Can the $5/$30 be combined with easy rebates?
Yes, I did that twice yesterday.
Thanks! I guess that is $30 after “instant savings” and before easy rebate?
Just be aware that they usually reduce the amount of the rebate by the amount of the discount or coupon. So you’ll spend less OOP, but the easy rebate won’t be any more than you actually paid.
So a % of the $5 will come off each item and then the rebates will be for those amounts? Not really needing any of these items enough to even pay tax, lol
Yes, exactly.
I live in NY and I have to pay tax on almost all “free” items. Or if I use a coupon that makes something really cheap, I’m still charged tax on the pre-coupon price. Don’t know how it works in other states.
This has not been my experience. When I use a $5/$30 coupon for example, a percentage is taken off of each item (listed on the receipt), but the rebate amount itself is for the full value. Though I do still have to pay tax on the “free” items.
Wow!! The price of those RoseArt markers REALLLYY went up, lol!!
i hope there is still stuff left when i get there thurs lol
Does anyone know if Staples is adhering to the 2 per customer limit on the penny deal items this week (glue, crayons, etc.)? I’m a teacher and I love to stock up on the back to school sales, but this limit has me worried. I know Office Depot didn’t seem to pay attention to posted limits during last year’s back to school sale (unless I lucked out with my cashier). Not sure about Staples though.
You can separate transactions and do the deal more than once. I didn’t have any problems, good luck.
After a quick look online I found the answer to my question and thought I’d pass it along. For any teachers who may be wondering, Staples is no longer honoring extended quantities for educators on penny deals. In past years, Staples would allow teachers to present their Teacher Rewards card to purchase up to 25 items , despite limits indicated in the sales flyer or those posted in store. Instead, Staples is offering 100 % back in Staples Rewards for purchases made during the Back to School season. Not the answer or the deal I was hoping for
