We have a 3 projects that we are planing on doing this summer. 1)redo our backyard porch the goes into the pool. 2) is to remodel two basement rooms that we like to make as a family room and man cave/studio. 3) The biggest challenge of them all is the living room because i have no ideas as to how to redo it. The ceiling has really cherry wood beams and its all open consept to the living and kitchen. we have some board riped up from the deck, we starting painting a room in the basement. So hopefully lets see how long it takes us to finish.

We just moved our daughter’s crib out of our bedroom and into her own bedroom and are in the process of redecorating her room. We’d also like to renovate our first floor bathroom.
My plans for the summer are to have more outdoor picnics on my apt. balcony! I also want to find a new cute outdoor chair/table set for a cheap price, make some mini garden gnomes and possibly make a wreath for the front door. Oh, and gets lots of fun in the sun! hehe

My 4 year old keeps telling me that he doesn’t like the green I painted his walls (for his nursery). He wants a big boy dark blue. I’ve already told him that we can paint his room this summer and he gets to pick the color 🙂
My hubby and I plan on decorating our backyard with different colored fabrics and set em up as sails for some shade. The sails are gonna look perfect next to our bamboo bar. Also, plan on redesigning my herb garden and set em up in rain gutters and nailing em on the side of my garage to save outdoor space. Summer parties, here we come!

Yes! I bought my house a little over a year ago when I was 23. We knew we needed to repaint the house and do some other decorating projects, so I have been saving my money to help pay for that. Lo and behold, my boyfriend (now fiance) proposed to me last December, so now any money I saved has been going toward the wedding in September. Thanks for the chance!!

We have an ‘office’, which is code for paperwork and everything in between, in piles. Said office is lacking one thing, practical furniture and organizing. It once had a floor, a glorious floor between the 4 walls.
With that said, we need a great excuse to finish this between 50 hr work weeks lol!

So many plans…so little time. Right now I have to figure out how to patch* a sofa that our puppy has been muching on. My husband has been planning a big repair to our livingroom floors for months now…If I am lucky he will get to it next month. I feel embarrassed to invite anyone over my house until at least these 2 projects are finished.
* Maybe this is a good question for your readers. How do you patch, maintain it in good condition, and/or cover up your sofa when you have a puppy in the house?

After that I will be looking at what I can do to update a lovely 80’s bathroom that is all blue..blue sink, blue toilet, blue shower, blue flooring, blue countertop..yup, lots of blue..I’ll be singing the blues soon if I don’t update it 🙂

I finally moved our family of 7 from a mobile home to a house. Since my toddler daughters finally have a room of their own (and are not in our room) I’m saving up to decorate their room into a ‘princess’ room.
I would love to be able to decorate and buy “grown up furniture” as I have the same old things that were passed down from my parents. As a single mom simple things like that arent easy to do! Needless to say my apt needs some updating!!
Our house was a foreclosure short sale, and the people who lived there had gutted the place. So, absolutely, yes, we will be working on the house this summer. The pending projects include: Painting our daughter’s room (she is turning one), completing the first floor shower and bathroom (which has tile piled in it right now), spreading a gravel walkway in the backyard and fencing in the garden, and last but not least beginning to refinish the basement walls and floors before our cat brings any more ‘presents’ down there that are still alive (the last one almost got into the wall and stayed there!)

I am going to revive my 18-year old cedar deck since we can’t quite afford a new stone patio. I ripped out some of the old rotting wood already, visited the home improvement store for paint, borrowed a pressure washer from my sister and brought a new gazebo, complete with mosquite netting…. Now, if only the weather will cooperate and stop raining for a few days…..
well, we live in a studio, and to be honest we just have our baby’s wall decorated. nothing else on walls (photos, art, etc) besides my 8 month old its starting to crawl and moving all around. we need to redo/organize/decorate our little space “small, but cozy” hopefully we can work things out this summer. 🙂

Im taking photos from a couple of last years calendars, putting them in light weight plastic frame/boxes and putting them on the walls. I usually rotate these photos each year but havent gotten to it yet. Im also going to paint the living room, get a new couch, new shades/window treatments. Maybe an area rug too.

Last year we had a very unfortunate experience… Our only full bathroom leaked and came thru our ceiling in the kitchen. We ended up having to spend $6000 on a new bathroom upstairs but by the time we were done we had no money left to repair the holes in our kitchen ceiling. We are in the process of finally finishing it this year. Sprucing up any room would be a great gift after that year long disaster!!

I have started on my little re-decorating. I don’t really sew and this is my first DIY project. Made throw pillows in fun summery colors for the family room. Took me a long time to finish them but hubby said they look really nice (he should really say that… LOL). Next is the cover for our dining room chairs. Hope I can finish them before summer is over.

We just painted my daughter’s bathroom and in the process found out that we need a new towel bar and some anchors to hang the medicine cabinet! Unexpected expenses, so a gift card would be awesome!

My 101 year old house requires constant decorating and repairs. While I have the desire, my funds and skills are lacking. Right now (thanks to the internet) I’m learning how to build a set of porch steps and building a retaining wall for a flower bed.
