Extreme Couponing Shopping Trip
I first want to apologize for not posting my shopping trips over the last month. Unfortunately, I have had a month that I do not ever want to repeat. I won’t go into details as it would take up too much space on the site and too much of your time as I know most of you are getting prepared for Hurricane Sandy.
I do want to thank my wonderful crew for stepping up to the plate and covering the deals in my absence. So, a big thank you to Megan, Melinda, Gigi, Loretta and everyone else that helps to keep the deals coming and posted for you guys. And, of course, you guys for always contributing your finds!
A few weeks ago we posted a new video feature called Talking Thrifty with Cindy. Unfortunately that did not start yet with all the things that happened. Our alternate plan was to get that going early this week so I’m hoping to get that done and posted as long as Hurricane Sandy does not take away the electricity at my house.
And, speaking of Hurricane Sandy, for those of you that are in the path (including me) be safe and remember to follow the tips on How to prepare for a Hurricane.
This morning I headed to ShopRite. My goal was strictly to test out some catalina deals. Some worked, some did not and some were a little strange.

- $1.00 Catalina from MiO (this should have been a double dip for today and it should have been a $3 catalina. One of these ends today and one continues on for the next month. I’m not sure where this $1 catalina came from)
- $3 Catalina from Kraft when you buy $10 in Kraft Cheese products (Kraft Fresh Take is included)
- $3 Catalina from Kraft Fresh Take wyb 4 (ends today)
- $0.75 Catalina from Dole wyb 4 (Fruit Crisps)
- $0.75 Catalina from Dole wyb 4 (Fruit Crisps) – one ends today
- I was hoping for a $1 catalina from Dole for the Frozen Fruits (wyb2) but, either it’s not working at ShopRite or it’s for different frozen fruit items as it did not print.

I didn’t get the second catalina for the Fresh Takes today.
Same thing happened to me on my first transaction of four. I got the Freshtake Cat but not the Kraft Cat. I went to customer service and they gave it to me… I tried it again with a groan preparing for a fight…but it printed the second time.
Oh! Anything I can do now that I’m at home and not at the store anymore?
Ugh! Same thing happened to me. Possibly it’s a flavor thing? Since it printed the second transaction for Alan. Alan, if you read this, which flavors did you buy for T1 & T2, just wondering.
Nicole – we need to email catalina marketing to have a coupon mailed out.
What is their email? I called SR customer service, and they took all my info and receipt info. They said they are going to let the catalina company know.

As I came to read this… I just got a warm loaf of Fleischmann’s Simply Homemade Italian Bread. We did the alternate recipe on the back and added in a cup of Colby Jack Cheese.
To say it was good…would be an understatement. OMG! All I could do not to eat the whole loaf while it is still warm.
That be said… I did buy 12 boxes of Fleischmann’s. 8 Freshtake for a $2 MM for each 4 bought. (First Kraft Cat did not print and thought I would have to go back..but for whatever reason the cat did print on second.)
I also got 10 cans of Thick and Chunky Hunt Sloppy Joe. $10/10 and 5 dollar Cat so .50 each. My 2 year old loves this stuff (Suprise to me and wife and my son likes it so its a win/win for a fast lunch / dinner.)
The Wholey Salsa at 3/5 this week and several 1.50 off one coupons = .16 cents. To my suprise the Salsa itself had a $1/1 coupon on them (peelie)
I got a couple Ellio’s Pizza for .49 cents for the 5 cheese Italian.
A few super coupons for chicken breast and pears and got two Frigo reduced fat string cheese for 2.99 – 1.10 = 1.89. Finally got a Friendship Cottage Cheese and Light Sour Cream to round out my trip before I headed to Giant for Pepsi 4 12pk for $11. Not a super deal but its been a fairly long time since a 4 for $10 has popped. I drink Diet Mt. Dew and do not like 2 liters so its near impossible to get great deals. 4 for $10 is about as good as it gets (yes …I am very addicted.)
Anyway…thanks for filling in this week and happy eating! The bread is Yummy!

went to shop rite didthe hunts deal didnt get the cat went to customer service didnt print cat gave me 5.00 instead
I had no trouble with the Kraft Fresh Take breadcrumbs deal. I bought 4 with 4 coupons and got a total of $6 in Catalinas. What a sweet deal!
The bread boxes have 75 cent coupons inside
Lol..yeah I saw the .75/1 coupon on the bread. DND though
I just left the store and none of my Catalina’s printed at all. Do I contact my shoprite or do I go straight to Catalina?? if so whats the number.
Customer Service can help. Normally if none of the cats print the cashier forgot to turn on the Cat machine. Has happened to me before.

I had not trouble with both cats printing for the Fresh Takes, although I should have checked the expiration dates. 2 of them expire in 2 weeks. By the way,will someone tell me where they are finding the Homemade bread box. I have hunted 2 stores for 2 weeks- nothing. I have checked the baking aisle and bread aisle. Thanks

Fresh Take worked great. Only had 2 coupons, so final is 25 cents each. Received both catalinas. Had an issue with the Hunt’s. Purchased 6 diced tomatoes; 3 crushed tomatoes, 1 Hunt’s pasta sauce. I realized when I got back home that the $5.00 coupon was missing. I called the store. Their response – bring your receipt in and we’ll take care of it.
I had the opposite problem…the Hunt’s printed fine for me, but I did not get the $3 catalina from Kraft (I got the catalina for the one that expired today from the Kraft Fresh Take)!
Welcome back Cindy! Your crew ROCKED the site!!! I hate to admit this, but I really didn’t realize you were away. I did notice the name changes on the posts, I just figured it was something new, lol! You should be very proud! After the storm, I think a Dunkin Donuts party run should be in their future!

I only received 1 ($3 cat ) for the fresh take deal. Do I call catalina?
Interesting.. I got both $3 coupons for Fresh Take. Did not get the Hunts $5 (the CSR originally tried to tell me that one of the $3 coupons was for Hunts but obviously realized she was wrong when she saw it was supposed to be $5. She printed one for me.
The bread mix worked great, the ecoupon applied and the 75c coupon doubled. I ended up paying $12.13 and got $11 back in Catalinas!
I didnt get any of the cats for Fresh Take, I went to customer service and I was only able to get one, as a rain check for $3 off my next order (for Kraft) since the other one was not listed in the circular.
