Thank you Melissa and Cindy. Looks like Planters Peanut Butter is on sale for 2/$5, with the internet coupon $1.50/2 makes them only $1.75. I am not sure if this is a good price but we need some peanut butter.

Check out the Target deal posted. I think they are on sale 1.99 there, making them cheaper this week even without the double coupon.

Reply

Nikki January 17, 2012 at 1:25 pm

I just checked with a mutual couponing friend of mine and she said our Target (Seymour, CT) did not have it priced at $1.99. So sad :(

Reply

Diana January 18, 2012 at 1:06 am

It’s actually Ansonia. I love that Target WAY better then Wtby!

Reply

Maria January 18, 2012 at 7:41 am

I think Walmart always has them priced at $1.99, they are usually towards the very last shelf.

Hey thats a Shop Rite I go to! West Hartford CT! Its a very nice store with nice wide aisles :)

Reply

the original rosanne January 17, 2012 at 1:17 pm

Wide aisles make such a difference! Even though the ShopRite in Union NJ is close to me, I never shop there. Never renovated, it has the skinniest aisles and then they stick displays everywhere making navigating it almost impossible. I’m surprised it doesn’t fail fire inspections because of it.

Reply

Jenny January 17, 2012 at 10:50 am

Looks like there isn’t too much going on but I think there are a few good HBA Prices such as the airborne get $1 back and we have a $2 coupon and the toothbrushes are very cheap. Other than that not much else that I can see buying this week.

Pepperidge farm baked naturals on sale for $2/4. There’s a coupon for $1/1 (in NY). Others might have the $0.75 q,making it only $0.50.

I am wondering if the Lean Cuisine/Skinny cow deal could work this way:
Buy 12 Lean Cuisine 1.77 ea, 2 Skinny cow ice cream sandwiches 3.99 ea, 4 Skinny cow cups 2.50 ea. Coupons to use: 2-$1/5 Lean Cuisine, 2-Buy 6 Lean Cuisine, get 1 free Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches, 1-Buy 3 Skinny Cow cups get 1 free. And ShopRite deal, buy 2 Skinny Cow sandwiches, get 2 cups free deal would also apply. So the only Skinny Cow we’d pay for is one of the cups :) Think this could work?

Reply

Alicia January 17, 2012 at 12:04 pm

i’m hoping so!!

Reply

Nikki January 17, 2012 at 1:33 pm

There’s a possibility the Buy 6 LC & get 1 free Skinny Cow ice cream will attach itself to all seven items making the $1/5 LC’s not work.

Reply

Cindy January 17, 2012 at 1:55 pm

I just looked at the coupon and it looks like we will have no issues using the $1/5 and the B6G1 Free Skinny Cow. The coupon is coded like a BOGO Coupon which means it will most likely attach to 1 of the Lean Cuisine and the Free Skinny Cow. So, that will leave the 5 available for the $1/5 to attach to.

Reply

Annie January 18, 2012 at 9:44 pm

Even better deal if anyone still has the $1/2 LC coupon printed from the target website a while back. Then you can buy 12 LC, use (2) $1/5, (1) $1/2 and the Skinny Cow Q’s… Awesome deal! I’m excited!!!

so skinny cow and lean cuisines r on sale.
buy 2 skinny cow get 2 free and there is a coupon buy 6 leanies get 1 skinny cow for free
so if u buy 12 leanies use 2 of those coups basically get 4 skinny cows for free
plus get $3 catalina

right thats how its gonna work?

Reply

Kristy January 17, 2012 at 11:59 am

If that works, then by my calculations, it equates to 12 LC and 4 skinny cow for 1.20 each, total of 19.24. Then with the Cat, 1.01 each. Is that really a good price? I don’t know because we don’t normally eat any of those items and that’s a big chunk of our normal grocery bill to shell out.

Reply

rj January 19, 2012 at 12:48 pm

i think so.
usually LC r more expensive than smartones.
im waiting and hoping that the smartones go on sale for 99 cents soon. they had it last year.

im gonna buy the LC cuz im on a diet and its good when i dont feel like making anything.

That’s our problem, too. Our whole family is vegetarian, mostly vegan. We stock up on a lot of black beans, chick peas and kidney beans and I use them to make a bunch of bean burgers to freeze. I also make a lot of seitan, which is super cheap if you buy wheat gluten and nutritional yeast in bulk. If you’d like any help with stuff like that, you can certainly e-mail me.

Thanks for all the work you do.
I live in Delaware and had emailed the Shoprite website about the digital coupons I had signed up for recently. I wanted to know if their policy allows the use of a digital coupon and a manufactures coupon because it wasn’t letting me. This was their reply.

“Thank you for emailing ShopRite. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.
Unfortunately, you are not allowed to use both a manufacturer and an electronic coupon for the same item. Our Coupon Policy states that you are only allowed to use one manufacturer coupon per item so if you have already added an electronic coupon to your card, you would not be allowed to use a paper coupon on that same item. If we can be of any assistance in the future, please let us know.”
So I now know to be careful not to load on coupons that are less than a dollar if I already have a paper one since the digital coupons don’t double and the paper will.

Reply

I noticed issues with them scanning at my store too, but its a new shoprite (southington, ct) and they havent caught on. This week every physical coupon I had that had a similar e-coupon attached to my card would beep. I suspected that the e-coupon was the issue but played dumb and the manager came over and manually entered them through. I’m wondering how long before my shoprite starts to do the same thing and not allow stacking of both ecoupons and manufacturer…

Reply

Diana January 18, 2012 at 8:17 am

I had the same issue last night, all of my coupons beeped because of the e coupons.i felt very ashamed ,my coupons were good coupons, but the manager came over and looked though all of them like they are counterfeit or something.I only bought 10 items but it took me a half an hour.I don`t think i will do this again it was sooooooooooooo humiliating for me.still do not no Is shoprite e-coupons manufacture coupons or not?

I’ve had problems using cellfire coupons and paper coupons, but not SR’s e-coupons. From what I understand the e-coupons are store coupons and can be stacked with a manufacturer coupon.

Bottom right of the second page,
Johnson’s Baby Products 2/$5 Must buy 2
-$1/1 from SS 01/08/12 #2 (exp. 2/19/12)
2 – $1/1 Johnson’s Baby Product = $1.50
(Boy my math was bad! Glad I double checked! Last week they were $1.88 after coupon, this is even better.)

Pantene shampoo – $2.99
-$3/2 from PG 01/01/12 (exp. 1/31/12) = $1.49 ea!

Herr’s Potato Chips – $2.14
- $1/1 SS printout (exp. 2/4/12 or 2/8/12) = $1.14 a bag.
Coupon may be NLA. Not sure which type of chips are on sale (ie. Baked, Kettle, regular). I haven’t seen them cheaper than $1.50 after coupon so who knows?

Also for the Johnson & Johnson products there are some printables for the lotion and oil (found under the coupon database).

Fig Newtons 2/$4

Received an email from SR today, touting their online digital coupons, and got a chuckle out of it. Here is, in part, what it said:

“More and more customers have turned to coupons as a tool to stretch their grocery budgets. Whether you’re an occasional coupon clipper or a shopper that comes to the store equipped with a personal coupon filing system, we’re here to help make shopping with coupons just a little bit easier.”

I particularly liked the “comes to the store equipped with a personal coupon filing system” part!! From what I’ve heard about some of the SRs, though, I’m not sure they got that memo [wink]!

At any rate, the email said that they’ve redesigned their Online Digital Coupon Center, so I got excited. After I checked, though, I realized it’s the same one I’ve been using, but, if you haven’t been on it in a long time, or, have never been on it, it’s worth checking out. Perhaps they think this will replace those personal coupon filing systems – Ha! Fat chance!

Reply

Melissa January 18, 2012 at 7:52 am

So, do you have a 5″ binder? I often scan my SR for a male extreme couponer, thinking ‘maybe that’s Rocky’! *smile*

Reply

Rocky January 18, 2012 at 9:08 am

Hey, Melissa, sorry for the ‘false’ advertising! I know the name sounds male, but, nope, I’m not! And, I haven’t graduated to a binder, yet, but, oh, do I want to! That’s another of my new year’s couponing resolutions – I’m only at the zip pouches stage (one for coupons specifically for that trip, and, one for my ‘I can’t be without these, just in case’ coupons)! When writing that, I was thinking about the folks on a recent thread who were talking about all their binders and the different size pages they use, and, I thought, wow, ecoupons are not gonna replace those!

Reply

Melissa January 18, 2012 at 11:57 am

Wow, you totally fooled me… I had an image of a middle aged man carrying around a huge portfolio of coupons LOL! You’re right, though. E-coupons will never replace paper, not until they allow you to use more than one. Give me my paper coupons any day.

Ugh, Shoprite can be so picky and anti-coupon sometimes, like their limit 4 like coupons PER HOUSEHOLD rule (they have this at my SR. However, you can still just go back to the store, use the same card, and use more coupons. Don’t know why they bother with this rule, unless it is just to prevent people from doing 5 transactions all at once..)
