“Cinderella”: Off-Broadway’s Best Family Show
Ragtag Theatre’s “Cinderella” is back in New York this summer to delight kids and their parents. Named the Best Family Show by the Off-Broadway Alliance and “Playbill”, this hilarious musical romp follows a poor troupe of “Italian” actors as they present the beloved fairy tale Cinderella, with a few unique twists! This off-kilter version of the classic tale features daffy llamas, rollerskating fairy godmothers, selfie-taking stepsisters, Carol Channing and furry footwear standing in for the traditional glass slippers! This charming and fun-filled adaptation is performed in the street theater style known as Commedia dell’arte with larger-than-life characters, colorful song-and-dance numbers, tons of pop culture references and a great message about self-worth for kids.
