Usually they work as store coupons. They should come off during the scanning process. To make sure they came off, just take a look at your printed receipt and they are in bold type under the items as they were scanned. For instance if you only needed to buy one item it comes off right after but if you were requires to buy two, you will see it under the second. You can still have them scan a manufacturers coupon at the end of order for additional savings.
