A long time reader, Barbara A. needs our help. Through the Oscar Mayer Good Mood Mission, Barbara has been working hard since January doing and posting 5 good deeds that she has done every single day. “I gave away everything that I could think of as my good deeds from food to clothing to coupons to points, etc. It is probably easier for people who coupon to find good deeds since we have an over abundance of everything and we are out at stores where there are opportunities to help people”, said Barbara. She is right, but I think her efforts went above and beyond!
Well, because of all the goodness that Barbara spread, she landed herself in the top 5 of the Oscar Mayer Good Mood Mission. Voting begins today and runs through 9/25/11. The top voter wins $100,000 to the charity of their choice. Barbara’s charity is United Way of Ocean County.
I have already voted for her, I hope you will too! Go Barbara, we are rooting for you!

You know I am always suggesting to donate from your stockpile. And thanks to all of you, we have put together a great list of food banks which we have listed on the Couponing for a Cause page.
One of the Living Rich with Coupons readers contacted me about a great project her son has in NJ. In the Borough of Madison, they have proclaimed September “Hunger Action Month” and are working to organize a community wide hunger awareness program and food drive to benefit one of my favorite organizations, The Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
Local business, organizations or individuals can donate during the month of September with a town wide food collection on 10/1/11 at Madison’s Bottle Hill Day Festival.
Head over to the Madison Hunger Action Month facebook page to learn more about it. And, be sure to visit the Living Rich With Coupons, Couponing for a Cause page for even more Food Banks in your area.
If you are running a program in your town, church or organization, feel free to list it in the comments below.
Community Foodbank of New Jersey has just released information on ways to help those in need after Hurricane Irene. Many of the items they are requesting donations for are items that we have gotten for free so you will probably already have them in your stockpile.

For some of us in NJ the hurricane was nothing more then a bad storm but for some NJ and surronding areas, residents have lost homes, cars and more. The flooding has just taken over some towns. So, I wanted to put together a list of organizations that are offering relief in the area. Of course, the Red Cross is the biggest, but many local organizations and Churches are pulling together to help out their communties.
This list is short right so please leave information in the comments of any other organziation or collections efforts that you know of so that we can add more to this list.
