  • I bought a couple of those a few weeks ago at stop and shop and they were priced at $1.79 (so I paid only $0.29 for each)

  • Im so jealous of the people whose stores fully double!

  • Me too! I feel LUCKY if any of the stores (Walgreen’s, Wholefoods, CVS, Pathmark) in Manhatten even take coupons. Was told today by some dumb cashier that CVS no longer accepts coupons. (which is totally untrue of course).

    • @Sue in NYC, which store was that at?

      • The CVS on Fulton Street near the Wall St. area. Not only was I told that CVS no longer accepts coupons, the cashier was the rudest person ever. I asked to speak to a manager and some guy came to the cashier and told me the same thing. I said I can’t believe that and I referred them to the CVS Coupon Policy. He said they won’t take coupons anymore because we are “trying to rip them off!” Of course I then read the fine print on the coupon and explained that they get the $$ back from the manufacturer and look you even get 8 cents for processing. Anyway, I didn’t want to deal with them and decided not to buy the item and wanted to look for something else and the “manager” went back to stocking shelves. The cashier saw me walk into the next aisle and she was pissed off that I didn’t want the item and walks over to the manager and started loudly complaining about me “trying to take advantage of her cause she’s new” (I heard this and laughed cause it’s my first time shopping at this CVS and of course I wouldn’t know nor care if she was new or not cause I wasn’t “taking advantage” of her, I was just trying to use a valid coupon on the item as marked on the coupon)… she goes on and on.. and the “manager” decides it’s okay to talk about customers WHILE I WAS IN THE NEXT AISLE and he goes on and on about people ripping them off and that “she looks like a nice girl, I don’t know why she would use coupons”!!!!!!!! So of course I confronted him and he denies talking about me. I repeat the convo they just had and he apologizes for me HEARING them talk about me. And not for talking about me. I will never ever shop at that CVS again. I filled out some complaint form on the CVS website and 2 days later and no response.

        • I would be livid!! There has to be some one else or some where else you can contact. This needs to be reported. I just can’t understand why employees continue to be so rude in this economy, when jobs are so precious! That’s why most stores I shop at I have my “favorite” cashiers I go to. Some stores I just avoid. It’s not worth it.

          • @MichelleB, I was more in shock then livid due to their unprofessionalism and very rude attitude. As expected no one from CVS has called or emailed me back after I filed a complaint on their website.

I’m still upset about the “she seems like a nice girl, why would she use coupons” comment. I’m fairly new to couponing (1mth in) and experiences like this is quite intimidating. Wonder if this only happens in Manhattan.
