Oh my goodness, I love when they have these deals! ShopRite has a Gift Card Catalina deal that is running through 5/12. This time its for Buy $50 in Gift Cards and get a $10 Catalina. So, it seems that most gift cards (excluding ShopRite) are included. I have personally confirmed that a gas gift card is working on the deal. So, a $10 Money Maker…Woohoo!

You can use Disney gift cards at the parks I have done this many times for my kids so they don’t have to carry money.
Did you try to buy a Disney card for this deal? If so, did the $10 CAT print?
Disney gift cards can even be used on anything from resort hotel to lunch at the park. I did not see it at one of my SR either. Whaa!
Just a FYI though, you can get a Disney store gift card at Target and use your red card debit and get 5% off. You would only have to pay $47.50 for the gift card. Not as good but still better than paying $50.
It says any gift card excluding ShopRite gift card according to the ad.
A & P is select cards only – they are listed in the circular. I did the Mastercards – you end up making only 5 bucks since there is an activation charge but it’s cash for cash – the bonus with the A and P catalinas are you can use them right away.
Are you sure about that? I turned around and tried to use A&P’s $10 oyno on next order of groceries and it beeped!
I believe the CAT offer states ‘limit 1 per customer’ so does this mean only one cat will print per card, no matter how man transactions? Thx.
I was going to ask the same thing. The flier says one per customer so I assumed we could only do the deal once.

you are correct…. I guess you are thinking to give me the gift card that is worth $ 50.00
You have your $50 gift card plus your $10 coupon: you spend $50, and get $60. In Cindy’s example, you get $50 of gas, which you would have had to spend that $50 on anyway, plus the $10 coupon.
Is it a coincidence that my Shop Rite also has a gas station? I think not. I will be doing this.

The Mastercard and Visa have activation fees. I know that the Lowes and
Bed, Bath & Beyond do not. It is written on the backs of the cards, so you can read it before you buy it. HTH!
Lowes, Sears and Home Depot do not. I know because I have purchased them during other promotions. I usually get one of these gift cards and save it for Father’s Day.

if it is one per customer, couldnt you buy another one without using your shopper card? or do we need to use a shopper card to activate catalina? thanks.
Does anyone know of any gas stations in Northern NJ, Bergen or Passaic Counties that take these gas cards? I have 3 from the Kellogg’s deal and so far NO luck in being able to use them because they cannot be used at the pump. They must be taken inside. The problem I am having is that the inside registers are not linked to the pumps anymore. : /
Any advice from others that have been successful would be really appreciated.
Jersey City Shell gas stations take these at the pump, I remember from the CVS gift card deals back in December.
I have the same problem with the Kellogg’s ones, can’t use them in most Jersey stations.
I used the card from Kellogg´s at walmart then I just payed the remain balance in my purchase.

I used mine @ Shoprite with no problems.
I haven’t had any trouble using them at the pump at the Shell by my house (Morris County), but I only purchase the amount of the card worth of gas. Maybe that’s your problem? For example, if I have a $25 card, I ask for $25 of gas, not a full tank where I would have to pay the balance another way.
My stop and shop cashier couldn’t figure out how to use the Kelloggs reward card (which u can use on stuff other than gas)….so I grabbed a $10 stop and shop gift card and paid for it using my Kelloggs reward card. It worked perfectly since it was the same amount. Then I used the S&S card toward my $11.23 worth of groceries!
I couldn’t even get them to accept it, it states it cannot be put directly into the pump. It must be done at a cash register. I was only planning on purchasing $30 which would use up all 3 cards. I have not seen a Shell station along my route, so I couldn’t say if it could work there. Good to know for the future, Thanks!
The Kellogg’s gas cards are just visa cards – I used mine @ Shop Rite for groceries with no issues.

Bought a home depot and bath and body works card ($25 each for a total of $50 in gift cards) at A&P today. No cat. Went to customer service and was told that only the cards listed err….shown in the ad count towards the cat deal. Bummer, looks like I’ll have to head over to shoprite later this week.

here in NY, shell’s advertised prices on the big sign are always for cash or shell gift card. they treat it just like cash. if you pay with another credit card it’s always 10 cents more per gallon.

I do not understand how this is a money maker please explain. If you pay $50 how do you get $10 back? I dont get it. Please HELP!!!
Basically, you trade $50 cash for a $50 gift card for a store where you will end up spending cash (or in Cindy’s example, gas, which we all use). Then once you buy $50 in gift cards, you get a $10 catalina just for buying the gift card. Thus, you are ahead $10 when the catalina prints for transferring $50 in cash for a $50 gift card.
Great explanation. As often as I’m in Home Depot or Lowes, I bought 2 of the $50 cards and plan on getting a few more late in the week. GREAT deal!

I bought 2 $25 cards for the Hess gas station and it printed the cat. The circular says “buy $50 in gift cards”, doesn’t say how many gift cards to buy to make that total.

No. Unfortunately you can only use cash or debit to pay for gift cards.
I think you can pay for it because i did it last week at rpice chopper they had the same offer and it rolled! worth the try

A) You can’t roll this deal. The catlina isnt good till next Sunday when this deal is dead.
B) I bought two $25 gift cards and got the $10 Catalina.
C) It’s only ONE per customer. You cant do multiples. Unless you open different cards.

Yes I did it 2x in one day at 2 different times using the same ShopRite Card.
I have done it three times. We need gift cards for our MOPS group as thank you gifts for our childcare workers . . . so, MOPS is paying for the gift cards and I’m getting the $10 (of which I’m sure I’ll use on the food that I sometimes bring).
Does anyone know if the Hess gas stations will accept these at the pump. After seeing that mentioned above I am now in a panic because I spent my $50 gas budget for the week on the two $25 cards I bought last night! Thanks in advance.

Incase anyone needs more giftcards CVS has some gift cards spend $50 get $10ECB. I bought Panera Bread and iTunes. We eat at panera bread every so often so I will spend it and I always give the kids and alot of adults iTunes for birthdays and Christmas.
I bought two Forever 21 gift cards and didn’t get a CAT. Customer service told me that it only prints with the cards that are shown in the flyer but based on comments here it is not the case.

I was able to do multiple transactions with my favorite cashier. Got 6-$50 home depot gift cards, which is perfect since we are replacing kitchen floor. Got 6-$10 catalinas valid 5/13-5/19. Only catch is each one says you can only use one per transaction per day (or something like that). Wonder how that will work…
My SR told me it only works on the GCs pictured in the ad.

I purchased 2- $25 Bed Bath & Beyond GC’s at the Paramus, NJ Shoprite today and got the $10 cat. The BB&B cards are NOT in the ad picture.
I purchased a $50 Hess Gift Card at the Succasunna, NJ store received my $10 CAT, just 1/2 mile from the store is a Hess Station, I pulled right in and asked for $50, he put the card right in the pump, and now my truck is on FULL. This is an awesome deal, going back for more tomorrow! But thinking of getting an Exxon card since on the way home I seen Exxon was $3.65 a gallon and Hess was $3.71, every penny counts!
This is what I did which I want to think is an ok money maker while taking advantage of the sparkle/angel soft cat deal.
2 $25 GC = $50.00
3 angel soft – $16.47
less:
3/.45 angel soft Q (NLA) = 2.70
TOTAL OOP = 63.77
Got: 10 from GC cat
Got: 5 from angel soft
TOTAL: 48.77 for a $50.00 GC and 3 angel soft.
Then I rolled the $5 angel soft as follows:
2 $25 GC = $50.00
3 angel soft = 16.47
less:
3/.45 angel soft Q = 2.70
1 angel soft cat = 5.00
TOTAL OOP: 58.77
Got: $10 cat
Got: $5 cat
Summary: 43.77 for a $50.00 GC and 3 angel soft.

Just to confirm what Cindy reported – I bought 2x $25 Gulf cards, and got the $10 CAT, then went back thru and did it again, both times using the same SR Card and it printed again. This morning I went to my favorite Gulf ($3.57.gal) and they took it at the pump no problem! I’ll be doing this a lot this week…next week, does anyone think we will be able to use multiple $10CATs in a single transaction, or just one per?
I also stopped back yesterday and got a $25 Justice and $25 American Eagle for my niece’s birthday – this was my 2nd time around doing the deal with the same Price Plus card and the $10 cat printed right out. Sweet

I just went an hour ago and to clear everything up, you DONT need to use a shop rite card to do this. I bought $200 worth of gas cards in 4 seperate transactions and got 4 $10 coupons for next week. ENJOY!
I bought 2 $20 and 1 $10 t-mobile gift cards and it did not work. Of course I did not notice this until I left the store. I am going back today to see if I can get them to print the cat.
Did three transactions. Two Build a bear $25 gift cards in the first transaction, and then two BP $50 gas gift cards. Ended up with 3 $10 Cats. So awesome!
One thing to add, on the CAT it sates $5 minimum purchase required. I am assuming this means when we redeem it, we have to buy at least $15 worth of product? I am going ot have a lot of these to redeem so I am trying to figure the offer out exactly. Also, I assume they will only accept one per transaction right?
I noticed that also. I thought it was supposed to say $ 10 minimum purchase required since the CAT is worth $10. If we needed to spend $5 I think it would say $ 5 additional purchase required? I’m not sure. Interested to see what others think.
Don’t know if what I was told is correct, but I asked at Customer Service about the minimum of $5 and she thought for a minute and then said it must be a mistake and it should say minimum of $10.

I did the Giant/Stop & Shop gas rewards this week and will be saving $2.20 per gallon – and I’ll couple this with the Shoprite deal on gas cards. It’s about time we can save on GAS it’s been crazy expensive!
