Extreme Couponing Tip: Don’t Leave for Tomorrow What You Can Print Today

This week’s Extreme Couponing Tip is inspired by reader Rejane’s awesome quote “Don’t leave for tomorrow what you can print today.”  I just love that saying and it couldn’t be more true for an extreme couponer!  This is a reminder to print coupons, especially “hot” coupons right away because they may be no longer available to print sooner than you think!  This is a basic rule for an extreme couponer and one that will never get old!

An example of how this rule really came into practice recently was this past week with the awesome, high value $1.50/1 Mott’s for Tots printable coupon that was available.  This coupon is awesome in and of itself.  It makes for super cheap juice at many stores, however last week it also paired with a gas points deal at Stop & Shop where you could have scored up to an $11.00 money maker if you can fill up 35 gallons of gas.

I have access to 3 computers at home, so I quickly printed my 6 coupons as soon as I became aware of the coupon.  I’ve been doing this long enough to know a coupon with that high value probably wouldn’t last long!  And it sure didn’t!  By the next morning many of you were super disappointed to see the coupon was no longer available to print.  Unfortunately there are times we’re going to miss out on coupons however when a hot coupon pops up, if you can get to a computer, be sure to take the time and print those high value coupons as soon as you can because we don’t want you to be disappointed ;)

Another hot coupon we saw come and go quickly this week was the $2/1 Hatfield Bourbon BBQ Ham Steak Coupon.  The value of this coupon alone tells us not to wait to print!

So take it from us, print coupons that you think you will use right away.  Don’t wait!  Again as Rejane beautifully put, “Don’t leave for tomorrow what you can print today.” ;)

Very well said…. I personally can not NOT give in to the “rush” that I get when I see high value coupons and great deals. I have to address that “rush”……. or else I beat myself to no end for missing the coupon. :)

For high value q very true, gone very fast, otnher q nho`wever canh be prinhted `wnhenh dea

Sorry for this messy post, my keyboard acted weird. What I meant to say is For high value q very true, gone very fast, other q can wait for the deal. I found it useful to hit print and put document on hold and when I actually need q I connect to printer and take q off hold. Saves me ink and paper.

      • Rejane

Meg, this is a clever idea to print and put the document on hold. I have an old laptop that acts weird and always change by itself the default printer no matter what I do (yes, it has his own mood lol) . As it is an old one, I don’t bother to check and make sure that the correct printer is selected every time I need to print – however, it happened several times that it was not and for some reason I thought the coupon was lost and I would delete what is on hold in the printer box. Silly me and thanks for mentioning it.
One thing that I do is save paper. If I need to print one coupon only, I clip it and save what is left of the paper so I can print one or two more coupons in it. Or I also print right away, without clipping but changing the direction of the paper so one coupon wouldn’t print on top of the other or on the back of each other. I am mentioning that because once I introduced LRWC to a guy and he was printing one coupon in a page and throwing in the garbage more than 2/3 of the page that still could be used. Maybe it is the way that man x woman think (no offenses meant to guys at all when saying it) but we do think different than them.
Not sure if makes sense what I tried to explain but our motto is “savings” right? So let’s save in every and each way we can. :-)

        • Meg

Hi Rejane, clipping paper is a brilliant idea, love it. I think when we start couponing we start thinking differently, like saving every way we can and there are so many ways I did not notice before , it is amazing and it’s all thanks to Cindy.

      • Jodi

I was just going to say that! Awesome idea!

  • Rejane

WOW – I am literally blushing now and officially feeling like a member of this awesome club called LRWC! Thanks Cindy.

    • Rejane

On another note, I am feeling special this week. I inspired Ueen to start using the gas points at SnS and now Cindy mentioned me. I may buy a lottery ticket this week! :-)

      • ueen

You sure did. :) I had to get 2 more 5 gal gas cans at advance auto for $13 each after coupon code. Where was this $13 gas can we had Sandy. :)

        • Rejane

Thank you Laura D. I will keep an eye on it for sure as I just opened today my last ream package. :-)

          • Rejane

Sorry Ueen and LAura D. Posted the last comment in the wrong place.
What I want to ask you is where did you get the coupon for Advanced Auto Parts. I got my can at Home Depot for $17 and I would like to get another one.

            thanks!

    • Laura D.

Hi Rejane, just a heads up, there may be a free 5 ream case of paper next week at Staples. The 5 ream case is $24.99 – $20.00 easy rebate = $4.99 and usually a coupon for $4.99 off the ream will come along in their email. Making the paper in the end FREE!!! :)

      • Rejane

Hi Laura D, by any chance did you receive the coupon for $4.99 off the ream by email?

        • Laura D.

Hi Rejane! Yesterday I received a coupon for the 10 ream case Staples® 8.5″ x 11″ Multipurpose paper, 10-ream case, item no. 513096. that makes the 10 ream case $9.99, using coupon code #84089 with the easy rebate.

I should be receiving more coupons tomorrow morning. I will update whether or not they emailed a $4.99 for the 5 ream case which would make it free. HTH!

Oh, there is a HammerMill Copy Plus 8.5″ x 11″ Copy Paper, ream, item no. 122408.* that is free with the easy rebate using coupon code 20397 which I believe is in the match ups. :)

          • Rejane

            Great! Thank you!!!

            • Laura D.

Sorry Rejane, no $4.99 coupon for the 5 ream case of paper. :( I had my fingers crossed for that one!

              • Rejane

Thank you for taking the time to keep me updated on that.

    • LRWC – Cindy Livesey

We just loved that quote here and kept repeating it every time a great coupon came out. Thank you for inspiring us! :)

  • ueen

rejane – i got the adv auto coupon code from ebatesdotcom. just go to that website, search for advance auto. you will alsoget 5.5 cash back. u can order online and ship to store so u dont pay shipping.

  • Rejane

I see. I looked at retailmenotdotcom to see if they have any “in store” coupon for the Adv Auto Parts and I didn’t bother to check the online one. I will check on ebates. Thanks!

  • nikki

I’ve always been a little confused when someone says they printed from multiple computers. When I print from sites like coupons.com it is linked to my ip address. So if I try another computer it just says print limit reached after I print it twice.
