You can buy at least 2 more papers , or you can look for a specific deal that you want and order those coupons from ebay or a coupon clipping service .
Can also ask friends, relatives, neighbors, co-workers if they have any inserts they are not using that they could share with you. Some folks, not as coupon-savvy, shall we say (!), as the ones on this site, will only cut out a couple of coupons for items they will use ‘now’ and will throw out the rest and some people don’t use them at all. You may be able to round up some just by asking those you know.
I’m not understanding what your saying ? Are you saying that you can only use one coupon for bogo deals ? If that is what your saying you need to go to self check outs where you do it yourself and you scan your coupons first and the after you scan your cvs card and it works fine .
FYI … CVS has changed the cash card deal. You now must spend $30 AFTER coupons. Spoke to CVS supervisor and she confirmed change went in effect and all stores got notification of change and register systems has been updated.
Do you know when this went into effect? Like I said previously, its getting harder and harder to make these deals happen, and I think it applies to most stores and is only going to get harder. Like Tom’ s rebate at CVS; is it usually stated, limit 2 per family , or is this new? How do people get 4?
I’m not sure if this is really true. I haven’t been informed of anything like this so it makes me wonder if the wrong information is being given out at this particular store.
I think there are some rogue CVS’s out there, that change their computers to play by their own non-coupon friendly set of rules. Today, I went to one CVS to get 3 .97 Hallmarks for $3 ECB – nothing printed. The manager said that they will not give $3 ECB when I didn’t even spend $3 to begin with. And also, since it was Valentine Hallmark is the picture, I had to buy Valentine. Had them clear it out, went to another CVS and it worked just fine. The only explanation is that some CVS’s change the computer settings to do what they want and not what the ad states.
yes, I know of one cvs thisis true at where I live. So I asked a different cvs manager (one who loves the couponers..) and she said that managers can over ride the system to “fix” errors. I have had cashiers and managers alike make the bogo mistake.. but I have asked them to read the coupon policy and scan ALL the coupons stating that if they are not suppossed to work it will beep… so usually they work without a problem 99% and the managers say ok. Sometimes they throw a huff and I leave without the merchandise but with my coupons!
I find this really hard to believe. It is not an easy task to change one promotion as all of the items are linked together as an “event”. Sometimes there are just computer keyed errors and it’s just that, an error, not a rogue CVS or someone trying to “fix” an error. It is crazy though, that they give you a hard time without scanning the coupon first..like you said, if it’s a problem it will be beep.
I went to CVS today and bought 4 Scott paper towels( total $30).I used 2 $1/1 Scott and $5/30 CVS coupon and I received the $10 gc right away. In my opinion, the manager probably said that they’re changing their policy to discourage people to use coupons.
I don’t have self checkout at any CVS in Tampa, FL.
For the deal on Klennex the machine give few days ago $1/1 coupon, also I received a mailer coupon from CVS for $0.75/1.
Martina …How hard is it to get good deals in Fl? I have a place in Land o Lakes ..checked some of the stores and just cant help but think its going to be terrible …Been couponing a couple of months now…but I have been in my N.Y home. Maybe I should just stay here lol.
OMG you will love it. I live close to land o lakes and have been couponing for a year and a half. We have Publix here and they are great with sales and coupons. They are super coupon friendly (most of the time) great customer service and have tons of sales. They also stack coupons… the only thing you will miss is doubling coupons.
Cindy they take a coupon for both items and both manufacturer and store coupon. So most of the time we can use 4 coupons and pay for 1 item. They also take competitor coupons. Each store has a list of competitors. But If I had to pick 1 store to shop exclusively it is publix. Although I do love my Walgreens and Cvs. But publix is definitely the best.
Hi Chris Thanks for the info…my 32 year old son lives in npr…I live near the new Publix on St.Rd 52…By the Suncoast Hwy. Hope we can stay in touch..maybe share some deals…I am on here checking for new coupons all the time.We get alot of items free with overage here on Long Island..not sure if your familiar. WAS thinking it was looking grim to continue while I am there thank you for giving me hope…Publix here I come !
definately.. you will be able to do the same at publix.. I really think you will be happy. It will nottake long to get used to their policies. They are super customer friendly and are great with coupons.
Went to CVS this evening many items on 75% clearance…I will try my best to remember them:
Irish Spring Deodorant (legendary had a brown cap compared to others) $1.14 use SS 1/29 $1/1= .14 cents
Old Spice Deodorant (certain variety) $1.12 believe there is a coupon out there for $1/2
Right Guard (certain variety) $1.24
Speedstick (certain variety) .92 cents
Axe deodorant (75% 0ff) about $1.12
Secret (certain variety) $1.24
Nivea body soap (50% off) $3.??
Tone Body soap (50% off ) $ 3.??
Ivory bar soap 4 pack (50% off) $1.49
Jergens bar soap 8 pack (50% off) $1.34
Dial Bar soap 3 pack (Cranberry scent..Fushia colored package) $1.69
Blade body wash (50% off) $3.??
Dove shampoo (Shine) $1 .22 use SS 1/29 $1/1= .22 cents
Clairol hair dye (certain colors) $2.64
This is all I can recall…basically Soap, body washes and deodorants of many different brands but only certain scents were on clearance…many of the deodorants and body washes had signs for clearance but the shelf was bare so I can not tell you what the item exactly was…Good luck.
I went to my cvs in mt Vernon NY this afternoon and just happened to see the clearance tagsand there was nothing left!! Was this sale on all week?? OMG!
A few weeks ago I had about $20 in ECB to use but had done all current deals worth buying. My husband asked the manager for suggestions, noting that they were about to expire. The manager told him to buy CVS brand items using the ECB, then return it WITHOUT a receipt. This way, he would put the return on a CVS gift card. He said that as long as the money stayed at CVS, he didn’t care if it was an ECB or a gift card. I’m truly amazed that the manager would help us out. This is the only CVS we go to now.
I second that that seems a bit shady, also think about that many items that are returned like HBA items cannot be re-sold and are just thrown-out. Please think about that before just buying returning. If there is nothing that peaks your interest, then use the ECB to buy food or pet food items and donate them to a food bank or animal shelter. There are many hungry ppl and kitties/doggies that would love some food.
I had an issue after x-mas because I was so sick and didn’t shop. I wasn’t sure what to do because I NEVER had a problem using ECB’s before! So, I purchased a curling iron for around $20 and used all of my ECB’s (s0 they didn’t expire) and the balance of a few dollars I paid in cash. I then returned the curling iron the next week w/ my receipt and wondered what they were going to do. They gave me my $2.32 in cash and the remainder went on a store card. Hope that helps.
On the Suave deal, if you buy the Men’s Body wash and use the B1G1 free coupons (mine were B1G1, Cindy has B2G1), the coupon takes $3 off even though the cost is only $2 each. So if you buy 6 of the body wash and use 3 of the coupons, you pay $3 and get $4 ECB back, so $1 money maker!
I did the body wash deal early this morning. When the cashier saw it took off $3, she had a fit!!! She said she couldn’t leave it that way because she could get in big trouble, so she changed it to $2. I only had B2G1 coupons.
I went to CVS a few times this week and each time had a different experience with each cashier. Some of them excellent, others who dont know what they are doing, i even had to tell one of them the bodywashes were $3.00 and she had no idea.
bought 1 scott toilet paper $14… 2 scott paper towels $15 …. 2 Ajax 89/ea
used 2 $1/1 Scott paper towel.. $4/20 .. $7 ECB and $20 CVs Gift card.. total free, but did NOT print $10 cash..
Receipt said only $15 and change was applied towards the CVS Cash deal.. Didn’t argue since I paid zero, except for $10 towards the CVS Gift Card (Groupon).. This in lawrence, NJ
I went to my regualr CVS on Sunday to do some of the M&M’s, Nabisco, and Honey Bunches of Oats/Post cash card deal. After everything rang up, and I gave my coupons to the cashier, (most of which were printed), she said CVS doesn’t accept internet printed coupons anymore, since the SUMMER! What?!?! I calmly tried to explain to her that each coupon had a unique number code and that proves that they are not copies, and also pointed out the veri-fi # that she could use to verify that the Q is legit. She still refused. So I returned all the items, asked for my coupons back and left and went to a different CVS, and they took all my coupons just fine. I am getting so tired of this type of stuff. I wish more people would follow this website and coupon with ethics instead of doing shady and fraudulent things. I can’t help feeling like coupon has been ruined by that TLC show and people being fraudulent. Thanks Cindy for all that you do and keeping everyone on the straight and narrow coupon path!
Melissa, they absolutely take internet printed coupons. Next time you are there, you can tell them that you know for sure that they take them and ask to speak to a manager. If a manager agrees with the cashier, then call corporate right there from the store.
Melissa, I agree with Cindy! I had a cashier at my CVS try to tell me that they don’t take printed coupons. I did not buy the items, went home and called corporate. They were so nice, called that store’s manager, who was nice too. They both asked me to come back and see the manager. She made it right and later corrected the cashier.
in case anyone was curious, the pretzel m&m’s are included towards the $30 to get the $10 gc, and the cvs i went to took all my internet coupons. it totally depends on the store because i’ve been told at different locations that their store does not accept them, but others may.
i need some advise in here.2 week ago i did the glade deal, bought 3 glade sense&spray for $12.I used coupons and ECBs to pay for it with a$1.25 cash oop.
my husband does not like the smell(Hawaiian breeze) so i went back to exchange them, they didn`t had any other so i wanted to return them. The cashier handed me $1.25 according to her that`s what i paid,But what about my coupons and my ECBs? so I took my glades and left.I don`t know what is the policy when you return stuff that you bought with coupons and ECBs.
Any suggestions?
Diana, you can try another store for an even exchange. If they don’t have a better scent, try ShopRite. They will let you exchange it. Just make sure they have the same thing you have on their shelf. If they sell it, they can exchange it. Walmart would too.
Diana, going to a different CVS is the best scenario. If they only have 2, exchange 2 and explain that your husband hates the scent. Then go to another CVS and exchange the rest if possible or how many they have, etc. Please don’t try to exchange a CVS product at different store other than CVS. That type of behavior (pulling one over on them) will just ruin things more for the rest of us that try hard to coupon ethically. Unless you are willing to be totally honest and ask Shoprite or Walmart if they will except an exchange for a product you bought at CVS. Screwing with the system unethically will ruin it for everyone in the future, not just the original person trying to pull one over on a store.
@ Laura, Sorry if I gave the impression of doing something wrong. I figured if they carry it, why wouldn’t you be able to exchange it for the same item, different scent? But I also didn’t think of what I normally do when the family doesn’t care for something: put it in the donate bag. Between putting things in the bag that I got on sale that they don’t care for, or get a great deal on (free) that donate bag gets pretty full. The food bank always appreciates it, and they’ll give you a donation receipt. Win, win!
I didn’t know food banks will give out a donation receipt. I donate to our local food pantry, but never asked for a receipt. I get a receipt from a womens shelter for clothing & HH donatables, we itemize our taxes so the receipts help out quite a bit. Do I need to go to the “big food bank” that then distributes to smaller pantries to get a receipt? TIA.
Laura, our township has a food bank, and they will give you a receipt if you want one. It’s just a form letter that they fill in. Ex: 2 bags groceries, 1 bag toiletries. They most likely have some type of receipt
Thank you so much for posting your buy ideas- they are so helpful! I used your Nabsico scenario for inspiration but did not need the cereal. So I ended up buying 24 nabisco crackers/cookies (hit up 4 different CVS stores so as not to clear the shelves) and after using (12) $1/2 coupons and the 10 gift card back they ended up being only 25 cents a box! Great find!
I would like to do the Nabisco deal, but I am so afraid of using multiple coupons. My CVS also gives me a hard time with printable coupons. I wouldn’t do it all at once, but I have $10 in EBC from doing the survey on Feb 5. And I don’t want that to go to waste. Although I don’t like deals as much when they aren’t extracare bucks I can roll over to use next time. But then it’s so hard to find good deals on crackers.
I think you should print out the coupon policy and go use your printable coupons!! Explain to them that each coupon is unique (as shown by the unique coupon # in the top right hand corner) and if your checker still gives you a hard time, ask to speak to the manager. This was a fab deal so you don’t want to pass it up just because your checkers don’t know the policy! Go for it!!
I just got back from my local cvs and on the deal with Nivea spend 10 dollars get a 3 dollar EBC, I bought 2 Nivea lip products and 2/5 and used 2/1 dollar off Nivea lip care products coupon, I sitll had to spend 5 more dollars so I picked up a bottle of the Nivea Touch of Honeydew Hydrating shower gel that was marked on the shelf at 5.99 but at check out it came out to be on clearance for 2.99. I also had a 1 dollar off coupon. So of course I had to go back and buy one more to get my 3 dollar EBC. I also did the Blistex deal and all together saved 8.70 and got back a total of 4 dollars worth of EBC. Just wanted everyone to know so they can go check out the clearance deal NOT ADVERTISED.
Be careful with trying to use clearance things for things like earning extra bucks or gift cards. They are not supposed to ring up, sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t (I know it’s annoying, but some stores do their clearance on Sunday and some do it other days so it’s not really recognized as a “sale”. If you look at most sales signs that include bogo or ecb, it says “does not include clearance items” . Just make sure you’re prepared for a great deal on clearance items, but it may not work out as you hoped.

Thanks Cindy!!!
Thank you for posting all these greats deals. I only get two copy of the sunday paper, how can i still get great deals like the ones above?

U can get 6 papers a week
CVS sent me an email for a coupon for $4 off of $20 that could be loaded onto customer card…could use this also!
On the SweetNlow CVS now only allows on $/xx coupon to be used on a BOGO sale
allows one not allows on
I’m not understanding what your saying ? Are you saying that you can only use one coupon for bogo deals ? If that is what your saying you need to go to self check outs where you do it yourself and you scan your coupons first and the after you scan your cvs card and it works fine .
that sounds shady
the more people try to ” scam” the system (for a good deal anyway) the harder the companies are making it to get a good deal.
According to the cvs coupon policy that is posted on this site, CVS still accepts two manufacturers coupons for BOGO offers.
The honey bunches of oats link is not working.
FYI … CVS has changed the cash card deal. You now must spend $30 AFTER coupons. Spoke to CVS supervisor and she confirmed change went in effect and all stores got notification of change and register systems has been updated.
what state are you in???
Do you know when this went into effect? Like I said previously, its getting harder and harder to make these deals happen, and I think it applies to most stores and is only going to get harder. Like Tom’ s rebate at CVS; is it usually stated, limit 2 per family , or is this new? How do people get 4?
What was the Tom’s Rebate at CVS you are referring to?
I’m not sure if this is really true. I haven’t been informed of anything like this so it makes me wonder if the wrong information is being given out at this particular store.
The terms on the website are still the same. If you hover over the deal, it says NOTHING about before or after discounts.

that isnt listed anywhere in the ad or online…not sure if that is true
I have not heard anything about this. Which store told you this?
I went to CVS today and bought 4 Scott paper towels( total $30).I used 2 $1/1 Scott and $5/30 CVS coupon and I received the $10 gc right away. In my opinion, the manager probably said that they’re changing their policy to discourage people to use coupons.
I was able to get the cash card today and it was 30 before coupons only 20 after coupons… I’m In ny Nassau county
I don’t have self checkout at any CVS in Tampa, FL.
For the deal on Klennex the machine give few days ago $1/1 coupon, also I received a mailer coupon from CVS for $0.75/1.

how do i get a CVS home mailer?
thanks for the match ups
It is getting harder to get all the deals. Ever since the Extreme Coupon TV show, the stores are listing more restrictions.

I went to my cvs in mt Vernon NY this afternoon and just happened to see the clearance tagsand there was nothing left!! Was this sale on all week?? OMG!
Okay, I have $23 ECBs to burn this week. Any ideas? I could use TP, but I would like to earn some ECBs or GC.

Laura, our township has a food bank, and they will give you a receipt if you want one. It’s just a form letter that they fill in. Ex: 2 bags groceries, 1 bag toiletries. They most likely have some type of receipt
This is great! I know the form letter you are speaking of, I get that from the women’s shelter. I will definitely ask about it. Thanks so much
Thank you so much for posting your buy ideas- they are so helpful!
