I am going to maryland this week for vacation, and I wanted to stop and pick up some food for our place we are staying in, and there is a superfresh there, does that mean these matchups are for superfresh too?
At my A&P earlier this week it did work on shelf price. I did the Bimbo deal and it is good on all entenmann’s donuts. So the deal I did was:
Buy 1 Entemann’s Donuts Softees ($5.49) $2.50
Buy 1 Entemann’s Donuts 8 pack ($4.99) $2.50
Total ($ 10.48) $5.00
Get $3.00 Catalina
as low as $1.00 each after coupon and catalina
Deal Idea
Buy 3 Victoria Pasta Sauce ($7.99) $3.50
Buy 3 Victoria Pasta Sauce $0.00 (FREE From BOGO)
Total ($23.97) $10.50
Get $6 Catalina
as low as $0.75 after free item and Catalina
I think this works out to $3 EACH AS THE PASTA SAUCE IS 7.99 a bottle
Lately, I have been so excited about the bonus deals at A&P because Pathmark is not near my home and a distance to get to. The cost of gas mitigates any savings but many of the great Pathmark deals are also at A&P which is around the corner from where I live. The Finish deal based on shelf pricing was fantastic at A&P a couple of weeks ago even without coupons. I wanted to roll my catalinas from the Finish bonus deals into this week’s Clorox and Sargento bonus deals. I tested a clorox purchase based on shelf pricing. A catalina did not print. Then I tested a clorox purchase based on sale prices in which I exceeded the minimum with a variety of different items posted in that deal. The catalina did not print on sale prices eventhough I spent over $40. I thought perhpas the Clorox deal was not entered properly in the system. So I thought I would try the Sargento deal based on the shelf price ad purchased four packages. That catalina did not print. The bonus deals have been working on shelf pricing for the past few weeks. The only thing I can think of is that there was a programming error or that A&P is no longer honoring shelf pricing. If the latter, that is too bad because as I understand it the conglomerate who owns both A&P and Pathmark is having financial difficulties. I thought many of the bonus deals they have been offering each week was to help drive sales. I do hope this week was the exception not a new norm.
I had the same problem at Pathmark. I tried to roll my Kraft catalina to purchase 2 Finish detergent but it did not produce a catalina. So I went back in and purchased 2 more Finish w/o using a cat and it printed a cat for me. The next day, I tested it again, I thought maybe the machine wasn’t working so I purchased 2 Finish Jet dry bottles and used the $5 cat I received from my 2nd transaction and it did not produce a cat. This time I was sure that the cat machine was turned on.This seems to be the new policy at my Pathmark now, that you can no longer roll any catalinas.
I bought 2 bags of Kingsford charcoal (11.99) sale 6.99 and the $5.00 cat printed. The clorox/kingsord is working off shelf price in Middletown, NJ. Now I am waiting to see what will be used for saving star 11.99 each or 6.99?
There’s also a new Coupons.com Savings Club Off for $3 off a 6.3lb or larger bag of Kingsford charcoal. I will have to check the size on the bags, but it should make for a great deal between the catalina and the SavingStar offer! I’ll find out later tonight.
Brittany – I printed those charcoal coupons today and did the deal again with the $5.00 cat from yesterday and paid $2.98 for two bags. Also, received another $5.00 cat.
Feeling good, right now! So glad I got it through my dense head, recently, that A&P has many of the same sales as Pathmark. I would make only rare trips to PM since it is so much farther away, but, now, take advantage of the sales at (close by) A&P. The other day I got a few packages of the 80/20 ground beef at $1.99 lb, plus, other good sales items. Today, did my last trip for this week to take advantage of the Borden’s singles $0.99 sale, among other things. Really liked this trip, so, hope you don’t mind, just wanted to share! Also, took advantage of the self-scan aisle since my SR doesn’t have them -nice!!

I think that’s about a 75-80% saving, so, I’m tickled!
Great trip Rocky!!! A 75%-80% savings is AWESOME!!! I also shopped A&P last week, which is much closer for me as well. We’ll both be stocked up on cheese slices for awhile, lol. I just took a quick glance at the new match ups and it’s looking like there are some really good deals starting tomorrow. I am always thrilled to save so much of my grocery budget! It is also a lot of fun reading through the threads to see how well others are doing with their trips! I’ve had an exhausting week so far, this was a nice pick me up!
Thanks for sharing
I know it’s late in the sale, but I bought 4 Sargento cheese slices (3.99) 2.99 each, used 4 of the .55 coupons, and got the $5 Cat for buying $15 worth of Sargento. So shelf price confirmed in North Brunswick NJ!
Ok, went to Pathmark tonight because I was close by. Redid the deals I mentioned above at my local A&P. The cats did print and they did role at Pathmark! Others are reporting their A&P’s are printing but not the A&P near my home. Oh well. A new sale begins in an hour. Just hoping whatever problem this A&P had will be corrected.
At my Waldbaum’s, there are new tearpads for $1/2 Fresh Express – DND expires 1/31/13.
can anyone confirm catalina’s are working off shelf price or sale price?
thanks

Their items are the same this week. You can check out the circular on line to compare
Does not appear to be based on Shelf price this time
, at least not at my Waldbaum’s where it has been on other deals. I tried the Bimbo deal.
