ShopRite ConAgra Double Dip Update

Update:  We already have an update on this.  It seems that some of the Banquet Brown & Serve Sausage have a pre-price plus price of only $1.19 so be very sure to purchase the sausage that has a pre-price plus of $1.39.  If you do purchase the $1.19 sausage then you will have to adjust your quantity to meet the $20 total.

Here is a deal idea for the $1.19 sausage:

Buy 14 Banquet Brown n Serve Sausage ($1.19) $0.99 each (qualified for ConAgra & towards Frozen Foods)
Buy 4 Banquet Banquet Pot Pies, ($0.87) $0.77 each (towards Frozen Foods)
Subtotal: $16.94 ($20.14)
Get: $3.00 Catalina (Congra Dollar Days)
Get: $5.00 Catalina (Campbell’s Catalina Deal)
as low as $0.49 each after Catalina Double Dip

Original Post:

It appears, from a bunch of you, that the double dip for the Banquet Brown n Serve Sausage is not working.  It’s listed in both the Dollar Days ConAgra Offer (Buy 10 Get a $3 Catalina) and the Frozen Foods Offer (Buy $20 Get a $5 Catalina).  From what I can see so far, most of you are ONLY getting the ConAgra Catalina ($3) from doing the following deal:

Buy 12 Banquet Brown n Serve Sausage ($1.39) $0.99 each (qualified for ConAgra & towards Frozen Foods)
Buy 4 Banquet Banquet Pot Pies, ($0.87) $0.77 each (towards Frozen Foods)
Subtotal: $14.96 ($20.16)
Get: $3.00 Catalina (Congra Dollar Days)
Get: $5.00 Catalina (Campbell’s Catalina Deal)  **NOT PRINTING
as low as $0.44 each after Catalina Double Dip

There could be a couple of reason why it’s not printing the Frozen Foods $5 Catalina. These are just speculation:

  1. It’s working on sale price and not Pre-Price Plus Price for Frozen Food Catalina which would then require buying more to hit your $20 mark.
  2. Some or all of the Brown n Serve Sausage varieties may not set be up for the deal in their database

So, I would hold off on trying this offer until we can determine what the situation is.  If anyone does receive the $5 catalina, let us know how many and which varieties you purchased.

Would buying just the sausage work, since it’s explicitly included in both deals? Going off of a $1.39 shelf price, you would have to buy 15 to get over the $20 threshold.

    • Beth

If it’s going off of the $0.99 sale price, you would have to buy 21. Assuming that both the links and patties are valid (I think I counted eight varieties between the two), this is a doable scenario.

  • Anonymous

I was going to buy 16 dinners and 6 pot pies to get over $20. I assumed the minimum was going on sale prices not shelf prices. (I have coupons for the above items).

  • Anonymous

someone said under shoprite match ups they did get it and its going off shelf price’s (both catalina’s) and someone else posted they did the deal listed and didnt get it but checked at the front counter and the $5 catalina spend $20 is not only going off shelf price’s but is good until 3/9 so 2 people have confirmed it does work

  • Michelle

It worked just fine for me today. I got 10 brown and serve, and 10 banquet meals. For the brown and serve though, some have a shelf price of $1.39 and the others have a shelf price of $1.19.

    • Beth

So maybe it’s the shelf pricing? Did the shelf price vary on the Banquet Meals too?

      • Michelle

Banquet meals were $1. I didn’t even notice the shelf price till i looked at my recipt. I got 4 brown and serve at #1.39 and 6 brown and serve at $1.19. It wasn’t until I saw this post to take a look at my recipt in depth.

    • Cindy

Ah, that cold be the issue. People may be purchasing sausages that have a lower shelf price.

  • Lisa

I did the deal twice this morning. Both catalinas printed. I bought 12 sausage links and 4 beef pot pies. I received a $5 and a $3 dollar catalinas. It was at the Roosevelt Blvd store in Ne Philly if that helps.

  • Shannon

I got both cats and this is what I got in Mansfield, NJ.

    4 Maple sausages ($1.19) $0.99
    4 Original sausages ($1.19) $0.99
    4 Beef sausages (1.39) $0.99
    3 Chicken pot pies ($0.87) $0.77
    4 Turkey pot pies ($0.87) $0.77
    Subtotal ($21.17) Paid $17.27

    Hope it helps!

    • Rocky

      Very helpful, thanks!

  • Jessica

Does anyone know if the $5 Campbell’s/frozen foods catalina offer must be purchased in one trip? Or does it track your purchases/total across the promotional period (meaning, if I purchased 15 banquet sausages at the $1.19 shelf price, I can buy 3 more tomorrow to meet the $20 total?) I received the $3 catalina for ConAgra, but was wondering if the frozen foods offer worked differently. I couldn’t tell from reading the language in the ad.

    • Rocky

Almost always (always??), these types of deals must be made in one transaction at SR, but, you are right. The ad this time does not specifically say that. IF it were tracking, though, just like the free turkey deal, or the free matzoh deal, it would be listed toward the bottom of your receipt (after all the coupons). Is there any indication on your receipt about it?

      • Jessica

Hi Rocky…thanks for your response! No, unfortunately, nothing is appearing on the bottom of the receipt, but I may cross my fingers and give it a try anyway. My husband loves these sausages, so $.99 isn’t too bad of a bad price. (: Thanks again.

        • Rocky

Hi, Jessica, I know what you mean. Lately, they have had them for $1.19 a couple of times, but $0.99 hasn’t been seen in awhile! We use them as breakfast sides (of course!), for lunch sandwiches, and, I also chop them up to put in omelettes, which we sometimes have for supper! I’ve tried other brands when they were on sale with coupons, but, they never all get gobbled up like the B&S do!!!

  • Erin

I got the double dip! I bought 10 banquets 7 brown and serve and 2 fruit pies
    =$21ish -.70/2 fruit pies(already doubled it)
    -1.50/8 banquets
    =$18.80(ish) got $5 car and $3 cat

  • meli

Thanks we love these in my house and they have not been on sale in a while.

  • Mario

Cindy, I just got back and saw that the BEEF brown & serve we’re $1.39 shelf price and all the other kinds (maple, hot & spicy, etc) were $1.19 shelf price. This is probably why people are not meeting the requirements for the double dip!! HTH

  • Tiffany

    I bought the following:
    4 Banquet Chicken Nugget Meals
    4 Banquet Salisbury Steak Meals
    4 Maple Sausages
    4 Beef Sausages
    4 Apple Fruit Pies
The $3 ConAgra Cat printed as well as a $5 ConAgra Cat.

  • Val

    I brought 12 banquet Beef Sausage & 4 Chicken pot pies and got $3 & $5 Cat.

    • Anonymous

Did you get 12 of the same variety?

  • Val

If you get the 4 pot pies and the 12 banquet sausages its has to beef to get both cats

  • Lisa

I work at shop rite and I can tell u that the deals work with the sale price not the pre price plus price.

  • Dawn

    Should’nt i have receieved a $3.00 CAT? I bought 4 banquet sausages and 6 pot pies. I know i wouldn’t of recieved the $5.00 off because I didn’t purchase $20 but i though if i bought 10 it would trigger a $3 CAT. Am I wrong?

    • Rocky

Hi, Dawn. The Pot Pies were not part of the Buy 10, Get $3 cat ConAgra deal. The Banquet items in that deal were the sausages, Banquet Meals and Banquet Chicken Nuggets. HTH!

      • Dawn

Thanks so much Rocky. That was a huge help :-)

  • christina mathers

Aldi has this brand of sausage every day for $.99!

    • Jaime

Technically, it’s not the same brand (it’s Aldi’s own private label), but it is pretty much the same thing. Even the box is the same color. My very picky kids can’t tell the difference! The B&S also turn up at the Dollar Tree on occasion, but they sell out quickly.

  • Sv

Shes right it does go off sale price and not coupon price. Also if you buy 20 or more items in one transaction that are a part of the buy 10 get $3 you will only get ONE $3 cat back. I was hoping to get 2 $3 cats back (cause i bought 10 and 10) plus the $5 cat and i didnt because its limit 1 $3 cat per transaction. ( thats where they got me) I bought 22 items of this deal and got $3 cat and $5 cat and this was all on one transaction. If your hoping to get 2 $3 cats back it wont work. its worked on on other shoprite deals but not this one. Hope this helps.

    • Rocky

Hi, Sv, something to keep in mind for future reference: you will only receive two of the same deal’s cats in one transaction if the deal is a Buy x ‘quantity’ of the deal items. Not if it is a Buy (or, Spend) x ‘dollars’ of the deal items.

An example of the Buy x Quantity deal, where you could get two cats for buying, say, double the amount of deal items was last week’s L’Oreal for Kids deal. That was Buy 2, Get $1 back. If you bought 4 in the same order, you would receive two cats.

That situation is not applicable if you buy double the amount on a deal where you have to spend/buy x amount of dollars worth of items. HTH!

      • Meg

Hi Rocky, so if I get it correct, if I buy 20 sausages which part of both deals I should get 3, 3 and 5 back, Sorry my keyboard lost dollar sign to water damage, lol.

        • Rocky

Hi, Meg. Although that seems to make sense, in line with the example I gave, in this case, SR always puts a limit in place for the Dollar Days deals. Only 1 deal per manufacturer per transaction. It is written in the ads.

So, although, yes, it is a quantity purchase deal, that doesn’t apply to Dollar Days deals. Most sorry if I gave the wrong impression! I’m glad you questioned it, so I could clarify. I was using an example of singular deals/cats that they hold every so often.

          • Meg

Thank you Rocky for reply, your example and explanation was the most helpful, I completely forgot that there was a limit.

    • Rocky

Sv, I also want to apologize to you for muddying the water! You had already mentioned that you wouldn’t get two $3 cats for buying 10 and 10 in one transaction and I went off on a tangent about dollars versus quantity cause I had been reading a totally different post that I was thinking of replying to – clicking back and forth and scrolling and all I saw was ‘you will only get one cat back’…, but, in the back of my mind, knowing full well that SR limits these dollar day deals. but, not putting that in my reply to your post! Ay, ay, ay…So, totally disregard my previous reply to you, please? Thanks, much!

And, if it wasn’t bad enough, I somehow sent through a duplicate reply. It must mean I am…very, very, sorry! Hahahahah! I think I will keep my fingers off the keyboard for awhile…[wink].

  • robyn

last night I bought 16 diner and 6 pot pies … and I got the 3.00 cat and the 5.00 cat. HTH used 2 – .75c/8 diners and 1 .60c/6 pot pies paid 13.42 …averaged out to about .25c an item after coupons and cats.

  • robyn

and the 20.00 has to be purchased all in one order .. I did 2 prior orders of 16 diner and the 5.00 cat didnt come out but when doing the 16 diner and 6 pot pies in one order it did I am going to test the limit one per card next LOL

  • Kimmy

My Shoprite is limiting 4 per transaction period so if I purchase anymore than that I have to pay regular price..this suxz :(

    • Laura D.

Kimmy, it’s 4 ‘per variety’. So you can buy the 12, just make sure it’s different varieties. Ex: 4 original, 4 maple, 4 beef, etc. You will not have a problem then, hth!
