My Shopping Trip: Stop & Shop Scott Catalina Deal

My Shopping Trip: Stop & Shop

I was torn between doing the Scott Catalina deal at ShopRite or Stop & Shop but, once we learned that the Stop & Shop deal is working on shelf pricing, I quickly made my decision.  Stop & Shop it is!  So, armed with my, about to expire, $0.99/1 Scott Coupons, I tried the deal.

My shelf prices were slightly different from the shelf prices I posted, however I still meet the $15 required.

Here is what I did:

Stop & Shop:

  • Scott Natural Paper Towels 6 pk – $4.99 (reg: $6.59)
  • Scott Extra Soft Toilet Paper 12 pk – $6.99 (reg: $10.29)

Coupons Used:

  • -$0.99/1 Scott Paper Towels (NLA)
  • -$0.99/1 Scott Extra Soft Toilet Paper (NLA)
  • -$5.00 Catalina (last weeks Kashi Deal)

Paid: $3.02

Received:
$5.00 Catalina (Buy $15 Get $5)
$2.00 Catalina (Scott Catalina Deal)

Total Savings including sale prices and coupons: $13.86 which I will be adding to the LRWC Reader’s Grocery Savings Counter.  Be sure to add your savings so we can see how much we have all saved in 2012

  • Cindy, how do we deal with it if our StopnShop does not do it on shelf price? and also will this deal roll if I do get the $5 and $2 cats and want to use more of my 99/1 coupons? Please help I am new to this. Thanks

  • The Stop and Shop deal looks great! I have the Kashi 5.00 and two manufacture
    coupons!!! Thanks :)

  • Jocelyn Alvarez |

    Amazing!!!!!

  • Great way to use my $5 Kashi Cat from last week.

  • Thanks i wasnt sure where to go either.

  • wow!! Great Job Cindy!!

I personal have a horribe experiences at Stop and Shop the last one was back in January so since then I havent shop there until today!! and I was reminded in a very unpolite tone from the cs people why did I stoped shopping there. …sight … I really dont like the way the treat people with coupons … and just to let everybody know that even the Instant $5.00 of spending $15 on the shavings products doesnt say after coupons It is in fact after discounts and coupons!! ..what a day :/ however I got my Coffee Matte and with the CAT received helped me paid for my Planters PB!! So I do love Couponning just not Stop and Shop ;)

  • I went to the Berkeley Heights Stop and Shop. I purchased the regular paper towels and the naturals toilet paper. I only received the $2 cat. Not the $5 cat. So shelf price is not working at this store unless of course a different combination works (ie natural paper towels and regular toilet paper as Cindy did). Can anyone please share with me where in NJ this deal works?

    • I think you did it backwards an the paper towels could be natural but not the toilet paper according to the ad.

  • Working on shelf prices @ SuperG/Giant in DE. Just bought 12 pk TP, 6 pk paper towels & a 170 count wipes, paid $12.01, got back $5 & $3 cats.

    • Kathie…you bought at sale price not shelf price. The three items you bought brings you over the $15 based on sale price.

  • I did the Scott TP deal over the weekend before the $2 cat started – I did it based on sale price and the $5 didn’t print – CS gave me the $5 – I have done it twice now and both times had to go to CS for the $5 (which they did with no problem) –
    Milford CT store -

  • Confirmed – Morris Plains, NJ

Buy 1 Scott Paper Towels, 6 roll ($5.99)$4.99
Buy 1 Scott 12 Roll Bath Tissue extra soft ($9.65) $6.99

Got both $5 and $2 CATS!

Was able to do it 4 times!

  • Any luck in ct?

    • YES!!! Did 5 transactions :
      Scotts reg and natural TP-6.99
Scotts natural PT -4.99 total=11.98 Got back the 5 cat and 2 cat. Was able to roll the 5 cat after first transaction. So each time I paid 7.42 oop and got back 7 dollars in cats. I shop at the Willimantic store

  • confirmed and working in jackson nj. You CANT buy the naturals though, only the regular product. They are also rolling!!! whooooottt

  • On Friday I before I read about the Scotts deal starting on 4/23 I bought 4 scott natural towels and I did not receive a $5.00 off for next order. The cashier told me the naturals was not part of the deal only the regular towels but now I see Cindy’s post with the natural so was I suppose to get it?

  • Cindy,

Can I buy the bathroom tissue only to get both Catalinas? What are the details of the Scott Catalina? Thanks…

    • You can buy all bathroom tissue and get the $5 catalina but you will not get the $2 (or $3 catalina) because you need a purchase from different type products.

  • Pre price is not working at new Milford Ct stop and shop

  • Kathie which super g in de did you go to? Tia

  • I did the exact same order as Cindy. Shelf price was the same. Got the 2 cats and rolled them into the next order. Interesting on the first order I couldn’t use a Cat from last week because I was only buying 2 things and I already was using 2 coupons. It seems that it is like Walgreens with having to have a product for each coupon? (According to cashier) I had the .99 coupons that doubled. Great deal. Thank you so much.

    • This is exactly what happened to me! I couldn’t use the $3 Coffeemate catalina from last week. I used self-checkout and could not scan it. So, the attendant just opened up her drawer and gave me cash. She was nice though. (East Islip, NY)

  • I purchased 3 packs of the “regular” scott toilet paper and received 2 $5 coupons back! The store must be using the regular price (10.79) and giving $5 for every $15 spent. I did the deal twice and I was able to use one of the $5 coupons on the second purchase! The stop and shop was in East Haven, CT.

  • Not working in new britain,ct west main st

  • I just went to stop and shop and tried to do this deal, I had the exact same transaction as above except my paper towels weren’t the naturals, and no catalina’s printed. I went to CS but they wouldn’t give me any catalina’s because they took sale price not shelf price. Is there a way to tell which stores do sale price and which do shelf? The CS person was not very nice at all. I asked to return the items since my CAT’s didn’t print, and they refunded me, but they wouldn’t give me back my coupons or refund them. So I just wasted two high value coupons and got nothing for it. :( It felt awful, only you fellow couponer’s know what I mean when I say it made me feel like crying.

  • I just did the exact same transaction at a different shop and stop and both catalinas printed with no problems, so I don’t know what the deal was.

  • We’re you able to double the .99 coupons at your stop & shop? Mine would not let me because they said do not double on them
