Dirty Dozen Clean Fifteen Printable 2015

The Environmental Working Group,  which is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment, has just release the 2015 Dirty Dozen Clean Fifteen list.

Organic foods are much more expensive.  There is no doubt about that.  But, as I mentioned in the 10 Things You Should Not Buy at the Grocery Store, you don’t have to buy all your produce organic.  This list helps you to cut costs on organic foods.

Topping in at number one on the Dirty Dozen list is Apples once again.  Here is the full Dirty Dozen list of foods with the highest content of pesticides.

Dirty Dozen:

1. Apples
2. Peaches
3. Nectarines
4. Strawberries
5. Grapes
6. Celery
7. Spinach
8. Sweet Bell Peppers
9. Cucumbers
10. Cherry Tomatoes
11. Snap peas – imported
12. Potatoes

The Clean Fifteen are produce items that contain the least amount of pesticide residue which means, you could, if you wanted to, skip the organic price tag and opt for the conventionally grown produce.
