What’s happening in NJ this weekend ? Here are some great free or inexpensive activities to do with your family over the weekend! It’s always nice to have a plan!
Saturday 11/23/13:
St. Luke’s Holiday Fair- Winter Wonders
Cost: FREE
Description: The theme this year is “Winter Wonders”. The fair, a tradition dating back to the 1950s, includes shopping and activities for the whole family: handcrafted ornaments, hand knit items, floral topiaries and wreathes, home baked goods, frozen gourmet foods, a children’s boutique (which allows only youngsters to shop for family and friends at appropriate prices), photos with Santa, and more! Lunch is sold from 11:30 until 1. Admission to the fair is free. All proceeds from the Fair are used to fund mission programs such as the Community Soup Kitchen, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and Houses to Homes.
Location: St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 182 Main St , Gladstone, NJ

Meadowlands Pet Expo
Cost: $12.00 adult and $5 children (ages 11 and under), 3 and under are admitted free
Description: The sixth annual Meadowlands Pet Expo will feature many pet vendors, educational and entertaining performances, special attractions, hands-on-petting opportunities, pet adoptions, and outstanding holiday shopping for pet lovers and their pets.
Location: Meadowlands Expo Center, 355 Plaza Drive , Secaucus, NJ

Sunday 11/24/13:
Apple Cidering
Cost: $3/person
Description: Take part in the hands-on process by helping to prepare the apples, grinding them, turning the old-fashioned press, and collecting the cider. This engaging experience is topped off with a delicious sample of fresh, homemade cider! You will also learn some amazing facts about the apple’s place in history and in the natural world.
Location: Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center, 247 Southern Blvd, Chatham, NJ

“The Velveteen Rabbit” adapted by Jenn Bornstein
Cost: $8 for General and $5 for Children 3yrs + and Seniors
Description: The Velveteen Rabbit- by JAM Theater Company. The Velveteen Rabbit tells the story of a child whose love brings a favorite toy to life. In his adventures, the stuffed rabbit learns about friendship and what it truly takes for a toy to become “real.” Join us for a modernly magical take on this timeless classic that will be fun for the whole family
