Meh. Not awesome this week. I may not even bother to hit CVS tomorrow. So sad…

Thanks for the match-ups though!

Where can I find the CVS Reinventing Beauty Winter?

Reply

Laura D. February 11, 2012 at 1:54 pm

I would also like to know this, TIA.

Reply

Tarah February 11, 2012 at 3:46 pm

I found it in the beauty section in the area where they display the new “promotable” makeup supplies and stuff

Reply

ag February 11, 2012 at 4:12 pm

At my CVS, I’ve seen the magazine infront of the pharmacy.

Reply

Sebsa February 11, 2012 at 6:22 pm

FYI, it costs .99 cents…at least at my CVS. And it has quite a few coupons in there (more than just the toothpaste) so, just like with newspapers, take a quick look through and make sure the coupon insert is in there before you buy it! : )

Reply

Laura D. February 11, 2012 at 6:27 pm

Thank you Tarah, ag and Sebsa, I always look by the magazine racks when I visit CVS. I have never seen it at any of the stores I visit. Then again my CVS stores are very poorly stocked.

Reply

Marjie February 11, 2012 at 6:36 pm

Thank you! I will check for it.

Reply

Michaela February 11, 2012 at 7:57 pm

At my CVS, they are stacked right in the make-up section

Reply

sanj February 14, 2012 at 12:36 am

i had to ask the cashier for it… they got it out from under their desk ( it wasnt displayed out) … but lucky me .. i found two coupon page inserts in it… made my .99 more worth more :) however.. i din really like any coupons besides the tootpaste … (its the first time i bought it)

Thank you for the match-ups! I’ve had 2 or 3 AWESOME weeks shopping at CVS, but I agree, doesn’t look too great this week. Not for me anyway! LOL! I think I will also “take the day off.” The Reinventing Beauty magazine was up by the weekly ads but my store has been out for the last 2-3 weeks, maybe your store still has some.

I’m totally ready to go-have my $10/50 coupon along with my ecbs! Diaper question- I have a $2 off one box that came from a color Kmart insert a few weeks back. It says manf coupon. Do you think it’s ok????

Reply

Clover February 11, 2012 at 2:31 pm

Thanks Cindy– The Aveeno BOG1/2 doesn’t include hair care, does it? With your experience with the sales cycles, do you think it is likely that CVS will have the Aveeno shampoos/conditioners on sale before the $2/1 coupons expire on 2/29? Also, the CVS Reinventing Beauty had a $5 off wyb $10 worth of GlaxoSmithKline products. That could be used with the BOG1 50%, couldn’t it?

Reply

Jaime February 11, 2012 at 11:17 pm

you can check iheartcvs.com, pretty sure all the ads for Feb are up on that page now

Hi Cindy!

First, thank you so much for all of your hard work, I LOVE your website!

I had a question about the blood glucose meter…my CVS ad (Boston, MA) says ‘no discounts apply…’ Does this mean the coupon won’t work or is this referring to the discount given to certain patients by insurance programs, etc.

My sister is diabetic, so I would love to get one for her (in pink, of course!) and as we all know, FREE is better!

Hope to hear from you, thanks so much!

Reply

Vickie February 11, 2012 at 7:27 pm

I saw “no discounts apply” as well. I believe that you can’t use a gov’t sponsored program or third party insurance to pay for it. Otherwise, you can use manufacturer coupons or ECBs to pay for it.

Reply

KG February 12, 2012 at 4:15 pm

Just got back from CVS and I was able to get the glucose meter (I found a pink one!) and use the coupon with no issues!!

Reply

Laura February 12, 2012 at 10:31 pm

Hi KG! Just wanted to say hi also. I am also in Boston.

There’s also a $5 off $10 purchase of GSK products in the Reinventing Beauty magazine.
My CVS has Sensodyne (GSK product) priced at $5.99. By combining it with the $2.50/2 coupon in RP 1/1, total cost is $1.49 for 2 and counts toward the $10 cash card. I’ll have to crunch some numbers because I also have the $10 off $50 purchase coupon.

Reply

jenn February 11, 2012 at 7:05 pm

will the full 5.99 each go toward the $30 purchase or will it only be $9 since its b1g50% off? and if youonly buy two of the sensodyne can you use both the $5 off $10 and the $2.50 off 2? They are both man coupons wont the $2.5o off 2 attach itself to both?

Reply

jenn February 11, 2012 at 7:11 pm

if so you can buy 5 shelf price will be $29.95.
-3 5/$ 10purchase cvs mag
-2 2.5o/2 cvs magazine
-$6 with the %50 off the second one
Total=$4 for 5 and you get the ten gc

is this possible?

Reply

Robin February 11, 2012 at 10:28 pm

I think the total comes out of sale price. You might need to buy 6 or 7. I don’t think you can use the $2.50/2 cvs coupon. But, you can use the $2.50/2 out of RP 1/1. I think it’s easier to reach the $30 by buying a mix of Sensodyne & Nature Made vitamins (which is what I’m doing).

Reply

Vickie February 11, 2012 at 7:12 pm

The $5 off $10 is a CVS coupon and the $2.50/2 is a manufacturer coupon. I used both a few weeks back. Both went through with no problems. I think $9 will go towards the $10 cash deal but $1.50 for 2 is a very good price.

Reply

John February 12, 2012 at 4:00 pm

Only $8.98 went to my total for the cash card deal. But, with the $5 off $10 GSK CVS coupon & $2.5/2 manu coupon, $1.49 for 2 tubes is not bad. Even my cashier said that it’s a steal of deal considering they are normally $6 each.

Reply

sanj February 14, 2012 at 12:50 am

wer did u find the $5/$10 GSk coupon? :O

Reply

John February 14, 2012 at 10:49 am

It’s in the CVS Reinventing Beauty magazine. It’s usually on the Beauty Advisor desk, pharmacy counter, or front register rack. There are a lot of great CVS coupons that can be combined with manufacturer coupons.

Reply

Karen February 11, 2012 at 3:37 pm

Something a bit odd with the $3 huggies coupon. I couldn’t get it.

Reply

Gillian February 11, 2012 at 3:46 pm

This week is great! I work at a clinic and we usually get supplies on our own. I have 4 coupons for the One Touch meter (2 from the newspaper and 2 printed). I literally have a dozen of those $10 off a $50 purchase. As result, I guess I have $10 to buy anything. Love CVS!

Reply

CK February 11, 2012 at 4:14 pm

The link for the $2/3 CVS greeting card coupon is for American Greetings, not Hallmark.

Reply

RG February 11, 2012 at 7:55 pm

I keep running into that, as well. I have a CVS coupon for American Greetings cards, but none of the CVSes in my area even carry that brand! So frustrating :(

If you are doing the vitamins I would get 4 instead of 3 so that you can use 2 $3/2 coupons making it @$14 pop getting back 10gc and having $10 towards your next gx

Thanks so much for the link!! My SS didn’t have one, and my mom can use a brand new one!! Thank you!! :)

and Just a little rant:

If you (or someone you know) dosen’t have the need for a glucose monitor, PLEASE, PLEASE, don’t just get some just because it’s free. Save them for diabetics who actually need one.

My mom is diabetic who has an old monitor, and this was the perfect time to get her a brand new one.

However, some lady took every one (5 of them!!) at my CVS. (Lucky she was just grabbing them when I walked in!) I asked her if she needed all of them, and she said “No, it’s free. I’m gonna put them up on ebay”. and i nearly freaked out. I told her I just needed ONE since my mom is diabetic and actually needed one since hers is pretty old, and she rolled her eyes, sucked her teeth and handed me one like i was being such an annoyance!!! UGH!! What a jerk!

Reply

John February 12, 2012 at 3:36 pm

You’re welcome!
That’s really sick that she’s going to put them up on EBay. At least donate them to people that do need them. SMH…

Reply

campanita February 12, 2012 at 10:42 pm

You are right, I noticed that a lot of people get things they don’t need just because it’s FREE. I always get things that I will be using, too bad not everybody is considerate towards others.

savingrocks February 14, 2012 at 1:13 am

I can’t stand people like that, they clear the shelves for their own enrichment and leave nothing for anyone else. I hope she reaps what she sows. Greedy dumb people.

I got one for my mom because her sugar level goes up and down. But then the strips are so expensive. Is there a way to get them a little cheaper? She doesn’t have insurance so no prescription for the discount. Thanks

so if i have a coupon for a free huggies big pack would it take that off the 30 dollars still for the cash card?????? even if it dont im still getting my case of diapers so im happy either way

Reply

Jennifer February 12, 2012 at 12:13 am

It’s pre coupon so it uses the price of the item towards your gift card

Reply

Jenny February 11, 2012 at 11:40 pm

In the Reinventing Beauty magazine, there is also $1/2 Hershey’s Kisses Brand Holiday Bags that expires 3/31/12. This will be great when the Valentine’s Day candy goes on clearance later in the week.

My red plum didn’t have the nivea q’s is it different from region to region?

Reply

sthithi February 12, 2012 at 3:26 pm

I live CT. Its frustarating to mention that I am not receiving Nivea high value coupons any time ($3/2) in my redplum insert including today. Just wanted to confirm with you am I only the one missing the Qs or others in CT are also not reciving this coupon?? other than these as mentioned in sundaycoupon preview didnot receive rimmel london coupons, Got2b as well NYC coupons in my inserts :-( Please clarify

Thanks
Sthithi

Reply

John February 12, 2012 at 3:51 pm

It’s very possible that the coupons are regional and some papers do not have all the coupons. For example, I live on Long Island. The Newsday here has more coupons than the NY Post. There are many times that I find the Redplum in the NY Post practically 4 pages. I suggest investigating which Sunday paper in your area contains the SmartSource, Red Plum, GM, and P&G. Then, quickly browse which one actually contains the majority of the coupons listed in “Sunday Coupon Preview”. I hope that helps.

Reply

Michelle February 12, 2012 at 3:54 pm

I am in CT as well, and didn’t have the Nivea coupon. I find most of the time, I don’t get the high value coupons. It used to frustrate me, but I don’t let it bother me anymore.

Reply

Tonka February 12, 2012 at 8:59 pm

I live in MA and I also did not receive any nivea q’s and rather disappointed.

Reply

Sebsa February 13, 2012 at 4:23 pm

I live in MA too. There were too different Red Plums on Sunday, only one of which had the Nivea coupons. The Boston Herald had the RP with those coupons. I actually go the store and look through the newspapers to make sure I buy the one that has the inserts I need. I am sure the people at the store think I am nuts but I hate buying a newspaper only to find it has a SS or RP that is only 4 pages….half of which are for ads for mail-in products that I don’t use! I wish the powers that be would just make one SS and one RP and put them in all the newspapers! : )

Heather February 13, 2012 at 12:15 pm

Ok yay for cvs: I got the speed stick deal : bought 8 for $1.99 each and used 4 of the bogo coupons and I noticed my total was way lower it wasnt until I checked when I got home the bogo coupons took $3.99 off each! Not sure if that was supposed to happen I’m assuming it wasn’t but paid just over $1 and got a $5 ecb too! Money maker :)

Reply

Erika February 13, 2012 at 10:19 am

I also purchased 8 but my fourth coupon didnt wanna go through, the cashier tried to push it through manually but it still didnt take it. I noticed the others took off $3.99 each so i did push her, i just left it alone and used $3.87 in ECBs, so i paid $1.47 and got back a $5 ECB. Did you have any issues with your 4th coupon?

Reply

Nicole February 12, 2012 at 5:14 pm

Reachtooth brush at my CVS were on sale for $2.24 bought two and used 2/$2.00 off coupon! Only 24 cents each after ECB!!!

Reply

Jennifer February 13, 2012 at 1:19 pm

don’t you mean 1.24 each

Reply

Jennifer February 13, 2012 at 1:20 pm

Wait..did you use the 2.00 off 2 coupon or did you use 2, 2.00 off coupons?

Reply

chris February 12, 2012 at 6:01 pm

on the nature made vitamins, if i buy 3 bottle for 9.99 and get 3 free, would that get me 2 $10 gift cards? or do the free ones not count toward the gc? I know it is pre coupons, but not sure how it works with the bogo free items. tia

Reply

Janelle S February 12, 2012 at 6:35 pm

The Free items don’t count toward the $30 purchase

I have a 20% off coupon on total purchase of regular priced items at CVS. (I got it from my Extracare account online) Does anyone have any ideas of a good deal to use with it? Thanks.

Reply

Sebsa February 15, 2012 at 11:27 pm

FYI, for the Colgate toothpaste, I had to purchase the two I bought in separate transactions because the Reinventing Beauty coupon says one per transaction (or something like that). But the ECB is a household limit of 2 so you can buy two it just has to be done separately if you are doing the stacked coupons.

Also, make sure you get the Colgate Total ADVANCED…I just got regular old Colgate Total and apparently that wasn’t covered by the coupon…but the cashier was very nice about it and let me have it anyway. Who knew toothpaste could be so complicated???? ; )

OMG that is why I was having so much trouble with it! I was getting upset at the cashier because they wouldn’t take my second coupon and I couldn’t understand why! I thought I was going crazy! I just gave up and returned it.

Another FYI, about one month ago, Cindy posted a deal on Carmex Moisture Plus Lip Balm. There are specially marked packages at CVS that you can submit for a rebate. The rebate has reset (now it expires 3/15/12). I found some of the specially marked packages at my CVS and they are on sale this week for $1.49, plus there were some Carmex printables of $.75/1 (not sure if these are still available).
