  • Where is a good place to donate stuff like that?

  • I was wondering the same thing? I have a friend with Diabetes that I got these for but he only needed one. I would love to donate the rest….

    • Hi Jodi & Katie,
You may want to check out your local food pantry. The ones by me will take anything grocery/drug store related. They let the food patrons pick out anything they would like. Also, you may want to contact your local health department. The town nurse should have a place to take donated items to give to people in need of supplies. This is where my Depends are going.
      Hope That Helps!

One more thing ….. if these take AA or AAA batteries ( ya know, the ones we get from Staples for free) you may want to tape a couple onto the side of the package prior to donating them. ;)

  • Is there tax on this?

    • Nope, I did this deal the last time it was free and in one transaction I bought one and used the coupon and my total was $0.00 … :-D

    • Depends where you live. Illinois still charges tax even when the total is $0.00 after coupons, but Missouri does not. So it depends on the state.

  • Jodi–tell your friend to keep an extra one as insurance–to double check a too- high or too- low reading. Also, when METER BREAKS IT’S EITHER EARLY IN THE A.M OR LATE AT NIGHT. It’s always good to have an extra!

  • Today’s RP also has the $10/1 coupon.

  • Nursing homes are good places to donate. I’m diabetic and the sad thing is I could get multiple glucometers for a very low fee or free. It’s the test strips that are expensive. Mine is over $1 strip ( I test 6+ times a day). Too bad there are not coupons for the test strips.

  • I was in Target just a bit ago and they have these for 9.99 by pharmacy. They accepted the coupon at 9.99 just in case CVS has been emptied which is what I found today.

  • I have about 50 of these in my basement from the last sale and now I want to get more but can’t find anywhere to donate. Anyone know somewhere in CT that will take them? Also if store is sold out you can get rainchecks.

  • For those of you looking to donate, I have a Dr. friend who works in Haiti. She has a very hard time getting items like this for her patients. If any of you are interested in donating them to her, let me know & I’ll see if I can make arrangements to collect them all in 1 place for her. I’m in CT, but her home base is NY, so she usually swings through the New England area when she is back in the states & she could pick them up & take them with her.

  • I had an adventure at Walgreens yesterday. I had a $10 RR expiring so I carefully planned my transaction, # of coupons, etc. When I got to the register, the manager was yelling at a lady about coupon fraud and telling her to read coupons. They were there so long a cashier had to open another register.

She then told me that I was already getting a free monitor and saved $30 on my transaction, didn’t I just want to pay the $13 total. I told her no. I didn’t want to throw $10 away.

She voided my transaction 3 times. She then told me that my trasaction was already flagged for loss prevention because I saved too much. Then she accused me of coupon fraud because I was using 2 coupons for $10 each on the monitor and the monitor was only $19.99. I told her about their policy and adjusting the price. She was really angry. Funny because I was the one wasting her time at the register, I should have been mad.

  • Typical Walgreens!

  • Does anyone konw where to contact Walgreens? I need to send them a nice little letter about all the wonderful experiences I’ve been having there lately.

They told me that they switched to the new registers to avoid coupon fraud.

  • I tried this today at Walgreen’s, and they would not take both coupons. My balance after the first q was 11.36 and the manager told me she couldn’t take another $10 off. I got so frustrated I took my q back and left, and got them at Rite Aid. Both donated to the local VA Hospital.

  • I wanted the $10 coupon, but can’t find one. Is it no longer available?

  • Funny I need to get one of these for my mom, I wanted to see if there were any deals on monitors. Maybe I should just ask Lauren M since she has 50 of them in her basement. Selfish!
