GoGo SqueeZ Recall

GoGo SqueeZ applesauce pouches are a popular kid’s snack and a staple in lunch boxes nationwide. However, a recent production issue may have caused certain GoGo SqueeZ packets to harbor common fruit mold. While the mold itself poses no health risk, according to microbiologists, it does not taste too good. Therefore, the company has issued a voluntary recall of all affected packets.

Here are the details:

  • All applesauce flavors are potentially affected.
  • All GoGo SqueeZ pouches produced in the U.S. with a “Best Before” date between June 30, 2016 and July 26, 2016 are potentially affected.

To find this information, look at the back of individual pouches. Best before dates are on the back, lower left hand corner. Directly under that date should be a 5-digit production code that begins with “US”.

Alternately, look at the cartons containing the pouches. The Best before date is at the bottom panel of the carton. Underneath the nutrition information on the back of the carton, it should say “Product of USA”.

Here are some photos to help.

GoGo SqueeZ believes it caught this issue before many of these cartons made it into consumer’s hands and retailers have already removed them from shelves. However, for those with affected applesauce, it is offering product replacement vouchers, which you can request here.
