  • I really wish I could figure out deals as good as this. My family is hurting so bad financially right now. We’re living on cereal that I got great deals on a while ago.. I don’t know why, but this is just so confusing for me and I can’t seem to figure out how you guys get such great deals. I can only do a little bit here and there, but I can never manage to get stuff like everyone else!! But this is really awesome!!

    • @Wendy I personally feel like you need to do planning ahead of time. I only shop at ShopRite and CVS. I’m a FTWM and don’t have the time to shop all over. I rely on this blog a lot to help me find the deals. I don’t buy a lot of the items there are usually coupons for, but I save at least $25-$30 with coupons every time I food shop – between ecoupons and manufacturers. I am also picky with the brands I buy, but if you aren’t you can absolutely get things for pennies. Keep a binder. Take time to look through sale circulars and compare with your coupons. You can do this!

Wendy…I can understand what you are going through….we are a family of 5 and have a budget of about 60 dollars a week…trust me we eat well with all the couponing that i do…Cindy matches the coupon up with the sale items….On tues she will post the shop rite ad and I will compare sale items to see if I should get the Items I need now or wait to see if it will be on sale..if you follow her on facebook then you will also see the deals others are getting match them up with the coupons. You will get it..Just keep it up and ask questions…. hope this helps ~Adriane

    • Yes, plan plan plan! And practice!! If you’re just starting out, don’t expect to have a shopping trip like the one above. Also, get a couponing buddy that you can bounce deals/coupons back and forth with :)

    • Wendy, Where are you from? Maybe if you post your area someone on here might want to become coupon buddies with you. I am in Kingston NY. If you need any help please ask. We all were newbies at one time. I am on facebook if you want friend me. I will help you at any time.

    • Wendy,

Feel free to email me. I have many many extra coupons to share with you via mail and have the time to help you and your family. I’ve been couponing almost 3 decades, pay basically nothing for my groceries and donate bags every week.

Hope to hear from you soon!

    • Wendy,
Same here. You can contact me thru email at huillee@hotmail.com and I will help you as much as I can. I am in East Windsor, NJ but I can mail you the coupons I will not use and share with you my knowledge.
PS: look at me! Complaining of “foggy brain Sunday” and now offering guidance. :-)

    • Hi Wendy, I’m in Kinnelon, NJ . Let me know if I can help in any way as well.

  • Great job! Did a similar shopping trip but used a local $ 5 of $ 40 coupon additionally!

  • Thank you for posting this! I’m new to this and Shoprite is my local store. The cost vs coupon cost list is really helpful!

  • Those are Caffeine Free Pepsi pictured, not Diet Pepsi.

  • I’ve always assumed the coupons like the refrigerated juice ones were for shoprite brand juices…or whatever the coupon is for. These are the coupons that print from the cat machine right? I can’t believe I haven’t been using them!!!!

    • Always look through the catalina coupons. Many are manufacturer ones. I’ve also received coupons for $2.50 off my next fresh meat/seafood or produce. I got one Monday for a free bag of baby carrots.

    • Yes Christina, since it did not specify that it had to be Shoprite brand. I just figured to use it to get a Minute Maid drink for 24cents…lol:)

  • This is so awesome and shopping trips like this make it so much fun and rewarding to use coupons.

I would personally love to see the shopping trips that Michelle (2/19, 301pm) is talking about where she saves only $30-50 a trip because they are more realistic, BUT BUT BUT shopping trips like this one are the reason I started to follow this blog in the first place!

Anyone could do this, Wendy. It just takes time and patience. Really, to really get good at couponing, it took me a good 6 months to find a groove and relly stockpile my coupon binder, before I could even really get my pantry stocked.

Good luck. Thank you so much for sharing.

Cindy, thank you for saving my family as much money as you do. Without this blog, I wouldn’t have nearly as full shelves, my family wouldn’t get the perks of shopping from my freebies, and I wouldn’t have the best hobby that benefits my family.

  • Yay, Shanta. Goood work.

  • Awesome trip Shanta.
To all the Wendys out there… Stick to it. Everyone gave great advice.
