I am kind of new to this but I plan on trying my coupons for CVS this week. I did not receive the Physicians formula coupon from the big red machine. BUT.. I do have a couple coupons that state $3 off My cosmetic purchase of $10. I also have a few $3/2 covergirl products.. Hopefully I can get a good deal on those coupons.
i have let so many $7-10 ones expire while on vacation the last few weeks is it from a specific product? if its not a “manufacturer” one and its a cvs issued one, or one that was printed separately either because it didn’t print or because you were purchasing an item from a rain check, the 1800 people can reissue it. otherwise its gone. i personally would use it to buy a reg price item over $10 and then refund it without a receipt to get a gift card that does not expire.
i’ve heard a few people on here before say their store manager recommended that.
You can also check with your store’s manager….some stores will accept expired ECB’s for a bit after they expired. Or, you can do RC’s suggestion about just buying something with the intent of returning it. I have done both once or twice. Actually, when I did the return, I used the receipt and there wasn’t a problem (because the ECB expiration date doesn’t show on your receipt).
When I have ECBs that exp while I’m away and I can’t put together a deal to roll them, I just use them at a CVS on vacation for souvenirs or other things I’ll need at the hotel like milk. Of course, this assumes there is a CVS where you are vacationing.
I did not get the PF $15 coupon from the red machine this time around.
In order to get the $10ECB this week, I am hopefully going to do this: I will buy 8 Pantene shampoo/conditioner using (4) $3/2 coupons and 7 of the $2 off any shampoo/conditioners from the red machine, which will be $26. I will also have to buy 5 of the $0.97 dishsoap to make up the difference, which will bring the total to $30.85. With the coupons totaling $26, my total will be $4.85 (taxes will be $2.16). I am going to ask if I can do this all in one transaction. If not, I will see if I can spilt it in 2. Hopefully I will get lucky!!
I’m not sure about seven of the $2.00 off shampoo coupons. Can you use them multiple times if you keep getting them? I never understood that part. I thought it was linked to your account. Anxious to know if this works, I would do it to since I didn’t get the Physican’s Formula coupon either.
My thinking is that each day I scanned my card I got the coupons, so I should be able to use it, you know? The wording on the coupons from the red machine do not say that there is a limit to the number that can be used in a single transaction. I am definitely going to ask right away about the transaction I am planning on doing. Hopefully they allow me to because I have a $4 ECB that I could use to make it an even better deal! My CVS is literally right across the street from me, so I am there all the time.
yes you can use multiple of those qs in one transaction as long as you have that many shampoos you can this coupon printed every day last week so that you could use it everyday I actually bought shampoo the first three days of the week with this q then saved my others for this week sales.
Jodi, I used 5 of my $2 off shampoo coupons yesterday with no problems. I’ve never had any issues using multiples that came from the red machine.
I ended getting 6 pantenes and 2 PH cosmetic items, used 3-$3/2 pantene man. q, 5- cvs $2 off shampoo, $1 off ph man q, $2 off peelie q on ph product and $1 ecb with a total OOP of $2.63 and got the gas gc.
Lesley, you may only need to purchase 4 of the $0.97 dish soap in order to reach $29.88, which could possibly (should) trigger the ECB. Just a thought.
yeah I looked there too but i didn’t have one. I guess the cvs gods don’t like me. but today I got a coupon from the mcm for a FREE cortaid anti itch cream up to $5.99.
I’m meaning to buy (2) tide using MQ (2) $1/1 from PG 7/1, (2) dawn using MQ (2) .25/1 from PG 7/1 and (2) PF using MQ (2) $1/1 from 5/6 SS which is a total of $29.86 and if I can use all coupons it will be 7.36 and get a $10 Gas Card. Will this work out fine using the (2) PF from 5/6 SS . TIA
You can use the $15 off of PF from the red machine and stack it with the (2) $1/1 from the SS. You can always stack a CVS q with a Manu q to maximize your savings!
I just got back from CVS and I was upset I could not take advantage of the Physician’s Formula because I did not have the $15 off, but I still did ok. I bought 1 tampax radiant tampons, 2 hawaiian tropic suncare and 1 womens schick hydro silk razor. The hawaiian tropic did not come up on sale and was $10.79 each, however this benefited me since I had a 30% off regular priced items linked to my card so this saved me $6.11 off these two items. I used a $2.00 off coupon on the tampons that came from a previous box inside, and a $4 off schick razor. I also had a $5 off from the CVS red machine for any schick hydro womens razor that printed last week. I used 2 $1 off hawaiian tropic and I had $6 in ECBs. My total out of pocket cost was $11.62 and the register printed $14 in ECBs ($3 for razor, $1 for tampons and $10 hawaiian tropic).
Just got back from CVS. Had a little trouble, so here is hat to look out for on the Spend $30 get $10ECB: I bought 8 Pantene and 5 Dawn (If I bought only 4 Dawn my total would have been around $29.88, but I did not want to take the chance of the ECB not printing). Two of the bottles of Pantene must have been on clearance because they rang up as $2.49 (I think they are the Pro Volume ones from what my receipt is showing). So they did not add toward the $30. In one transaction I used 7 of the $2 off Shampoo/Conditioner/etc. from the red machine. I was going to ask first if I could do that, but I saw that the cashier was a young male, so I went for it anyway! They all scanned, no problems, no beeps! I had it all planned out that my total before tax was going to be a little over $4, so I was going to use a $4ECB that I had. But the total came down to $2.78 (and $2.05 was tax!!) So right there I should have known that something was off, but at the time I did not think too much of it. So the $10 ECB did not print and the bottom of my receipt said that I still needed $5.65 towards the promotion. Then I saw that 2 of the bottles were priced at $2.49. So in order to get the $10, I bought 2 more bottles of Pantene (I scanned them first at the red machine to make sure they were the right ones). I had an extra $3 off 2 Pantenes and a $2 ECB from a previous purchase to use towards this transaction. The total came to $1.95 and the $10 ECB printed.
Soooo, pleaseeee be careful with the bottles of Pantene. Scan them at the red machine just to be sure. They must show up as being $3.25 each (2/$6.50). If you do not have the $15 PF coupon, and you have 4 of the $3 off 2 Pantene coupons and 7 coupons for the shampoo/conditioner from the machine…than all you need to buy is 8 bottles and 5 bottles of Dawn just to be safe (the total would be $30.85 before tax). With $26 in coupons, your total should be a little above $4 before tax.
In the end I spent $4.73 for 10 bottles of Pantene and 5 bottles of Dawn and got the $10 ECB. I definitely did not need shampoo, but I could not pass up a moneymaker (plus I will probably donate a bunch from my supply). It is so exciting using coupons and especially when the deals work out. It is such a rush!!!!
Thanks for the heads up, Lesley! Also, thank you for sharing such a GREAT detailed explanation of your transaction. This will save sooooo much time for me since I haven’t had much time to stay on top of all the deals!
You’re welcome!! I have read so many wonderful and useful reponses from people over the year I have been coming to this website. I am glad to finally have something useful to share! Good luck shopping!
I went back to CVS (which is right across the street from my apartment). I have my mom’s CVS card on my keys, so I went back to do the Pantene/Dawn deal again. She rarely goes to CVS, so I was able to scan her card 5 times this week and get the shampoo/conditioner coupon. I purchased 8 bottles of Pantene (I checked before I bought them to make sure they are $3.25 each (2/$6.50) and 5 bottles of Dawn. Used all my coupons and the $10 ECB printed out. So I spent a little over $4 (before taxes).
I wanted to report what I found today at CVS. I had the $15 Physicians Formula coupon, so I was buying two of the Hydrating Eye Creams. Bad news was they did not count towards my spend $30. Good news is they rang up at 5.25 each (maybe it was a clearance price?) and the full $15 came off. Also, the $7 off Physicians Formula cosmetics, I found the Eye Definer Felt tip eye marker (7.99) on sale for .99! And it counted towards the spend $30. I also used 3 different CVS shampoo coupons (they counted as one for each bottle) and they all came off, no problem.
Also thanks, Jamie, for the tip on Hawaiian Tropics, the 30% off worked great
Now I need to spend $16 more to get my $10 ECB for the spend $30, but I can use my $10 ECB from Hawaiian Tropics to pay for it! (and coupons, too, of course).
So i have 3 $2/1 shampoo cvs coupons
Mine are on sale 2/6.50
can i do this deal?
buy 4
6.50*2=13
- use 2 3/2 pantene mfc
and 3 $2/1 cvs coupons?
final = $0
Did a [pretty good job for myself at CVS this afternoon. Scanned my card at the big red machine and got the $15/PF coupon, 2.30 in EB and a coupon for free cartaid. I was able to use the PF coupon for the full amount, even though I only bought one of the PF items on sale for 7.99 So a 7.01 money maker! I used my 20 in EB from last week and a few coupons from the newspaper. Scored diapers, Tide, Dawn, milk , a bunch of beach toys , the PF formula and Downy for $35 ofp and left with 20 in EB. Just disappointed I couldn’t use the free cortaid. Only one they carried was one for over 6 and the coupon was good up to 5.99.
The Cortaid at my store was for $6.35 I think, and I used the coupon for a free one, which took off the $5.99. You can use it for the one at your store that is over $6…they would just take off $5.99.
CINDY, I just got back from CVS and If you do the b1g1 Head and shoulders coupon deal (2/$13) and use the coupon in todays p&g the coupon rings up at $9.49. So I got 2 27oz bottles of head and shoulders for $3.51 and I had CVS coupons from the red machine for another $2 off shampoo which made it $1.51. I dont know how long the coupon is going to work for before they catch on. Good luck!
As an fyi to others, each cashier is different (and each transaction is different, even with the same cashier!). The cashier allowed the coupon max of $9.49 to be deducted. I went back about 30 or 40 minutes later (after running to Walgreens and Rite Aid) and the same cashier would not scan the coupon…she manually input the actual cost of the item).
You’re welcome, Laura D. Actually, this is the full story of what I did, so it may really have you rethink your strategy (regarding size of the bottle, as well). I did 3 different transctions of buying 2 of the smaller size $9/2. The first two transactions were free! Store #1: He manually input $9 off for the coupon, so I had to pay $0.00 + $0.63 in tax. Store #2: She scanned the coupon which deducted $9.49, so $0.49 was applied to the $0.63 tax and I only had to pay $0.14 in tax even though she kept looking at the coupon and the cash register. I went back to Store #2 about 30 or 40 minutes later (after running to Walgreens & Rite Aid), got the same cashier, but she manually input $4.50 this time and would not allow me to use my second store coupon of $2/1 shampoo because it expired yesterday. (I will be returning these last two in a couple of days!) My point–after three different transactions that should have been similar, they were each completely different! I was lucky in getting the first two for free, very lucky for earning a bit of “money” towards tax for the second set of two, but then had to pay $2.50 + $0.63 for the third set of two.
Thanks Tina, I will keep that in mind. I did locate a CVS that “usually” works to my advantage …. but … ya NEVER know!!! In these circumstances I try to NOT have my OOP become too low a the register. I always have a stock up list and ECB’s on hand to manipulate my transactions. This particular shampoo, the itchy scalp, is the BEST shampoo to help psoriasis of the scalp, which one of my kids have. It even surpasses the shampoos recommended by dermatoligists! I come from a cosmetology family and we are all surprised at the results!
So, it is worth the stock up price! Thanks again……**fingers crossed**!! That’s the fun of couponning, right!
I have a $5 off Schick Hydro Power Select CVS coupon that printed this last week from the coupon machine!! Wouldn’t that make the razor a money maker?? Cause of the $4 MQ! I’m thinking so…
I bought 2 John Frieda hair color last week at CVS, tried to use 2 CVS coupons for any hair color for the red machine and the cashier told I could use only 1 coupon, plus mfr. ?
Martina, CVS policy says they will accept one Mfr coupon and one CVS coupon per item, unless prohibited by either coupon. So if either coupon said “one per transaction” then you could only use one. I have had problems where store employees don’t know their coupon policy, so I now have a copy of it in my binder . If you call corporate, they are very helpful, too.
I was able to print several 30% off coupons from the cvs e-mail promo. I used one yesterday. Can I use another if it is not expired or is it limited to one use per coupon code?????
thank you
can only use 1 time. I accidentally used in in 1st transaction. 2nd one would have saved me an extra $6!!! Please learn from my mistake so I’ll feel better
just got back from CVS, and wanted to let you know that if you use PF for the $10 ECB (or gas card, depending on where you live) that the $7 off comes off the total. So my $11.49 item only counted as $4.49 towards the rebate.
Also, my CVS has no Cortaid but honored with cvs brand . THANKS COMMENTERS FOR THAT IDEA!!!! at bottom of receipt it shows my 4.99 went towards a deal ‘Buy $7 of cvs 1st aid get $3 ECB’. So 1 free cvs cortizone and now I can spend 2.01 more and get 3$ ECB = MONEY MAKER!!
Where is this 30% off coupon that you can print? I am very new with the whole couponing thing and CVS is where I am starting off bu I get confused at a lot of the coupons I see people have that I cant seem to find
The 30% off was emailed through the cvs website (google it), you can sign up for emails and register your extracare card for more rewards.
Make sure each time you visit CVS you scan your card at the red coupon machine until it tells you there are no more coupons available today.
CVS is a great place to start, you’ll love it! Good Luck
I’m really trying to understand this PF thing. In Cindy’s scenario above, we should buy PF that costs $7.99 ea after the $7 discount?
I’m trying to put some kind of deal together, but would like some advice
I have:
$15 off any PF facial care red machine
$3/$15 beauty purchase from CVS FB 1 million likes
$17 in ECB that expire on the 4th
$8 in ECB that exp 8/1 (if needed)
4 $3/2 Pantene from previous non-exp’d P&G
Do Not have:
Mani q for PF
CVS q for shampoo
My ad is only good through tomorrow. Don’t know why.
There are 2 sales on Physicians Formula. Skin care is on sale for 7.99 and cosmetics are pay 7 get 7 off. some people are finding products in both categories that are clearance prices.
q that is 15 off is for skin. some people get full 15 off for 1 item only
Hi Lady J, I am short on time but this is what I came up with, HTH!
Buy 2 PF skin care (price check to make sure it’s $7.99 each)
Buy 4 Pantene shampoo (I would price check everything! 2/$6.50)
Buy 1 PF Concealer Twins (Double sided concealer, look for “bonus”package . it contains 2 for the price of 1 $1.49 ….$8.49-7)
Pay $6.47 (Use some of your ECB’s from the $17 total, you didn’t say if it was only one big ECB or if it was broken up into smaller amounts. If its big, purchase other items you need.)
$30.47 – $15 – $3 – $6 = $6.47 (a $6 ECB would be sweet!) + tax
Not as good as Cindy, but still a $3.53 MM. Good Luck!
One more thing, the $0.99 PF Eye Definer Felt tip eye marker will count for the Gas card deal, ($29.97 total). However the PF Matte Collection Quad eye shadow $0.99 will NOT count towards the gas card! You may want to adjust depending on your store stock.
Free head & shoulders…
Buy the smaller size: on sale 2/9, use B1G1 which is ringing at full value ($9.49 – adjusted down to $9 if you only buy 2) final price: FREE!!!
I bought 4 today, first Q rang at $9.49, second one at $8.51 (for a total of $18.00) for four free Head & Shoulders! I’m going back for more!!!
FYI–it will depend on the cashier and what they choose to do. I did 3 different transctions of buying 2 of the smaller size $9/2. Store #1: He manually input $9 off for the coupon, so I had to pay $0.00 + $0.63 in tax. Store #2: She scanned the coupon which deducted $9.49, so $0.49 was applied to the $0.63 tax and I only had to pay $0.14 even though she kept looking at the coupon and the cash register.
That’s Awesome!! When I tried to use my H&S coupon today at self checkout, it wouldnt ring up at all. The sales attendant tried to fix it and couldn’t get it to ring correctly either. I decided I will try it tomorrow at another CVS.
Don’t forget the pampers are part of the buy $30 get $10 so this is actually a fantastic stock up price if you have $4 off $20 and the new $3 off a box coupon from this sundays paper. I did the deal three times and then bought some Covergirl and Head & Shoulders for only $35 plus tax out of pocket after ECB’s. Plus I made sure each box gave me coupons back inside.
scanned my card everyday this week and no 15/2 coupons. I am just going to get some tide with my extra care and maybe shampoo, and call it a day, my extra care expires monday.
Thank you to everyone for the deal ideas….Cindy….you have helped me beyond measure this year!!! To all of you that share your successes and challenges…..THANK YOU! I just got back from CVS w/4 free Head & Shoulders, which I NEVER would have thought of, all because you took the time to post on here!:)
Heads up on mail in rebates for the Physician’s Formula make-up. I went to CVS 7/3 and the $15 coupon printed for me, unfortunately though I didn’t have any manu q’s. I wound up buying 3 boxes of make-up (cover-up). Total of all 3 was $24.27 (6.99/9.29/7.99). There’s a MIR attached to specially marked boxes. If you buy 1 you get $5, 2 you get $10, and 3 you get $25. Therefore, 24.27 minus $15 q minus $25 MIR = $15.73 money maker.
Also, the head and shoulders deal worked for me. I did the 2/$9 and the B1G1 coupon took off $9.49. I’m in NY and I called my friend in CT who tried it right after me and her store wound up voiding her 9.49 and manually input the $4.50. So it really does depend on store/cashier.
Overall my trip was a success. I spent $64, saved $71, received a $10 gas card, $4 in ECB, plus am able to do the $25 MIR. Not close to $0 but I bought a lot
Where are the Covergirl coupons from?
THE GAS DEAL IS IN PA AS WELL!
FYI- Physicians Formula cosmetics aren’t $7, they are SAVE $7 (on any cosmetic $7 and up) so this could make for some really good deals on makeup!
I was thinking the same on Physicians cosmetic offer, the add said SAVE $7 on any cosmetic value $7 or more.
I just bought the Physician’s formula twin concealer stick, it came out to be $1.49!
Thanks Cindy,
the OOP in deal # 1 should be $6.70 not $4.70. or am I missing something?
Cindy’s calculations are right
she has two of the $2 shampoo CVS coupons.
Thanks Michelle, I see it now.
now I got to check my cvs qs and see if I had 2. of those….I think this is the only good deal so far..
happy shopping
I don’t have the $15 physicians coupon
any other deal ideas without the physicians formula coupon ??
same here i went every day this week and never got it
Where are people getting the 15dollar shampoo one from
Man, I have a 10 ECB to use and I go on vacation when it expires, adm there is nothing good this week. I will find something to use it for.
i have let so many $7-10 ones expire while on vacation the last few weeks

Batteries go a lot in my house so if there is a time with no good deals I get them so it does not go to waste.
Is the $15 physicians formula coupon printing from the red machine? thanks
Yes.
I did not get the PF $15 coupon from the red machine this time around.

Jodi, I used two $2 coupons on trial size shampoos in the same transaction — no problem!! There is no size limit on the coupons.
Thats fantastc Deena! I never knew you could use multiple. Ugh, ive been throwing duplicates away! Thanks so much!
They are not duplicates, check the number on the bar scan code. totally different!
My thinking is that each day I scanned my card I got the coupons, so I should be able to use it, you know? True! And if it doesn’t then I could just buy another one.
Don’t forget to scan your card tom at the machine is 7/1 so that means your ecb will print…can’t wait to.see how much I’m getting
Will they still print after 7/1 or is it ONLY on 7/1 I can get it? cause if so I missed it:(
you didn’t miss it. There is a short while where you can print it (I think maybe 10 – 14 days). Maybe check the cvs site. Or maybe someone here knows.
thanks!
where is the $15 Physicians Formula CVS Coupon???
It printed out from the red machine last week or the previous week. Not exactly sure because I was not lucky to get it!
I didn’t get one either. I went like everyday but nothing.
I found mine on my CVS.com account and I was able to print it multiple times. Log in to your account and see if you find it there.
yeah I looked there too but i didn’t have one. I guess the cvs gods don’t like me. but today I got a coupon from the mcm for a FREE cortaid anti itch cream up to $5.99.
I got one THIS MORNING, July 1!!!!!
Was wondering you can use (1) 15/1 PF and and (2) $1/1 PF from 5/6 SS if your going to buy 2.
TIA
Hello were does one get the $15.oo off for the PF?
It printed when I scanned my cvs card at the red coupon machine. Another reader posted they found theirs in their cvs account online. HTH!
I believe the the 5/6 SS is for cosmetics and the $15 from the red machine is for skin care
Went this morning. My PF coupon said $15 off facial care products. I bought 1 skin moisturizer for 8.79 and it took off the $15!!
Yesterday from the red machine I got:

Mine are on sale 2/6.50
can i do this deal?
buy 4
6.50*2=13
- use 2 3/2 pantene mfc
and 3 $2/1 cvs coupons?
final = $0
Yes, but your total would be $1
Did a [pretty good job for myself at CVS this afternoon.
Don’t forget the $1 Cortaid coupon from 6/10 RP!
I have an issue having to pay for something that should be free! Esp since it was not on my original shopping list.
If you use the $1/1 q Michelle T. mentioned from the 6/10 RP + the $5.99 deduction from the CVS q you will get overage! Better than free!
Thanks Tina for the heads up. I was really hoping to stock up later on this week. Now I may rethink my strategy.
Just did this deal today to get the gas card.
2 Pantene – 2/$6.50
1 Covergirl Olay foundation $17.49
1 Covergirl Olay concealer $7.41 (B1G1 1/2 off)
4 Nivea creams $1.19 each
$36.16
Coupons used
2 $3 off $10 cosmetics CVS
2 $2 off shampoo CVS
1 $3/2 covergirl – 7/1 P&G
1 $3/2 Pantene
OOP 19.16
Received $10 gas card, $8 ECB and will submit for $10 Covergirl/Olay rebate
Makes it a $8.84 moneymaker. Could have been a better deal if I didn’t use my 30% coupon yesterday – could have used it for the covergirl
Hi Karen, where did you get the Covergirl/Olay rebate from? TIA!
The very first link under the covergirl section above should lead you to the link.
Thanks Jodi, much appreciated!!!
I have a $5 off Schick Hydro Power Select CVS coupon that printed this last week from the coupon machine!! Wouldn’t that make the razor a money maker?? Cause of the $4 MQ! I’m thinking so…
YES!!! Great deal!!!
I have had problems where store employees don’t know their coupon policy, so I now have a copy of it in my binder
Thank you Michelle
Nivea MM worked great 4 x .99 and got back $8ECB!!! THANKS CINDY AND FRIENDS
just got back from CVS, and wanted to let you know that if you use PF for the $10 ECB (or gas card, depending on where you live) that the $7 off comes off the total.
FYI I had the same senerio, but you only get a 2ECB when you spend $7. I still went for it tho.
Good Luck
am i the only one that didn’t manage to snag a shampoo q? Are these still printing?
P.S. Does facial care = skin care? Or is that anything that goes on the face – like makeup too?
There are 2 sales on Physicians Formula. Skin care is on sale for 7.99 and cosmetics are pay 7 get 7 off. some people are finding products in both categories that are clearance prices.
q that is 15 off is for skin. some people get full 15 off for 1 item only
I think facial care = skin care.
Total : $30.47 (Will trigger Gas Card)
- $15 PF CVS coupon
-$ 3/15 CVS facebook Beauty Purchase coupon
- (2) $3/2 Pantene coupons
Uh Oh! My ad is only good until today!!! Thanks for posting that!!
Guess where I’m headed, lol!
Hope we both have “Happy Transactions”!!
I’m going back for more!!!
where is the bogo coupon from?
Jenny, P&G 7/1/12
thanks!
I have a great scenario if my Head & Shoulder’s coupon rings up full price! Fingers crossed!
Aw man! I was one of the select locations that got the smaller ad. I was planning on doing the Physician’s Formula deal and it was over. Ugh!
