I wanted to share my shopping trip to Walmart tonight with you! I totally took advantage of Walmart’s price matching. I took in the ad from Staples to score the Zebra Pens for $1 and Toys R Us for the 24 pack Crayola Crayons 4/$1 which I got ALL FOR FREE thanks to the overage from the $2/1 Zebra Pens coupon!
Bought:
- (3) Zebra Pens, $2.49, price matched to Staples $1.00 each
- (12) Crayola Crayons, $0.50, price matched to Toys R Us, $0.25 each
Coupons Used:
- (3) $2/1 Zebra Pen Printable (NLA) plus $3 in overage
Total Paid: $0.00!

Awesome!! i will love to do deals like this but my walmart is so anti-coupons that as soon as they see i have coupons they change their faces and do everything possible to not take them…… i get so frustrated… so i just dont shop with coupons there any more
but im happy you are able to score this great deals!!!
You really need to write AND call their corporate office! I had a problem with them a few times BUT after emailing and calling it got a bit better. I also caryy the coupon pocily with me and it helps take care of most problems.
Call them!! I had me and few of my friends have had that issue with our local Walmart. I mean they see coupons the instantly got rude, and even sometimes refused overage. We made three calls in like a weeks time because we all had issues. The final time the store manager said that there had been a lot of complaints, and has retrained the cashiers on their coupon policy. No issues since then, but I always am prepared.
Just be careful….the WASHABLE crayons are NOT on sale at TOYS R US for 4 for $1! It is ONLY the 24 count regular crayons! I have been to 6 Walmarts in NJ and NONE of them have the washables cheaper than $1.88!
Aren’t all Crayola products washable? I would hope so! I don’t usually look because I assume it is…
My Wal-mart adjusts coupons down so there is no overage…. still free – but frustrating!
They are not supposed to do that – it’s in their policy to give overage. I’d print it out and bring it in next time.
