Organic Products Now Sold at Walmart

We love coupons here at LRWC but we also love healthy living and try whenever possible to really promote the ability to coupon in a healthy way!  We hate the myth that couponing is only for unhealthy products.  In addition to the increased coupons we’re seeing for organic products, we are also seeing more and more great deals and options for buying organic from various retailers you may have not thought about buying organic from!  In one of the recent “Talking Thrifty With Cindy” videos, Cindy talked about buying organic and gluten free at Home Goods and even Big Lots!  Well now we can add Walmart to our list of buying organic at a great price!

Walmart announced last week that they will carry Wild Oats organic food items. Originally introduced in 1987, Wild Oats will relaunch at Walmart starting this month with a new, more affordable price point on quality products covering a broad variety of categories – from salsa and pasta sauce to quinoa and chicken broth.

Customers will save 25 percent or more when comparing Wild Oats to national brand organic products. Walmart and Wild Oats will introduce nearly 100 products as part of the line, removing the price premium associated with organic groceries.  Walmart and Wild Oats will introduce nearly 100 products as part of the line, removing the price premium associated with organic groceries. Here’s what Jack Sinclair, executive vice president of grocery at Walmart has to say about the addition of organic products at Walmart:

“We know our customers are interested in purchasing organic products and, traditionally, those customers have had to pay more,” said Sinclair. “We are changing that and creating a new price position for organic groceries that increases access. This is part of our ongoing effort to use our scale to deliver quality, affordable groceries to our customers.”  “At Walmart, we are focused on offering customers choice,” added Sinclair. “We know our customers count on us to provide them with affordable access to all of the groceries they are looking for.  Organics are no exception.”

I’m excited to give these organic products a try.  Will you consider buying organic at Walmart?
