Cheryl–just got back from Acme–it worked! I bought 3 crystal light and got the $2 cat and I got the instant savings with the 7 other items I purchased. And the buy 2 get $1 part of the catalina deal is advertised on the shelf tag. This deal would have been really sweet if there was coupon to use with it….
Also wanted to let you know, the Progresso Soups are 88 cents like you have up there, but I have a coupon for 1$/4. I’m not sure which circular I found it in, but I have it! (I cut my coupons out, and so I don’t know what week they come from). So 3.52 for four, minus 1$. 2.52 for 4 cans of soup. GREAT deal in my opinion. Just about 50 cents a can.
if anyone has a Food Lion, they have a BBQ cooking displays that have tons of $0.50/1 Kraft BBQ 17.50 oz or larger, which CAN double and it makes it free at tons of stores!
Heads up! To sweeten the Crystal Light Deal, look out for tear-pads on Crystal light displays on endcaps. I found a tear pad on a small cardboard stand up next to an endcap. Coupon: $1/2 Crystal Light 8-12 qt drink mix products.
went to Acme tonight and the shelves were clear of every box of Lucky Charms. I asked if they had more. They looked but nope none. A guy was in a little before me and bought every box…there were 30 of them and had a coupon for every one. Ughh I only wanted 6 boxes. Some people need to have quantities limited!! I have seen and heard of issues before with convienence store owners buying out all the sale items. Now I have to go back another day.
How would you feel if they told you …you can only have 2 boxes. Everyone wants limits until those limits apply to them. I know the frustration though. I have been there.
I try to get up at 7 am when the store opens so I can go before work.
Sometimes you snooze you loose. Do you REALLY want Acme to start limiting quantities or restricting duplicate coupons etc?
I went on the 1st day of the sale so I would have thought they would have been stocked. I would like to see them use their discretion when offering a big sale. When they see the same few people every week buying and clearing the shelves (i have been there on more than 1 occasion when this happened) they should restrict them from doing so. Since when does a woman need to purchase every single box of pancake mix, syrup and captain crunch in the store…..when she has her own local quick shop. Customer service has said no when they ask for the store to order them 12 cases of cereal (just last night the guy wanted an additional 12 cases of lucky charms). So I believe it should be the stores right to limit the amount of anything a person buys especially on the 1st day of a sale.
I am use to limits Shoprite limits you to 4 items for just about everything.
Also, at my Acme, there is usual a limit of 10 boxes of cereal (when it is on sale) because we DO have people coming in cleanning the shelves off to resell other places. So some Acmes do do this.
My Acme limits to 5 like coupons. Some of them do not limit? I was just happy that it was one more than Shop Rite. They never seem to run out of things at this store (Hamilton Square, Mercer County, NJ).
Just go back and ask for a rain check. That way after the sale is over and they restock you still get the price and can use your coupons (if they don’t expire right away).
Store Limits are awful Danielle. Last time I checked there were more than one Acme. Shhhhh Acme is the last store in NJ that is flexible with limits. (middlesex, NJ limits 15 coupons). I have a large family of 8, where is four boxes going to get me? Sure won’t be able to stockpile with that limit. Needless to say 4 would last me no more than a few days. Yes I am someone who may buy 30 boxes but I am not a store owner. I don’t get angry when stock is out. Rainchecks are wonderful. Why ruin a good thing? Walmart price matches too. Maybe try that route.
Well I went back today and the shelves were empty of mostly every GM cereal on sale. The same man came in last night (when head management was not there) and cleared the shelves again. There is now a limit of 6 boxes of GM cereal for the sale. NOW MOST PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE MAD AT THAT but when I am driving 25 minutes to the closest Acme for a good sale (I need other things but want to do it all in one trip) a limit is good. The manager told me that when they are in they DO NOT allow these store owners (and management knows who they are) clear the shelves. So the people come in at night when it is mostly younger associates. This was explained to me in length today. AND I am a person with a large family and I can buy 15 boxes of cereal in a trip but would never walk in and clear the shelves and be greedy about it and keep going back and doing the same thing. I got a raincheck today………but sure hope they are able to solve this problem soon:)
It’s a shame I was looking forward to some free toothpaste & brushes, however, all of my P&G inserts are for different amounts (Toothpaste $1/2 and Toothbrushes only good on the Children’s). Oh well maybe next time!
My Walgreens has a tearpad with .50/1 Crystal Light which acme doubled. Also, yo plait gogurt triggered a Catalina, I bought 6 boxes and got a $2 cat. The gogurt boxes have codes for a free kids movie ticket when you get three codes. I bought 6 boxes @2/4. Used 3 .75/2, got a $2 cat and 2 free movie tickets for $5.50. Not a bad deal at all!

Nevermind. I posted before I REALLY looked. It says single packets are excluded…and I think that is what the sale at Acme is for.
