be a reply to Dessa, above, about the super Qs! Didn’t realize I clicked here, while thinking about, and writing that response in the wrong place – whoops!

At any rate, yes, this has happened to me a few different times on the Pillsbury site, although, today, I got at least one print, first, then it happened. What I discovered is that, for some reason, the print seems to get caught up in my printer queue (I don’t know if they are too ‘dense’ or something…). Although I went into my printer folder and clicked restart, it never printed. After that, I couldn’t print anything else until I actually canceled this print….waaaaa!

And, I agree about the 12/31 coups…I was sooo sad with some of them, but, then thought how much happiness they will bring the folks in the military that I will send them to, sooooo….

The Cinn Toast Crunch coupons from coupons.com would not scan at my Shoprite today and their new policy of the week is that they will not take any internet coupons that won’t scan. So disappointed :(

Prudence January 1, 2012 at 8:40 pm

Wow that is terrible almost none of my internet coupons scan…they always have to manually enter them. This will be devestating to me!

If they have the new barcode then they have to be entered manually.

Reply

Rocky January 2, 2012 at 2:20 am

What’s up with these new barcodes and the grocery stores? Were the manufacturers and the grocery stores not in synch? Since Qs are ‘big business’, one would think there would have been some coalition or something, to get everyone on the same page. Although I imagine the re-programming would/will take some time and money for the grocery stores…just wonderin’, you know?…

Reply

Lisa January 2, 2012 at 9:37 pm

I totally agree with you Rocky – these new barcodes are such a pain, none of the grocery stores that I go to (which are several) have the capabilty to scan them, leaving it up to the cashier to decide if she is willing to accept it or not (have been told many times that the q’s with the new barcodes are fake).

I noticed this too. The bar code number doesn’t start with a “5″ either so I was afraid it wouldn’t double. Never imagined that it wouldn’t be accepted at all. I had a co-worker print additional coupons for me from Smartsource. They have the old bar code, start with a 5 and I had no problem getting my 4 boxes of cereal for 2 bucks!

Does anyone know where I can can get a newspaper with all the coupons for a $1 here out in central Long Island?

Reply

Eva January 1, 2012 at 9:22 pm

I live in Islip and none of the dollar stores seem to have it. I’ve heard that if you go to a CVS late late Sunday, they’ll just give it to you free or discounted. But that is very store specific.

Cindy from L.I January 1, 2012 at 10:50 pm

Rocky January 2, 2012 at 2:01 am

Just an FYI, the Star Ledger papers in the dollar store have the same coupons that you would get in the paper from, say, the convenience store. Which means, unfortunately (at least, in my area), they don’t include the RedPlum insert. So, if you are looking for something that includes ALL the coupons, keep in mind it is whatever your area would normally get in that particular newspaper, from another supplier. Around here, we get Red Plum in with grocery circulars delivered on Thursdays. It is not in the papers sold at retail.

Good Morning,
Does anyone know if you can use the Shoprite E-Coupons more than once. I purchased the Sarna lotion a few weeks back and just got another $5 off coupon. I wasn’t sure if it would work a second time with my shoprite card. Thanks!

Reply

Ryan January 2, 2012 at 8:23 am

You Can Re Load This Coupon On To Your Card Agian

Reply

Rocky January 2, 2012 at 1:45 pm

Really? I’ve never seen them available on my screen to re-load, once used, they are gone. This Sarna, for example. I used it, it disappeared, and now, I don’t see it again. Although, sometimes, they do decide to repeat an offer, with a new expiration date (I usually see this with, say, Pillsbury items).

For the shoprite coupons that list 1 per family, do they keep track through the store card? If I go on another day will they work again?

Anyone else notice that the Cinnamon Toast Crunch coupons on coupons.com do not start with a “5″ so they will not double? The ones I printed from Smartsource.com all printed with a “5″ so I know they’ll double. What a bummer! I’m trying to get my co-worker to see if she can find them on Smartsource to print out 2 more for me so I can get my 4 boxes of cereal for $2.
